Chapter 9 - A Musical Note

"Nishat,right?"

The lad looked up, he was standing with his head down when two weirdo approached him.

' Truly weirdo, what are they trying to show wearing such spacesuit like cloth, such expensive ones at that? Are they some rich brats trying to experience poor lifestyle while pretending to be cosplayers? Too bad then, no cosplayer here can afford such expensive costumes. Even a piece of these suits should cost more than someone's livelihood for a week. But...'

In a single moment, countless thought flashed through his mind. But the most confusing matter was these weirdos knew him. But how?

"Hey friend, are you listening?"

Nishat was a truly fragile one, even now he had to lean against the piller to support himself. The grip around the flute remained the same yet he was tensed. Who are these weirdos?

"I do not recall being friends with rich kids."

"Trust me, we will be friends." Noah, who had a persuasive tone, was talking, "Nishat, it is really nice to meet for the first time. I am Noah. And this is..."

"Risha," she cleared her throat, "It's Arisha Haydar. It is good to meet you...I guess."

"And so?" Nishat was a distrustful one. Even as he was staring at them, countless doubt crossed his mind.

It was a recent occurance where authority came in disguise and fooled them into talking. He wasn't wrong to suspect them. Most of all, he wasn't really interested in talking to some weirdos.

Nishat looked around. He wants to leave. But Grey hadn't arrived yet. So he had no choice but to wait. He couldn't decide. Should he just ditch Grey and leave this uncomfortable situation?

It is really hard talking to someone who is 100% uninterested. Even Noah, the outgoing one of the two, was feeling extremely awkward. So despite feeling equally uninterested, Risha felt now it is her turn to step in. She didn't know what to say so she said whatever came to her mind.

"Nishat, first of all,i really apologise for ruining your evening. I wouldn't have done it if I had any other way. I am definitely not approaching you with any intention to befriend you. I need your help to contact your uncle. He is a scientist, right Noah?"

"Uh-hm," Noah was flustered at Risha's direct approach. He had expected to approach him slowly and slyly to convince him to persuade Arafat Rahman on their behalf but this girl ruined that chance right at the beginning.

Similar to Noah, Nishat too was flustered. Using him to approach his uncle is one thing but admitting it so adamantly is something else. He sighed again, when is Grey coming? Remaining silent seemed in polite so he replied, "Miss Haydar, I accept your apology and I am very sorry. I cannot help you contact me my uncle for he is out of town and I have absolutely no idea when he will be back. You have approach meaninglessly."

"We can use that time to become your friend. What do you think?"

Noah still hasn't even up on the idea of taking advantage of friendship. But unfortunately for him he had met his match. Nishat was equally stubborn.

"As I said before I don't intend to become your friend."

"Your music was really good. Who wrote that piece? Do you mind telling me? "

Risha's question made him move for the first time in a while. He slightly tilted his head," That would be me. I wrote that music. "

"if it is not to personnel can you tell me more about this music? I don't mean any offence. I just never heard a music like that. It was soul piercing."

Nishat smiled, "It was just something I wrote casually. Really there wasn't anything special about it. You liked it. I can tell and I am grateful for that. "

"No,you are underestimating yourself too much. It was a masterpiece, can you tell me what drove you to write it?"

"I...this note reflects my heart. I just poured my feelings in it. It is sort of my last piece of work. So I really put my soul into it."

"Last, why is it?"

"I am dedicating myself to something greater. Without completing it, I will not write another song. "

"Greater? The rebellion?"

Nishat froze, everyone in this alley knows it but no one dares to say it so directly. Risha continued, "And you can rest assured. We are definitely not involved with the authority. And if it is possible we would like to join."

Risha had more to say but a voice interrupted her, "Hey Nishu, making friends?"

Following the voice, Risha spotted a boy coming towards them. Risha guessed the tall lad's age to be 15 at most. Contrary to Nishat who had dark raven hair reaching his neck, this boy had white curly hair. His attire was ragged just like Nishat's but that didn't bother him in the least. He had a wide smile on his face. Nishat didn't prolonged the explanation.

"They know about the rebellion. It's not safe to talk here. Follow me, so we can talk more discreetly."

Nothing else was said or gestured for the boy but he understood. He took the flute from Nishat, placed it in his backpack and held Nishat's arm to support him to walk.

"Let's move. I'm Gregory by the way, mates call me Grey."

Risha was startled. She wasn't exactly trusting these strangers and going with them blindly wasn't something she preferred to do.

"Hey Nishat, where are you taking and why?"

"My home." Nishat chuckled, "To talk about my music note of course. "

"What's the title of the music anyway?"

Nishat paused for a bit before answering.

"Rebel."
