Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"Where... am I?"

"Why does the ground feel so slimy?"

As Vega slowly opened his eyes, a sharp pain surged through his head—like something was stirring inside his brain, stabbing at his nerves.

"I remember... I was watching anime and launching a game to play both at once. Then... the screen went black and started smoking…"

Clutching his head, Vega tried to recall what happened.

"Did it... explode?"

The last thing he remembered was a spark on the screen. Then came a loud pop, shards of plastic flying everywhere, a burning pain across his face—and then everything went black.

Now, as he regained consciousness, he realized something was off.

"Where is this place?"

Looking around, his eyes widened in terror. He was in a strange room. Around him, corpses lay in pools of blood. Bullet casings littered the ground, and walls were riddled with bullet holes.

It looked like a warzone—this place had clearly seen a fierce gunfight. It wasn't somewhere any normal person should ever find themselves.

Still shaken, Vega struggled to sit up and escape. But as he moved, a rush of foreign memories began to flood his mind.

The Zoldyck family… V5… The Ten Dons… Yorknew… Meteor City… Heaven's Arena…

Weren't these all names from Hunter x Hunter?

As more and more information poured in, it finally clicked.

"I've transmigrated… into the world of Hunter x Hunter."

A chill ran down his spine.

The Hunter x Hunter world was no joke. It was a brutal, survival-of-the-fittest kind of place. Strength ruled everything. The underworld thrived, crime was rampant, and even professional assassins like the Zoldycks were public figures—and tourist attractions.

Meteor City, a place of pure lawlessness, was considered normal here.

This was a dark and dangerous world—full of exotic beasts, ancient ruins, and the mysterious Dark Continent. Add to that the powerful, versatile energy system known as Nen, and it made the world incredibly thrilling… but terrifying.

If he had simply reincarnated into this world, that might've been manageable. He could train in secret, build up his strength, and eventually take the Hunter Exam, just like Gon did. That was the safest and most "normal" route.

But fate had other plans.

He hadn't just transmigrated—he'd been dropped into a nightmare.

The year was 1996. He had become Vega Pengelle, the 15-year-old son of a mafia boss.

And just hours ago, his family—the Pengelle family—had been attacked by a rival gang, the Shelbys. One of the Pengelle family's top executives had been bribed a year ago, and today's ambush had been meticulously planned.

The senior leadership of the family was assassinated in one clean strike. The entire organization collapsed almost overnight, leaving it vulnerable.

Vega, now the boss's son, tried to flee the city with the help of a few loyal bodyguards. But the Shelbys wouldn't let him go that easily.

Within hours, his face was plastered on wanted posters all over the city. The Shelbys unleashed their goons to hunt him down.

And worse… there were traitors among his own guards.

They were ambushed in a safehouse. Though the traitors were killed, the Shelbys launched a full assault. After a brutal shootout, the guards were slaughtered—and Vega himself was shot and killed.

That was when the transmigration happened. Vega's soul had taken over this dying body.

But his troubles weren't over. If the gang's clean-up crew returned to dispose of bodies and found him alive…

He'd be executed on the spot.

Just then—

Boom.

Something erupted inside his body. A strange energy surged through his veins.

Aura… Nen…

His body went limp from exhaustion, and he collapsed.

Then suddenly, glowing green text appeared before his eyes.

Ding! System activation complete.

A stream of information filled his mind. Then, a crisp electronic voice rang out:

"System online."

"Have a good game."
