Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: When Mew Takes Advantage of the Situation

Although it sounded like a question, Haru was already speaking as if he had completely confirmed it as fact.

He had just gone back and carefully reviewed everything that had happened, and no matter how he thought about it, Mew was the most suspicious one.

Now that he looked back, it was obvious that Mew had followed Necrozma into Ultra Space from the very beginning—that's how she managed to show up at such a critical moment.

Mew wasn't an Ultra Beast, and without that classification, finding and entering an Ultra Wormhole on her own and then precisely tracking them down here would be no simple task. So, the only explanation was that she had slipped in right behind them earlier.

Given that, what exactly had she been up to during the time she disappeared?

Haru hadn't thought much of it before, but now that he was connecting the dots with that so-called livestream, a lot of things suddenly made sense.

So the one behind all this chaos was his own personal director, Mew—once again stirring things up! She'd basically been filming a full-on documentary.

But strangely enough, now that he realized this, Haru actually felt a bit relieved.

Because he knew—no matter how outrageous Mew's antics got—she still had at least some sense of boundaries. She wouldn't completely blow things up beyond repair.

At the very least, she probably hadn't streamed everything that had happened between him and Lusamine to Lillie.

…probably.

Still, whether she had or hadn't, Haru was definitely going to give her a serious scolding.

It was one thing to mess around with lewd games and doujin all day, but now she was doing this?

This had long since passed the threshold of harmless mischief—this called for real consequences!

If he didn't put his foot down now, what next? Was she going to write and direct some "Pokémon World Theme Park Domination Plan" for him?

"..."

Noticing that Haru seemed genuinely angry, Mew poked her head out from behind Flutter Mane, only half-visible, and floated over with a guilty expression—literally.

No, Haru hadn't just interpreted her face that way. She had literally stuck pieces of paper with "I'm sorry" written all over her face.

This Pokémon's thought process was, by normal standards, completely unhinged.

"Wait, it was Mew? But why would she do something like that?"

Both Lana and Iono looked visibly shaken by the answer.

In their eyes, mythical Pokémon were always symbols of mystery and power. The idea that Mew, of all creatures, had done something like this was… difficult to swallow.

"No need to worry," Haru replied. "I'll be punishing her properly. When you do good, you get rewarded—when you screw up, there are consequences."

'Can I pick the punishment myself?'

Mew, eyes wide and sparkling, communicated this thought to Haru telepathically.

"No, absolutely not."

'Then I'm going to evolve! Once I evolve, Master will definitely change his mind!'

Just as her words echoed in Haru's head, her body was suddenly engulfed in a bright white light.

When the light faded, the long-tailed pink cat was nowhere to be seen. In her place stood a girl with long pink hair.

She looked like a sakura blossom in early spring—soft and radiant. Her pink hair floated like a cloud, light and fragrant in the breeze. Beneath her delicate brows, large dark eyes shimmered with innocence and mischief, as if they could peer straight into the softest corners of someone's heart.

The girl bent slightly forward, hands resting on her knees, and asked gently, "How about now? Still a no?"

In the Pokémon world, the move Transform is one that only three Pokémon can learn: Ditto, Smeargle, and Mew.

In the games, using it allows the Pokémon to copy another's stats (except HP) and abilities. In high-level competitive battles, people often bring a Ditto just to mirror their opponent's Legendary—two Level 1 Gods vs. one.

But in real life, the move isn't that busted.

If any random Ditto could just casually turn into a Legendary Pokémon, wouldn't that be a slap in the face to said Legendary?

However, if all Mew wanted was to turn into a cute anime girl? That was easier than reviving Ash Ketchum's plot armor.

And with Mew's record as both an AI girl and a notorious H-games master, sculpting her dream body was child's play.

"...This isn't evolving. This is literally ascending to demonhood."

"And no, seduction tactics won't work on me."

Haru rejected her without hesitation, then ignored the extremely complicated expressions on the girls' faces as he continued:

"Anyway, why don't you all explain to me what's actually going on? I feel like I've been kept in the dark about way too much."

"Especially you, Lana. What exactly did you mean by revenge? Why did you want revenge on Lusamine?"

"Eep—"

Just as things had settled down a little, Mew shuddered and tugged Haru's sleeve, whispering:

"Um… maybe don't ask about that?"

"It's all in the past now. Some things are better left unknown, you know?"

Her voice got softer and smaller with each word, until she practically had the word "guilty" tattooed on her forehead.

"Why not? What's so bad about asking? Isn't this something between Lusamine and Lana?"

Haru furrowed his brow again.

"...or is it because you did something again?"

"No no no! Of course not!" Mew shook her head violently. "I only did a tiny bit of work. I just helped Lusamine a little."

As she said this, she rubbed her thumb and forefinger together, as if to say "just a little bit" and watched Haru's expression carefully.

But Lana wasn't having it.

"She and Lusamine tied me up and made Bicke and me watch the 'Forbidden Student-Teacher Love' show you two put on in that brand-new lab."

"And they even used some kind of psychic power to amplify our desires nonstop."

"Then she just left us there, completely at the mercy of that lust."

"I originally thought Lusamine had manipulated your Pokémon, but now it looks like your Pokémon was actually the mastermind."

"Y-yeah! I'm sorry! But I didn't mean to trap you there forever!"

"I thought Lusamine was going to let you out later! But then I found out she had already passed out by that point…"

Director Mew was in full panic now, flailing her arms as she desperately tried to salvage the situation.

She didn't really care how Lana felt, but there was no way she could let her Trainer genuinely start hating her.

But her pleas clearly weren't working—Haru's face had already turned the color of an overcooked Alcremie.

"Mew… it seems I've been way too lenient with you."
