Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Sir continued, "When I entered the jungle with the others, the first thing I saw was Riya sitting there and crying. She told us that she and Konok had just come to the jungle to look around a bit. Then they started hearing some crying sounds. As they moved toward it, they saw a woman sitting and crying. As they approached her, the woman suddenly disappeared into thin air. Since then, Konok started behaving strangely. And then… she gouged out my eyes .Saying this, Riya opened her eyes and showed us. And right after that, she jumped on everyone. Somehow, I managed to escape."

The bus fell completely silent. No one uttered a word.

"So you're saying some evil force has taken control of them?" Abir asked.

Someone in the bus said, "Sir, then what should we do?"

Sir had no answer. A strange silence spread through the bus until Anisa noticed that the crowd outside had nearly broken the door in half.

"Sir, what do we do now? They've almost broken the door," Anisa said, crying.

"We have to run," someone muttered in the crowd.

Sir said, "As soon as the door breaks, we'll have to escape. Everyone, listen carefully, stay as close to each other as you can."

The sound of the door breaking was heard.

Everyone rushed toward the door.

The bus was intact, but once they got off the bus, they split up into small groups.

Time seemed to stand still.

Everyone was running in their own direction. Though they were together at first, soon they became separated.

Tithi and Tush got separated. Dhrubo and Anu also got separated.

Abir, Monali, Dhrubo, and Tithi ran together.

Nanu, Anisa, Tush, and Anu ran as a group.

Their professor, Rana, and a few students also ran together. The rest stayed in a different group.

Abir's group ran for about 20 minutes and managed to get some distance from the bloody figures or spirits.

They sat under a tree, terrified. Anything could come from anywhere. And they had no idea where the others were or in what condition—which was very important to know. Until they got news of the others, they couldn't relax.

Fifteen minutes passed, but there was no sign of anyone.

Suddenly, they saw an old woman approaching them. She was not bloodied like the others; she looked normal. In the darkness, it was as if a light had appeared. Without wasting any time, they walked toward her. They didn't have to say anything—she started speaking.

"Why have you come here?" the old woman asked.

She continued, "Everyone in the village leaves this place at this hour, and you've come here to die?"

"No, grandma, we came from a college far away… for some academic work," Dhrubo replied.

The old woman said, "So you are the only ones left alive?"

"No, grandma, some of our friends are still alive," Abir said.

"Then come to my house. It's the safest place," the old woman offered.

"Of course, but what about the others?" Tithi asked.

"First make sure you're safe, then think about the rest," the old woman replied.

They agreed.

However, they decided that after taking some rest, they would go look for the others.

So they followed the old woman.

Within two minutes, they reached an old house.

Monali had been thinking for a while whether trusting a random old woman was the right thing to do. After all, there was no one else in this deserted village except her. Even after knowing so much, why did she stay here? Still, they had no choice but to trust her. But upon seeing the house, her doubts grew even stronger.

After entering the house, they felt a bit of mental relief.

Everything inside was normal. It looked like a regular house.

They rested for a while.

The old woman gave them water.

As they were resting, the old woman stepped outside.

For ten minutes, they were talking among themselves.

Suddenly, they heard loud banging on the door.

They all thought the same thing.

The banging continued.

They assumed the spirits might have found them.

After two minutes of continuous noise, everything went silent.

Suddenly, they heard a door opening from the back of the house.

They all rushed toward the front door and tried to open it. But the door wouldn't budge.

Someone had locked it from the outside.

Suddenly, blood dripped in front of them.

Everyone screamed in terror.
