Mila's world was simple — quiet mornings, sun-warmed walks, and a heart still mending from the echoes of love lost. She had learned the hard way that giving too much of yourself often left you with too little.
Today felt different. The wind whispered secrets in her ear as she crossed the narrow path behind her apartment complex. The sky threatened rain, but something else stirred in the air… like fate holding its breath.
She didn't expect to see him.
A figure stood by the corner stall where she bought her favorite coconut bread. He was tall, dressed in dark jeans and a deep green jacket. His eyes… they were like a thunderstorm, wild and searching.
Their gaze locked.
Her breath caught.
"Hi," he said, voice smooth but quiet. "Mila, right?"
Her stomach flipped.
She had never seen him before — yet he knew her name.
"Do I… know you?" she asked, taking a careful step back.
He didn't answer right away. Instead, he smiled, just a little. It wasn't flirtatious. It was sad.
"No. But I think you're someone who's meant to know me."

And why did her heart suddenly start racing like it recognized something her mind didn't?
Before she could ask more, he turned around and walked away. No name. No explanation. Just a lingering presence that clung to the wind.
Mila stood there, the coconut bread forgotten in her hand.
