Chapter 3 - BD3

A heart-wrenching blow when we meet?

Or burn to death with fierce fire?

Ivan shuddered as he thought about the tragic fate that might happen, and tried hard to retrieve his original body's memories.

I don't know if it's because of the time travel, but these memories seem to be scattered and hidden deep inside, and no matter how hard Ivan tries, he can't find anything.

"Damn it, if only I could recall more memories." Ivan muttered to himself with a headache. It seemed that he had to learn how to use telepathy before the end of the semester, and then find a way to borrow the meditation basin in the principal's office to sort out his memories, otherwise he would most likely be exposed.

By the way, Ivan doesn't even know where his home is now…

It is rare for a time traveler to achieve his level.

"Harry Potter!"

Just as Ivan was thinking about how to sneak into the Restricted Area and learn Legilimency, Professor McGonagall's loud voice drew Ivan's attention back to the Sorting Ceremony.

Not only Ivan, at this moment, all the young wizards and professors turned their eyes to the stage, as if it was a replay of Ivan going on stage, but it was obvious that Ivan's slight peculiarity could not be compared with the prestige of the savior.

As a little wizard wearing glasses, looking thin and awkward, came onto the stage, there was warm applause from the audience. The second-year Gryffindors next to Ivan clapped their hands until they turned red, staring intently at the forehead that was covered by a little hair, as if they were expecting to see the lightning-shaped scar.

"Harry Potter? Is that the Harry Potter she's talking about?"

"My mom said he defeated You-Know-Who right after he was born!"

"I really hope he's sorted into Gryffindor!"

Ivan also applauded and welcomed everyone, otherwise he would have stood out at the table.

Of course, Ivan also felt that this was the honor Harry deserved. After all, Harry's miserable childhood of being bullied was caused by the death of his parents.

If it weren't for Lily Potter sacrificing her life to cast a protective spell that made the powerful Voldemort lose his power, who knows how many people in the wizarding world would have died...

When they heard that Harry Potter was going to enter Gryffindor, all the little wizards in the audience were overjoyed. The Weasley twins hugged each other excitedly and shouted, "Potter! We have Potter!", while the applause from Slytherin was much lighter.

In particular, the Slytherin prefect sitting in the front row looked a little unhappy after hearing the Sorting Hat say that Harry refused to enter Slytherin.

Ivan watched everything silently and chuckled, knowing that this was because Harry's aura of savior was still there. After a while, when everyone found out that apart from the title, Harry Potter was just an ordinary little wizard, they probably wouldn't care so much.

Ivan complained in his heart, but when he glanced at Dumbledore who was looking at Harry with a smile, he suddenly felt that the Slytherin prefect's worries were right. After all, with the help of the headmaster, the savior could cheat. Not to mention anything else, at least Slytherin could forget about the house cup in the next few semesters.

Seeing Harry walking down from the stage, Gryffindor's prefect Percy Weasley couldn't wait to step forward and shake his hand vigorously the moment Harry stepped down from the stage. Most people also vacated the seats next to them, as if hoping to have a good chat with the savior.

Even George and Fred ran off to join in the fun, leaving Ivan with a lot of empty space.

Ivan had no intention of joining in the fun, and enjoyed the feast in front of him. It was said that the food in the UK was authentic black cuisine, but the food in Hogwarts was unexpectedly good. Ivan thought that this might be related to the fact that the food in Hogwarts was made by house-elves, not British wizards.

Ivan seemed to feel vaguely that someone was watching him. He looked up and saw Dumbledore looking at him with his silver-blue eyes.

Ivan was not at all nervous. He smiled at Dumbledore, pretending to be well-behaved and shy, then put a large piece of cake into his mouth and swallowed it in two or three gulps.

Perhaps it was because of Ivan's aura of a foodie, or perhaps Dumbledore was just in a spur of the moment, but after returning the smile, the greatest white wizard turned his gaze elsewhere.

After the sorting ceremony, there was still plenty of time for the young wizards to eat. Ivan ate until he could not eat any more, and Dumbledore waved his wand to remove the leftovers.

The table full of delicious food suddenly disappeared without a trace, just as it had suddenly appeared before.

The magical magic was no longer surprising to the senior wizards who had seen it many times, but it was still very novel to Ivan who was truly experiencing magic for the first time.

Dumbledore slowly stood up at this time, and the eyes of the audience were focused on the stage following Dumbledore's actions.

"Ha, now that we are all full and satisfied, I will say a few more words. I have some opening announcements to make."

Dumbledore's voice echoed in the hall, his eyes swept across the freshmen standing below the stage, and then looked at the Weasley brothers.

"Freshmen should pay special attention: the wooded area on the school grounds is off-limits to any student. I think seniors should keep this in mind as well."

"Our caretaker, Mr. Filch, asked me to remind you that no magic is allowed in the corridors between classes."

"Quidditch players will be tested in the second week..."

After briefly emphasizing the rules that apply every semester, Dumbledore paused briefly and raised his voice again.

"Finally, I must warn you. If you don't want to die miserably, don't go to the corridor on the fourth floor on your right within this year!"

After listening to this, Ivan couldn't help but complain about Dumbledore's fishing remarks.

He just said how dangerous it was, but didn't reveal any other information, nor did he even say why one couldn't go there. He acted so mysterious, how could some curious little wizards resist?

As expected, Dumbledore's stern warning did not seem to have the desired effect. A few freshmen even laughed out loud, while the senior students looked serious.

Of course, the Weasley brothers were not the ones with serious expressions. They were discussing something secretly. Ivan guessed that they were very likely to go and take a look at the corridor where people could die tragically.

But Ivan felt that before that, Dumbledore would talk to them in person, or ask the administrator Filch to keep a close eye on them.

Lest they cause any trouble...
