Bang!!!!
With a bang, the Poké Ball opened, and a blue light flashed. Then, blinding electric sparks scattered everywhere. Seeing this, everyone was startled, and Shigeru and the others quickly dodged.
"Hey! Satoshi, what are you doing?" After the electric sparks gradually disappeared, Shigeru was a little annoyed. The other two were also gasping for air, clearly frightened.
"I just reminded you!" Professor Oak sighed helplessly. He muttered to himself, Is it still not enough?
As the electric current dissipated, a creature with long, pointed ears and yellow fur all over appeared before everyone's eyes.
Its black eyes were vigilantly watching its surroundings, and its cheeks, as if imprinted with two red blush marks, occasionally sparked with electricity.
There were three brown strips of fur behind it, and its tail was shaped like a lightning bolt, thick at the end.
"Pika Pika!!!"
"So cute! But… it looks kind of angry." Just from its appearance, it was definitely a Pokémon that would attract girls' attention. You could tell just by looking at Blue now.
However, the situation just now made her not dare to approach, and she could feel that it seemed to be hostile towards all of them.
"Is that Pikachu?" Shigeru, being Professor Oak's grandson after all, could still recognize what Pokémon it was.
"That's right. Normally, Pikachu aren't afraid of humans, but this one doesn't seem to like human contact. If you get close to it, it'll be like it was just now. That's why I said choosing it might cause problems. So, Satoshi, do you still want to choose it?"
Professor Oak explained the situation with this Pikachu. In fact, he also had a headache. It was quite dangerous for a novice trainer to use such a Pokémon, so he confirmed with Satoshi again.
Blue and the others remained silent after hearing this, looking towards Satoshi. Shigeru, on the other hand, spoke up.
"Satoshi, I think it's better to let Grandpa help you think of another way! Otherwise, if you lose to me later, don't say I bullied you." Shigeru put his hands behind his head, pretending to be nonchalant.
"No need, Professor. I'll just choose Pikachu!" Satoshi shook his head slightly, then looked at Pikachu and slowly squatted down. Seeing this, Pikachu also retreated a few steps cautiously, its claws on the ground, ready to attack at any moment.
"Don't be afraid! You don't like being in a Poké Ball, do you? It's okay, I won't force you into a Poké Ball." "Considering this, at least for now, can we get along peacefully?" Satoshi squatted down, slowly extended his hand, but didn't touch it, instead speaking gently. In fact, Pikachu's biggest problem was its unwillingness to be in a Poké Ball, and Satoshi wasn't unwilling to accept this. He hadn't planned on recalling Pikachu anyway.
"Hmm??" Professor Oak, who was nearby, was a little surprised upon hearing Satoshi's words. He only thought that this Pikachu had a unique personality and didn't like human contact, but he had never considered this point. As a Pokémon Professor, he naturally believed that Pokémon should be inside Poké Balls. But he didn't expect Satoshi to actually think of this. Were there Pokémon who didn't like being in Poké Balls? The answer was definitely yes.
"Pika~~" Pikachu frowned slightly upon hearing Satoshi's words. Although it was still wary, it seemed Pikachu was somewhat swayed by Satoshi.
"You don't want to? If not, you might have to stay here, continue to stay in the Poké Ball! Even if someone else is willing to let you stay outside, you'll still be recalled in special situations." Watching this scene, Satoshi tilted his head slightly, his outstretched hand still not retracted.
"Pika…" Listening to Satoshi's words, Pikachu seemed to fall into a dilemma. It was clear that even Pokémon could understand; Pokémon were much smarter than pets in his previous life.
"How about it?"
"Pika!"
Finally, Pikachu retracted its attacking stance. Its body stood up again, becoming bipedal. Its two short arms were crossed in front of its chest, and its head was turned to the side, eyes closed. It was clearly a compromise, but with a hint of tsundere.
"Pikachu, please take care of me. I'm Satoshi!" Satoshi smiled at the sight, and slightly raised his hand in a gesture. Seeing this, Pikachu slightly opened one eye, glanced, and finally extended its tail to rest on Satoshi's hand, not initiating any more attacks.
Everyone else was surprised by this scene. Just now, tensions were high, and they didn't expect a few words to resolve everything. Satoshi's palm made contact with Pikachu's tail, then he slowly closed his eyes, attempting to connect with Pikachu using his own power. As Pikachu was being tsundere, its long ears twitched. It seemed to notice. The consciousness of both parties seemed to enter a different space, causing Pikachu's emotions to gradually calm down.
"Pikachu!" Moments later, Pikachu suddenly opened its eyes and looked at Satoshi, whose eyes were bright. A bond had formed between them. "Come on!" Satoshi said, taking the opportunity. Pikachu hesitated for a moment upon hearing him, then hopped onto Satoshi's palm and then climbed up Satoshi's arm onto his shoulder.
"It seems there's no problem now. Satoshi is truly amazing." Professor Oak couldn't help but praise. Satoshi had noticed details that even he, as a professor, hadn't. This showed how carefully he observed Pokémon. It was only natural for a trainer who cared for Pokémon in such a way to gain Pokémon's approval.
"Grandpa, is it our turn next?" Seeing Satoshi choose Pikachu, Shigeru was also a little impatient.
"Alright, then the remaining three, you can discuss and decide which one to choose!" With the problem solved, Professor Oak was in a good mood and motioned for the three of them to choose their Pokémon.
PS: This is actually a BUG. In the anime, Professor Oak said Pikachu was shy, introverted, and afraid of humans, but in reality, Pikachu is often drawn to cities by electricity, and even attracted by household appliances, running into people's homes. So, I'm correcting this BUG. It might also be because it's hard to find the Japanese version now, so it might be due to the Chinese translation of the anime!
