I couldn't tear my eyes away from my mother and Gamma Alistair—now officially husband and wife. Their happiness radiated through the entire hall, bringing tears to my eyes. Everything about this day had been perfect: the decorations, the ceremony, and most importantly, the love that was so visible between them.
But I couldn't ignore the burning sensation of Rhys Knight's gaze on me. Even when I wasn't looking at him, I could feel those dark eyes tracking my every movement. It made my skin tingle and my heart race in ways I wasn't ready to acknowledge.
Across the room, I spotted Rhys standing with his friends. Julian Mercer nudged him with an elbow, a teasing grin spreading across his face.
"Damn, Knight, your eyes are going to burn a hole through that blue dress if you keep staring," Julian said loudly enough for me to overhear.
Caspian and Preston snickered beside them. Rhys's jaw tightened, but his eyes never left me.
