Chapter 87 - A BATTLE BETWEEN EVIL AND EVIL

The battlefield was emptied of sound.

The wind stilled. The heavens darkened.

Two figures stood amidst shattered stone and smoldering air—Liu Shengjie, God of War, veiled in gold and crimson fire, and Mo Tianzun, the once Demon Lord, now returned in full regalia, with long white hair flowing like starlight and eyes cold as frost.

For the first time in twenty years, they faced one another—no longer comrades, but executioner and condemned.

"You should have stayed dead, Tianzun," Shengjie said, voice low, venomous.

Mo Tianzun's lips curled into something like a smile. "And you should've chosen a different throne."

Lightning forked across the sky. The storm responded to their fury.

Without a warning, Shengjie lunged, his divine blade flashing like the sun itself. Mo Tianzun did not move—but in the breath before impact, his black flute shifted into a slender, curved sword, forged from the Void itself. With a sharp clang, he blocked the strike.

The ground cracked from the force.

They clashed again, again, and again—each blow lighting up the heavens. Sparks and blood danced in the air. Their swords were extensions of their will: Liu Shengjie fought with blinding fury, each strike meant to obliterate. Mo Tianzun moved like a phantom, precise, silent, relentless.

"You betrayed me!" Tianzun snarled, his blade twisting Shengjie's weapon aside. "You called me brother—then stabbed me in the back!"

"You were in the way!" Shengjie spat, golden aura flaring around him like a holy inferno. "The world needed only one god to praise and it is me! not you! not the sun of god! not anyone but— me! . You—you need to die so I can succeed my plans been going on, in my head for the first day I came at your realm!"

"I was only your way?." Tianzun vanished and reappeared behind him, slashing. Shengjie barely dodged, part of his shoulder armor torn free. "You call yourself a god, but you are no more than a tyrant born of fear."

The air trembled. The sky cracked open with their fury.

Shengjie unleashed a massive golden seal, a divine rune that rained spears of light toward Tianzun.

Mo Tianzun stood firm.

He whispered a single chant, and from the void behind him, dark wings of Qi burst out, shattering the spears into dust. His eyes turned silver, burning through all illusion.

Then he ran forward, cutting straight through the golden storm, blade humming with abyssal power.

"You took everything from me," he said, his voice like winter wind. "My name. My body. My place in this world."

Their swords met once more, and this time it wasn't a clash—it was a maelstrom.

Fire clashed with shadow. Holy light against chaotic harmony. Each strike shook the earth. Mountains split. Rivers rose. The heavens wept. But neither fell.

Until…

Mo Tianzun lowered his blade.

"I have no need to defeat you," he said softly. "You've alreadylost."

Shengjie's brow furrowed. "What—"

And in that heartbeat of confusion, Tianzun's hand flared with yin energy, the opposite of Shengjie's blazing yang. He struck Shengjie's chest, not with his sword, but with his palm, directly onto the God of War's core.

A violent explosion of Qi erupted.

Shengjie staggered back, blood pouring from his mouth, his aura destabilizing.

"You're not worthy of the heavens you claim to rule," Tianzun said, walking forward, his eyes burning. "And now… they see it."

Shengjie roared, rushing forward with one last desperate slash—

But Mo Tianzun vanished from sight again. Then reappeared behind him.

With a single swing—

Tianzun shattered Shengjie's sword in a rain of golden shards.

The battlefield fell into silence.

Liu Shengjie collapsed to one knee, breathing hard. His eyes wide. "You… how…?"

Mo Tianzun stood over him, blade resting loosely in hand.

"I remembered who I am," he said. "And I'm the former lord of demon realm and not a bridge for your fucking plan."

He turned away, leaving Liu Shengjie broken on the battlefield, surrounded by the silence of his own failure.

The wind stirred once again—gentle now, like it recognized the true victor but.... Is it?
