Douluo Continent
Heaven Dou Empire. Heaven Dou Region. Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan.
Outside the sect of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, a family of four lived in a small courtyard.
In the courtyard, a young child was exercising. The child stood about 1.2 meters tall and was around six years old. He appeared noticeably stronger than other children his age. Although his face was still youthful, he also seemed more mature, his gaze alone didn't resemble that of a typical six-year-old.
The child was training with a barbell, doing squats with a specially made one on his back, occasionally counting out loud.
"Ninety-eight, ninety-nine, one hundred!"
Only after completing one hundred squats did he finally place the barbell back on the rack. The entire rack had been custom built and didn't resemble anything from this world. Still, it ensured safety, at least it prevented the barbell from falling on him.
After finishing his workout, the boy sat alone in the yard, gulping down water and panting heavily.
A voice called out from inside the house: "Xiao xiong, come in for breakfast! Why are you lifting barbells again at your age?"
"Mom, I'll be right there after I rest a bit!"
Soon, the family of four gathered around the table for breakfast. The meal was fairly hearty, mainly consisting of buns and meat porridge.
The woman spoke up suddenly: "Xiao xiong, the sect's martial spirit awakening ceremony is tomorrow morning. Don't injure yourself before then it could cause trouble."
The child asked, somewhat confused, "Mom, why does the sect organize everyone to awaken their martial spirits together? Isn't that a privacy concern? You and Dad can do it too, why not just help me awaken mine?"
The woman gently patted his head. "Xiao xiong, the sect has its own rules. Your father and I are both outer sect members of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. We have to follow their arrangements."
The child simply muttered an "Oh" and went back to slurping his porridge.
This child's name was Yang Xiong, and he seemed far more mature and sensible than most kids his age.
What outsiders didn't know was that Yang Xiong wasn't originally from this world. He came from Earth.
Back on Earth, Yang Xiong had been an ordinary working man. Over thirty years old and still unmarried after graduating from college, he worked as a maintenance technician at a small factory.
His job was fairly stable, and his wages were passable not great, but better than most laborers.
Unfortunately, the factory was run by an exploitative boss who constantly overworked his employees. Every day brought endless tasks, and his supervisor, a workaholic, loved assigning jobs just before the end of the workday.
One night, while Yang Xiong was repairing a machine on the production line, he had nearly finished the job. But suddenly, he felt dizzy. A machine that had supposedly been powered down suddenly sparked, and his body was instantly paralyzed.
When Yang Xiong woke up again, he had become a newborn baby.
He was baffled, how could being electrocuted turn him into a baby? Was something else going on?
Around him were people in strange clothes, speaking an unfamiliar language. Everything felt noisy and disorienting.
It took several months before Yang Xiong began to realize that he had likely transmigrated into the Douluo Continent.
Although Yang Xiong worked long hours in his previous life, he had enjoyed reading novels and watching anime on weekends. Lately, he had become obsessed with the anime Douluo Dalu
He had read the novel long ago, but the anime with its incredible special effects and explosive battle scenes, felt even more immersive and thrilling.
However, actually arriving in the Douluo Continent was a completely different matter. This was a feudal society, with an extremely rigid social hierarchy. If he had been reborn as a core disciple of a powerful sect, he might have had a chance at greatness. But now? What kind of luck was this?
Yang Xiong's father was named Yang Lin, an outer sect deacon of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. He was 45 years old and had reached the level of Soul King (58th rank). His martial spirit was the Iron Sword, though it was unclear whether he could ever break through to Soul Sage.
Nevertheless, his father was full of confidence. Aside from completing sect duties, he focused entirely on training.
In the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, reaching Soul Sage would qualify one to become an outer sect elder. Reaching Soul Douluo could lead to a position as an inner sect elder. As for Titled Douluo, they were the true pillars of the clan.
Compared to other sects, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan treated its disciples relatively well, especially those in the outer sect. They were given decent access to resources.
Perhaps due to the attributes of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, the status gap between inner and outer members wasn't too significant. In fact, soul masters who didn't possess the Pagoda martial spirit often held relatively high status. By contrast, the neighboring Clear Sky Sect and Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan required their inner sect members to possess the Clear Sky Hammer or Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon martial spirits.
Yang Xiong's mother, Sun Yu, was also a soul master. Her martial spirit was a rare eye-type, and her soul power had reached level 42. She was responsible for patrol duties within the sect. Due to the uniqueness of her martial spirit, she held a minor deacon position.
There was one more member in the family Yang Wei, Yang Xiong's older brother, who also had the Iron Sword martial spirit.
Yang Wei was six years older than Yang Xiong and currently twelve years old. His soul power was only at level 21. He studied at a senior soul master academy in Heaven Dou City but had only barely met the school's entrance standards.
Yang Xiong was speechless about his family's circumstances and their martial spirits.
Being an outer sect deacon of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan might just mean being cannon fodder in the future.
As for their martial spirits, the Iron Sword looked okay on the surface, but its innate soul power was too low, and the spirit itself lacked quality. While it had some development potential, it didn't have any elite inheritance. The long-term outlook was bleak.
His mother's eye-type martial spirit could be considered top-tier in some sense. But in the first Douluo story, there was no Body Sect, nor any systematic cultivation method for body-type martial spirits. His mother clearly didn't have the kind of "plot armor" or luck that Huo Yuhao had, so her future potential was also limited.
Worse still, Yang Xiong observed that he was the same age as the clan's little princess, Ning Rongrong, which meant he was also the same age as Tang San. He had no advantage in age at all.
Yang Xiong couldn't help but feel like his transmigration was utterly unfair. He had no inherited skills like Tang San's Tang Sect techniques, nor did he have powerful bloodlines from his parents. All he could do was ask his father to build him training equipment and follow fitness methods from Earth .
Still, Yang Xiong remained confident. Even if he had nothing, he could at least use his knowledge of the story to persuade his parents to lay low when danger approached.
After all, his family were only outer sect members. The life or death of the sect had nothing to do with them. When it came to avoiding danger and seeking fortune, Yang Xiong was pretty good at it.
