Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: This Is Just the Beginning!

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

The honeycomb-shaped cannon on Diamondhead's arm began to spin rapidly, unleashing a barrage of diamond shurikens like a storm of bullets. The projectiles struck the giant robot's shoulders, eyes, chest, and all four corners of its frame.

In an instant!

Every critical joint on the robot's body was pierced by the diamond shurikens. Sparks flew as the metallic behemoth was riddled with holes, its entire frame buzzing with electric currents. The once-imposing robot now looked like a battered hive.

It tried to raise its alloy right arm, but the joints and wrist were already embedded with Diamondhead's shurikens. The moment it moved, a sharp crackling sound erupted, and the entire arm fell off, rendered completely useless.

"It's pointless. I've already dismantled every part of you that could pose a threat," Diamondhead declared coldly.

The honeycomb cannon on his arm retracted, morphing back into a fist. Raising both fists, he advanced toward the crippled robot with steady, deliberate steps.

"I told you... I prefer to destroy my enemies with my bare hands!"

Standing before the giant robot, Diamondhead unleashed a flurry of devastating punches.

Bang!

Bang!!

Like a battle-hardened warrior, he shattered the robot's legs with his relentless blows.

The remaining upper body was torn apart piece by piece under Diamondhead's immense strength, scattering mechanical debris across the ground.

Finally, the robot's head fell to the floor, its scanner dimming as the last spark of life faded away.

Without hesitation, Diamondhead raised his foot and stomped down hard, crushing the robotic head into fragments.

Boom!!

As the remaining components exploded and disintegrated into ash, Diamondhead turned and left the campsite without a backward glance.

"Was that giant one the final enemy?"

Diamondhead stood tall, his piercing gaze sweeping across the stunned tourists. His voice was steady and commanding.

"…"

For a moment, there was silence.

Then—

"AMAZING!!"

"You're incredible! Alien hero, can I get your autograph?!"

"Thank you for saving us!"

The crowd erupted into cheers, their earlier fear replaced with awe and admiration. They looked at Diamondhead as if he were a superhero straight out of a Marvel movie.

Before Diamondhead could respond, the Omnitrix on his chest began to blink rapidly.

"Not good," he muttered under his breath.

Bending his knees slightly, he gathered his strength.

Whoosh!!

With a single leap, he soared several meters into the air and landed far beyond the crowd's line of sight, disappearing into the forest.

Though Diamondhead's raw power and speed couldn't compare to Four Arms, he was still a monster compared to ordinary humans.

"He went into the forest? Let's follow him and take a closer look!"

"Yeah, I want a photo to remember this!"

A few bold tourists eyed the forest eagerly, ready to chase after their hero.

But Grandpa Max stepped forward, blocking their path with a warm smile.

"Friends, your campsite is still on fire. Shouldn't you be more concerned about that?" he asked, his tone calm but pointed.

"Oh no! Our gear is going to burn up!"

"Quick, put out the fire!"

Realizing the danger, the tourists immediately turned their attention back to their campsite, rushing to salvage their belongings.

"Thanks for the cover, Grandpa," Xiao Chen said as he emerged from the forest, relief evident on his face. "If it weren't for you distracting them, my identity would've been exposed."

"Be more careful next time, Xiao Chen," Grandpa Max replied, his expression serious.

"I will, Grandpa," Xiao Chen assured him, his tone equally earnest. He could sense the gravity of Grandpa Max's words.

Grandpa Max nodded in satisfaction. He didn't need to lecture further—Xiao Chen was mature enough to understand the consequences of exposing his identity. Even as a hero admired by many, some secrets had to remain hidden.

"Diamondhead was so cool! When we get back to the Rustbucket, can you transform into something else?" Ben Tennyson asked excitedly, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

"Don't worry. Once this trusty clunker turns green again, I'll transform for sure. Just make sure you guys keep this a secret, okay?" Xiao Chen teased with a smirk.

"No need to worry about me. Just make sure this dimwit doesn't blab," Gwen Tennyson quipped, taking a playful jab at Ben.

"Hey! Whoever spills the beans is the real dimwit! Besides, this is way too fun to share with anyone else," Ben retorted, sulking as he turned his head away.

"I trust you, Ben," Xiao Chen said sincerely, placing a hand on Ben's shoulder.

The gesture caught Ben off guard. As someone who often felt isolated at school, this was the first time a peer had shown such genuine trust in him.

"You can count on me! I won't tell anyone!" Ben declared, his eyes filled with determination.

Under the moonlight, their silhouettes seemed to glow, a testament to their growing friendship.

"It's getting late. Time to sleep," Grandpa Max yawned, his eyelids drooping.

One by one, the group climbed aboard the Rustbucket. The door closed, the lights went out, and they settled in for the night. Tomorrow, they'd head back to the city.

Meanwhile, aboard a spaceship in the vastness of space, the atmosphere was anything but calm.

The oppressive aura of Vilgax filled the hall, his mere presence instilling fear in the surrounding robots. Even in his half-destroyed state, his terrifying power was undeniable.

"Lord Vilgax, shall we deploy more robots?" one of his subordinates asked cautiously.

"No. Sending more would just be a waste," Vilgax growled, his expression grim. He had no choice but to admit the strength of this human shapeshifter—Xiao Chen.

"Issue a bounty. Hire the strongest mercenaries you can find. Together, they'll take him down!"

The hunt wasn't over.

This was just the beginning!
