Let's rewind time a little, courtesy of the great Dialga...
At the same moment Haru stepped onto that nameless, solitary island—
A "demon" was born, unknown to all.
The door to a lab in Aether Paradise was suddenly kicked open.
And amid the swirling gray dust, a girl with short blue hair revealed her true self.
No words were needed—the signature aquamarine bob and the ever-present fishing rod in her hand made her identity obvious: Lana, the Water-type Trial Captain from Akala Island.
She was still wearing that same classic fisherwoman's skirt from when she first arrived.
But make no mistake—the timid girl from before was long gone.
Like a goldfish evolving into a great white shark… or Kobayashi's Kanna suddenly turning into Lucoa, Lana had undergone a complete metamorphosis.
Though her heart was entirely consumed by desire, she was able to control it—and weaponize it.
That, precisely, was the most terrifying thing about her.
As for Wicke, who had also "experienced" Haru's amusement park of sensations…
She wasn't quite as extreme as Lana, but it's not like she came out of it normal either.
Though her appearance hadn't changed, the sheer emotional intensity she carried now could only be described as terrifying.
No exaggeration—if you tossed Wicke into some high fantasy setting, she'd immediately class change into a high-level succubus… and then proceed to absolutely dominate Haru with zero mercy.
As for the shining deity that helped them break out of prison...
It couldn't, for the life of it, understand why humans, after obtaining immense power, wouldn't immediately turn to destruction or revenge—but would instead use it to… assault a fellow human, and even kidnap another woman just to make her watch.
But now that it thought about it... what the hell did assault even mean?
More importantly, why did this girl named Lana want to assault someone? And why did the victim, who had suffered the same torment alongside her, show absolutely no resentment?
Humans were far too complicated. Even Necrozma, clothed in divine radiance, couldn't make sense of them.
Still, that didn't stop it from lending them a little help.
Though its main body was still imprisoned in Ultra Megalopolis, helping them wasn't hard.
And besides… freedom was close. Very close. If Lana kept pushing forward—and those idiots' plan kept progressing...
With Necrozma's assistance, Lana, now utterly refined, broke through her containment.
She brought Wicke with her, heading straight for Lusamine—ready to teach that woman a brutal lesson.
According to intel gathered through their private network, Lusamine had apparently gone off in search of her daughter.
The thought of that pure, golden-haired girl made Lana's otherwise icy eyes warm ever so slightly.
She knew well—Lillie was just as much a victim of Lusamine's cruelty, though in a different way.
Who had it worse? Hard to say.
Lana had suffered physical torment. Lillie had endured mental torture.
Either way, it didn't matter anymore—Lana had to strike.
Like a bloodhound, she tracked Lusamine's scent, dragging Wicke along until they found their target.
At that very moment, Haru had just defeated the Ultra Recon Squad. In the next second, he was about to dismantle their plan, along with Faba's.
But before he could—Lana and Wicke arrived.
High above, Lana stretched out her hand—and an overwhelming wave of psychic energy exploded outward.
BOOM—!!!
Except for a few specially "cared for" individuals and those with means of self-protection, everyone—Faba, the Ultra Recon Squad—was blasted away like leaves in a storm.
Yes, "blasted" not "killed."
Even in her dark form, Lana's heart retained a sliver of kindness. She wouldn't easily take a life.
Still, the island was left in ruins.
If Haru hadn't used the power of Flutter Mane and Mew to shield Lillie, they might've been blown into the ocean.
"Lana? Wicke? What are you two doing here?!"
"And what's with this—?!"
Their sudden appearance completely blindsided Haru.
He'd thought Lana wouldn't face him again unless he sought her out himself. To meet her again, and in the middle of this situation, was the last thing he expected.
But even more shocking—how was Lana, a normal human, suddenly radiating this kind of immense power?
This strange aura... it was unmistakably Psychic-type.
But Lana wasn't a Psychic—he was, and he'd already pushed Lusamine to her absolute limit.
Yet Lana offered no answers. Her gaze turned skyward, where a power was rapidly gathering, and the sky grew darker.
Something… was coming.
At the same time, Faba and the Ultra Recon Squad were frantically checking a device, maybe some kind of power scanner.
"This… this can't be! The machine's destroyed—so why is the energy still increasing?!"
"Is the Ultra Wormhole about to open?! And not just one—a bunch of them?! Did Necrozma provoke some monster?!"
"No way—this shouldn't be happening. It wasn't supposed to break free yet!"
But it didn't matter what they believed. Some Pokémon simply weren't meant to be controlled.
Rayquaza was one.
And so was Necrozma.
Across Alola, countless glowing oval portals tore open the sky—Ultra Wormholes leading to untold worlds. Through them, the Ultra Beasts could now flood into this world...
Even if they weren't as violent as Paradox Pokémon, their power alone could plunge the entire region into chaos.
Power—was all it took to be a calamity.
Worse still, above Lana's head, a particularly massive, pitch-black Ultra Wormhole opened.
Its energy was far more terrifying than any of the others.
Why?
Because on the other side of that gaping void waited the strongest of all Ultra Beasts.
Codename: UB: Black—Necrozma.
Yes—though it wasn't supposed to be free yet, Necrozma descended directly into this world through Lana's body.
Normally, this would've been impossible.
But some unknown being had given it the chance.
And though it now had to share control with Lana's mind… Necrozma couldn't wait a moment longer.
Besides, Lana was a "kindred spirit." She wouldn't oppose its plans.
This time, it was a guaranteed win.
Now came the performance.
Lana, for her part, completely understood Necrozma's intention.
She knew full well what accepting its power meant.
But so what?
She wouldn't lose her will—not entirely. And with that power, she could finally do everything she wanted.
She might even influence its decisions...
So why not?
Let's fight!
"Necrozma—let us become one!"
"I feel your domination—I see your ambition!"
As Necrozma's power surged into her, Lana's presence skyrocketed—again and again!
Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!
She was now fifty times stronger than ever before!
An overwhelming tyrant! A manic demon!
Who the hell could possibly stop her now?! Who the hell in this world could even try?!
"N-Necrozma? But how did it come to this?!"
Haru and Lillie were dumbfounded.
Everything was spiraling into madness, and they didn't even know how it happened.
Honestly? Mew, who was supposed to be orchestrating all this from Haru's shoulder, was just as stunned.
Wait—what?! Lana went dark mode?! Wasn't this her own carefully scripted downfall arc? Why the hell was the plot running off the rails?!
She was supposed to be a seductive, sin-laced enchantress post-prison break—a Water-type trainer gradually falling from grace.
Damn it!
She lost control of the story again!
