Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: A great first step!

After receiving such kindness, the civilians' vigilance towards Sager dropped sharply. One of the civilians swallowed the piece of meat in two or three gulps and said,

"Captain, we are from Campas Town."

"Campass Town?" Ajin was stunned.

Sager looked at Ajin.

"Captain Sager, Campas Town is a famous place in the East China Sea, and the canvas produced here is very popular," said Ajin.

"That's right."

The civilian said, "We are a merchant ship from Campas Town. We were originally carrying a batch of canvas, but we encountered pirates on the way. They took away all our canvas. The captain and the guards tried to resist and fell into the sea and disappeared."

"You're showing mercy by leaving a bucket of water." Sag nodded.

"No, they didn't steal anything except the canvas. The food was destroyed by the shelling." A civilian raised his hand and protested.

You are quite proud.

"Um, Captain"

The civilian who spoke first said weakly, "I know this may be a bit presumptuous. Can you please let us go to the next populated place?"

"I'm not interested in letting commoners become pirates."

Sager glanced at him and asked Akin, "Is the canvas of Campas valuable?"

"The canvas they produce is worth 20,000 Baileys a piece."

Ajin glanced at the sailboat and said, "Based on the inventory of this sailboat, it can carry fifty horses at a time."

That's a million Baileys.

This number is very high.

Sag and his adoptive father worked hard on the farm for a year but could not even earn this much, but others can earn it by just taking a boat trip.

"What about defensive capabilities?" Sager continued to ask.

When he asked this, Ajin understood.

"The defense capabilities of Campas Town itself are not high, but there are frequent naval patrols, and the branch is nearby."

Sager nodded, "Lily."

Lily thought about it and said, "You can try."

Sager smiled at the civilians and said, "Then I'll take you back."

"Send us back."

The civilian's face turned pale, "You want."

Sager bared his cold white teeth and said, "I'm a pirate, of course I have to rob."

They have to rob anyway, whether it's merchant ships or towns.

A town with such economic value must have a lot of money.

If you don't rob the rich town, are you going to look for trouble?

"Captain, are we going to rob the town directly?" Palu asked excitedly.

"That's it. Change course and head towards Campas Town."

Sager stood up and said, "Lock these people in the cabin and let them off when we reach the town."

Several pirates followed orders and held down a group of civilians.

Sager went up to the second floor building on the deck. The second floor building was usually where the captain's room was located. When he opened the door, he saw all kinds of things lying on the floor, with scattered books and papers everywhere.

He grinned, not caring about the mess on the floor, stepped over, picked up the chair, and sat down.

"Great!" Sager made a satisfied sound.

"What's the fun?"

The wooden door was pushed open again, and Lily walked in. She frowned at the messy captain's room and asked, "Is there a nautical chart in the captain's room?"

"Lily!"

Sager grinned and said, "Our pirate business is booming!"

"How to thrive?"

Lily replied, squatted down and looked for it, her eyes lit up, "Here is a nautical chart."

"Look, this is strong evidence of the booming business!"

Sager laughed loudly: "As a navigator, you got the nautical chart, and as a captain, I not only got my men, but also seized the first ship, and I am going to rob, these are all good things!"

Lily pursed her lips and said politely, "Sager, this ship can't sustain our long-term voyage."

"unimportant!"

Sager waved his hand and said, "What's important is that we took the first step!"

Unable to maintain navigation?

You just want to say it's a broken ship.

Sager didn't care at all.

A broken boat is still a boat. Anyway, someone named Sager has already seized the boat.

Just taking the first step is a great achievement.

Because of his previous career, he never took the first step.

The crops don't sprout, the fish don't bite, the bodyguards don't show up for duty, the mercenaries don't join the war.

Even if you want to be a yangko star, you don't have the chance to do those bullshit things.

He even had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to find any manure even if he went to pick it up!

What?

There are toilets in this world?

That's not even enough to carry manure!

He had a promising career as a bounty hunter. He did catch a pirate, but unfortunately there was no bounty. He wanted to persist, but after being blamed by the Kingdom of Oikot, there was basically no hope.

But by becoming a pirate, this first step was actually taken.

It is indeed the hottest career trend on the sea!

Sager stretched out his five fingers and clenched them tightly, as if everything around him was in his hands.

Landlord, there is hope!

"Haha, hahahaha!" Sager showed an arrogant smile.

Lily sat down next to him holding the sorted nautical charts and began to look at them one by one.

The pirates outside seemed to be infected by the laughter as well, and they laughed out loud one after another. Palu knocked on the shield in his hand, and his footsteps shook on the deck, making rhythmic sounds. The pirates followed the rhythm, linking arms and singing pirate songs.

Ajin couldn't help but smile as he looked at these happy pirates.

After so many days of failure, they finally got back on board!

The broken ship was shaking, accompanied by these strange sounds, riding on the sun in the sky, stirring up waves on the sea, and sailing towards the distance.

Two days later.

The ship finally reached the town of Campas.

Campas Town is not far from here. Old pirates like Ajin also know the route in the East China Sea. If the ship had not been damaged too badly, they could have arrived in one day.

The town is on an oval island with no barriers around it and a large plain. The island's specialty is fine cotton and linen, so the canvas here is well-made.

The town is located on the east side of the island, and the broken ship is sailing there at this time.

Sager was standing on the fence on the second floor at this time, and Lily was standing beside him, looking at the pirates on the deck with swords drawn and grinning faces, as well as the civilians waiting in the corner, preparing to disembark.

One of the civilians looked up at Sager, gritted his teeth, and stood up and said, "Captain, why don't you give up? You saved us. Campas Town has well-equipped guards, and the navy will arrive as soon as possible. You only have more than 30 people, which is definitely not enough! Let us go, and I will give you a new ship!"

A sloop would cost only sixty to one million baileys, and they could probably raise that much if they pooled their resources.

During these two days, the pirates did not abuse them. Instead, they invited them up to eat on time. Except for the fact that they did not sleep well, they were treated like guests.

In the words of Captain Sager, they are all unlucky people and there is no need to treat them differently.

This is a heroic captain.

Even though he's a pirate, he's still worthy of respect.

Sager smiled calmly and looked at the pirates below, "Little ones, he asked you to give up."

Shine!

Lily drew out her rapier, her eyes turning cold.

"Captain Sager, we are pirates!"

Ajin tightly grasped the cane in his hand and laughed: "Pirates will not accept charity, just rob what they want! Men of the sea will not fear life or death!"

"That's right, Captain Ajin!" the pirates shouted.

Sager did not cancel Ajin's position as the combat captain, so these pirates naturally followed the old practice.

This way, he wouldn't have to worry about leading these ordinary pirates.

"That's right!"

Sager pointed forward and said, "Since you have chosen to be a pirate, then do it the way of a pirate. The things you said..."

He clenched his fist and grinned, "I want them all!"

Get together a boat?

He is so unlucky, how can he get a boat?

It's safer to grab it yourself.

Besides, the fact that these people speak so confidently means that this town is richer and more worthy of robbing.

The ship followed the border of the island and approached the landing point of Campas Town. This town was naturally a port town, so it was enough to just get close to it.

As the town got closer, the pirates couldn't wait to step onto the edge of the ship, waiting to jump off as soon as the ship docked.

But when the boat arrived and allowed them to see the town clearly, they were all suddenly stunned.

Campas is a large and prosperous town, with cargo being loaded and unloaded at the port almost every day, and the streets are full of people. But now, the scene they see is completely different.

The sea surface of the port was littered with ship wreckage. Extending from the port inward, the ground was cracked and full of holes. The buildings were damaged, either half destroyed or completely collapsed, with signs of charring everywhere.

The whole town was half destroyed!
