Those green eyes filled with mystery. Seraph couldn't help but feel mesmerized by the beauty of the man before her. Who was he?
He stood there, his hands still outstretched to her—she took it and he helped her up.
She adjusted the back of her dress wiping the sand off her behind them faced the man who looked at her intensely. Did he know her from somewhere?
"Thank you." She said with a small smile when the cold air hit her again making her teeth clatter. The man saw her shaking state and took off his cloak, putting it on her. "Do you have a place to stay?" The man inquired and Seraph wanted to say no but realised that she had no other way of getting help.
It may be dangerous, she didn't know him, so how can she just follow him home, he could take advantage of her or worse kill her. She was demon, she would be fine. If she got into danger she would use her powers.
"Can you hear me?" The man asked again, waving his palm in front of Seraph. She blinked, coming back to her senses. "I'm lost and I don't have a place to stay, can you please help me out?"
"Follow me." He ordered and started walking in a direction. Hesitantly, Seraph followed. They walked until they got to a small cabin. He pushed the door open and entered into the building.
Seraph looked around the shabby cabin, broken slabs, termite-infested floors, a scattered bed at the corner of the room and a bucket of water by the entrance. It felt as though it hadn't seen warmth in ages.
It was cramped but she had to bear with it for the night, tomorrow—hopefully she would be at the palace and probably be more comfortable.
She walked into the room and closed the door behind her, the man pulled out a chair and sat then pointed at the bed for her to sit. She sat on the bed and faced him, silence echoed in the room. All that could be heard was their soft breaths.
Seraph wanted to speak when the man spoke first. "I'm Sebastian and you are?" He asked straight forwardly, which made her a bit flustered. "I'm Seraphina, Seraph for short—" she replied.
"What are you doing alone in the cold, you don't seem to be from around here." He questioned and she rubbed against the cloak. What was with these people and these weird questions.
"I'm a nobleman's maid, we came for the announcement and we're on our way to the palace when I got lost and started wandering until you found me." She replied, rubbing the back of her neck and he nodded. He seemed to have believed her.
She let out a breath, she was getting good at this lying stuff. "I'll take you there tomorrow, I'm going there as well." He said.
"Thank you so much, I really appreciate it." She said and he nodded and once again, silence filled the room. Seraph felt uncomfortable, they weren't talking, just staring at each other which made her feel so intimidated.
"Are you hungry?" He asked.
Finally, he spoke. She couldn't bear one more minute of silence.
"Yes, I'm quite hungry."
He stood up and moved to an inner part of the cabin.
Seraph yawned from exhaustion, stretching her hands in the air then covering her mouth with her palm. Maybe she could get a little bit of sleep before he came with the food.
No, she couldn't just sleep off in a strange man's house, what if he tries something in her sleep? Her mind fought but exhaustion won.
She rested on the bed and shut her eyes, covering herself with the cloak and soon after, she slept off.
Sebastian walked into the room, holding the plate of food only to see Seraph on the bed, all covered in his cloak but her feet weren't covered and he could see her twisting her toes.
He dropped the plate and ambled across the room. He reached for the cloak and covered her feet with it, his cold green eyes not leaving her small frame.
His eyes moved around her body making sure she was properly tucked when he saw the amulet tied around her neck, his interest in her grew. That amulet was not something gotten easily and it made him wonder who she was?
Nobleman's maid? Did she think he was stupid?
Either way, he wanted to go to the palace and he would take her with him.

THE NEXT DAY.
The golden rays of the morning sun peeked through the broken window, hitting the sleeping figure on the mattress. She rubbed the back of her palm over her eyes, trying to block the sunlight hitting her but it work, it still hit her eyes and slowly made her get up.
She peeled the cloak off her and looked around. The place was empty, her eyes moved to the table and she saw the food from yesterday. He still brought it but she was already fast asleep...
She wondered how she was able to sleep on an empty stomach.
She walked around the house but couldn't find him, where did he go?
She was about to yell his name, when the front door was pushed open. She snapped her head to the door and saw Sebastian walking in with a bucket of water in hand.
He faced her. "Good, you're awake. Here's some water, have a shower and come outside, I'll be waiting for you."
He dropped the bucket and was about to walk away when her voice stopped him. "Thanks but I'm fine, I can go this way."
What did she mean by "go this way?"
How was she planning on getting into the palace looking and also smelling like that?
He moved to her—closing the space between them which made her chest tighten. What was that??
He sniffed her and scrunched his nose. "You stink and can't go to the palace like that, I'll get you some clothes now go to the shower."
With that, he continued his walk, leaving her there—stunned. What was that?
Why did she react that way? She barely even knew him and was already feeling breathless whenever he comes close to her.
"Stop those stupid thoughts Sera...." She said, smacking her forehead.
She sighed and brought her armpit to her nose and immediately pulled out—disgusted. She really needed a bath.
She walked to the buckets and tried to carry it but failed, it was incredibly heavy. How did he make it seem so easy?
She was about to try again when he stepped out of a room. "Let me help you." He said and lifted the bucket like it was nothing and walked to the bathroom.
How did he know without her asking?
She didn't want to ask anything so she just obliged and followed him to the bathroom. He dropped the bucket and walked out—shutting the doors.
Seraph made sure to double check. The door before taking her clothes off. She let the water cool her system, a light moan escaped her lips—how relaxing...
Her mind reeled back to her purpose, her mission here. Finally, today was finally here and she would go to the palace and start her mission, she didn't need any distraction like Sebastian.
Thinking about him made her wonder. Why did he want to go to the palace?
Maybe he had something to do there.. She concluded as she cleaned herself.
She stayed for some minutes then was about to step out when she realised that she didn't have a towel..shootttt.
She was about to call for him when she remembered that she was witch, who had powers...
She waved her fingers in the air murmuring a small spell her mother had taught her. It was called the creation spell used in making anything one could imagine.
She closed her eyes and thought of a towel, flickering her fingers in the air and then the towel formed from thin air, it landed on her hands. She dried herself and threw the towel around her body. She picked her dress and walked out of the room.
She unlocked the doors and walked out and at that moment, Sebastian walked in with a beautiful dress in hand. He looked up and when he saw her, clad in just a towel which barely reached her thighs he felt something growl inside him..
