In the busy streets of the crowded city, there walked a pretty lady let's call her.. Mariam..
So.. She walked out of the company she works in, after usual tiresome day in the office, she went to the usual café and had her usual coffee with extra milk (she loved milk),she took her coffee and sat down sipping on it, trying to unwind after the long day in the office.. She glanced outside the window, seeing the sidewalk crowded with people going on about their days and cars filling the roads as always.. She sighed to herself.. Life has been the same as usual.. Just work and living with her family, as she looked outside she saw a flyer on the street walls with an advertisement, it was an ad for a.. Cruise ship trip.. The idea intruiged her, two days away from the whole loud city and stressful office work, she went outside and stood in front of the ad then she called the number on it and booked a ticket for herself. Being excited for the change of events she went home, greeted her parents, then she sat down and ate dinner with them talking about all various stuff.. As they were eating Mariam cleared her throat, looking at both her parents and then telling them about the idea of the two day vacation on the cruise ship, at first they were contemplating it.. But they ended up agreeing, she was a grown lady after all. She went to her room and starting packing a bag with all the clothes she would need, then she went to sleep.
The next morning, the sun rays peaked through the fabric of the curtains, illuminating a gentle orange streak on Mariam's pretty face, she rubbed her eyes groggily and sat up, yawning and stretching her arms, she walked to the bathroom and looked in the mirror.. Her hair being disheveled, she took a warm bath.. As usual she took too long in there.. Then she got ready and took her bag, saying goodbye to her parents and driving her car to the cruise ship location. After a long trip, she finally arrived, she got out of her car and looked at the huge cruise ship in the water, the pier being crowded by people walking around and admiring the sea, others waiting in the line to get on the cruise ship. Mariam walked excitedly with her bag in her hand and the ticket in the other, a girl from the working crew on the ship greeted her and took the ticket "Welcome aboard Miss, we hope you have a great trip", Mariam smiled and thanked the lady then walked inside, the cruise ship was like a huge hotel inside, there was a restaurant, a lobby, and there was a big pool on the top floor. Mariam walked to the lobby and showed the receptionist the booking, they gave her the keys to her room then she walked there and took the elevator to the second floor and found her room. She happily admired the cozy small room containing a single bed, a small minibar fridge with some water bottles and fizzy drinks in it, and a bathroom. She sat on the bed and looked outside the window room, seeing the sea outside.. She already felt relaxed, as the ship started moving, Mariam saw the pier dimishing as they moved further in the sea. Mariam relaxed in the room, she did some hair routine and relaxed on the bed for a while.. When lunch time came, Mariam got dressed and went to the restaurant she saw earlier.. She looked around the open buffet, seeing all the various kinds of food, I mean.. Who doesn't like open buffets. She got herself a nice plate of food and sat down to eat on a table for one. As she was eating a little girl came up to her and tugged on her shirt gently, she looked up at Mariam in an adorable way, Mariam giggled and patted the girl's head making her smile then running to her mother. After Mariam had her meal, feeling drowsy from the long drive and the food combined, she went back to her room to have a nap..Sleeping like a baby as the ship gentle moves with the movement of the calm sea. After a couple of hours Mariam woke up, looking outside the window it was already nighttime, the view being pitch black in the calm sea.. Yet the starry night sky looking captivating, Mariam noticed it was very quiet but decided to go for a walk around the cruise ship. She put on her slippers and walked outside the room, it was very quiet in the hallways.. She took the elevator to the top floor of the cruise ship which was the open-air floor, she walked admiring the calm and quiet view of the pool in the middle, sitting down on a pool lounge chair, she couldn't help but get this eery feeling.. There was no person in sight.. Could everyone really be asleep?.. How did the cruise ship go from packed with people to this quiet state..she wondered. A couple of minutes went by but suddenly.. Mariam heard a footstep behind her and jumped up a bit, holding her heart "ah!", The guy stopped walking, he smiled and rubbed the back of his head, he was wearing a black classic shirt and black classic pants, "oh sorry.. Didn't Mean to scare you there..", he sat down on the chair beside hers. She shook her head "ah it's fine I just.. You came out of nowhere", he chuckled a bit "hah yeah.. Sorry about that.. I was just wondering how quiet it is you know.. I haven't seen anyone for a while now..", her eyes widened "right?? I was wondering the same too.."
He looked at her and nodded.. Even though the whole setting was uneasy.. He couldn't help but admire her pretty face for a couple of seconds.. Yet he hid it well "I know right.. That's so strange.. I'm relieved there is someone else" he said. She looked the other way a bit feeling a bit bashful "me too.. I was starting to worry".
He looks at her and tilts his head slightly "so.. Ahem.. Im Ali" he smiled, trying to lighten up the mood, she smiled back, "nice to meet you Ali.. Im Mariam". He nodded "pleasure's all mine to meet you".
After a couple of minutes in silence, she looked at him "so.. Ali.. What do you do for a living?".
He looked at her back "oh I'm a lawyer, what about you?". She smiled "that's interesting,i work in an office in a big company.. You know.. Just usual office work, boring.. Tiring", he nodded his head "yeah I can understand that, it's nice to have a break and unwind for a while", she smiled wider "definitely, that's why I'm here".
They both chatted for a while about day-to-day things, laughed together and got to know each other more..after a while they went quiet, just relaxing and admiring the pretty night sky, she cleared her throat "so Ali.. Do you think everyone on the ship just.. Vanished..? Would I be crazy to consider that?".. He shook his head "no you wouldn't, I looked around the cruise ship before I came here and met you, I went through every floor.. Even the restaurant and the lobby, no one is there, Mariam crossed her arms, being a bit worried about the mysterious disappearing of everyone, Ali noticed that and gave her a gentle pat on the arm "hey.. It's gonna be fine", she smiled, his presence helping her calm down a bit "thanks.. It's just.. So confusing... I cant comprehend it", he nods "yeah it sure is.."
Her tummy grumbled a low noise, she blushed and looked the other way.. He smiled gently "hey.. Wanna go to the restaurant?".. She nodded bashfully "y.. Yeah.. Im a bit hungry", he stood up "come on let's go".. They both walked together and took the elevator to the first floor, the cruise ship being completely empty from people, they entered the restaurant and Looked through the open buffet partitions but unfortunately.. It was all empty, Mariam sighed.. Ali looked at her "hey.. I can go in the staff kitchen and cook us something.. I guess there's no one here after all"
Surpised by the generous offer.. Mariam smiled "I mean.. I don't wanna be a burden but if you'd like to I wouldn't say no to some pasta.." she giggled, his smile widened at her giggle.. He found it very adorable and ladylike. He nodded and went inside the kitchen, cooking them some pasta, as he got out he playfully put a handkerchief over his arm and put down the plate on the table in front of Mariam "here ma'am.. As you ordered it" he says playfully as if acting like a waiter, she chuckled at the act and played along "oh thank you garcon~" , they both laughed and then he sat down, smiling at her " this recipe is called marry me pasta".. She looked at him and blushed a bit, he noticed and cleared his throat "ah.. Well.. It's um.. Really called that.. Heh" he rubbed the back of his head In a bashful manner. She nodded "t.. Thanks for cooking then, let's eat". They both started eating, the dish being tasty, they both ate in silence, she looked at him briefly as he was eating and didn't notice.. Quietly admiring his face. She wiped her mouth as she finished eating "that was.. Very tasty, thanks Ali", he smiled at her "aw thank you.. No worries, I'm glad you liked it"
They both sat for a while next to each other, she looked up at him slightly, her eyes being beautiful and still carrying a note of worry, he noticed that and gently cupped her cheek, she was surprised by that move and blushed, lookin at him in an adorable manner, he smiled gently "it will be alright I promise..", she nodded, still feeling flustured. "you're.. Very pretty you know..?" he said In a gentle tone.. She smiled slightly through her blushing mess "th.. Thank you.. You're.. Really handsome", his smile widened "oh.. Well I haven't heard that before from Such a pretty lady", she giggled, leaning her head on his shoulder "it's quite hard to believe this is all happening you know Ali.. I mean.. Everyone disappeared.. We just met randomly yet it feels so..".. He looked down at her gently "right",she nodded "exactly.. Im.. Glad you're here".. They sat in silence a bit, his thumb gently brushed her soft cheek as his hand was cupping it.. She hummed gently and closed her eyes feeling comforted by his gentle touch.. Soon enough she fell asleep against his shoulder, he looked down at her admiring her adorable sleeping face, he gently patted her cheek and carried her up in his arms, walking to his room and gently laying her in the bed,laying beside her but leaving some space.
The next morning Ali woke up, feeling someone waking him Up gently "hey Ali.. Wake up" she said In a soft tone, he rubbed his eyes and sat up, waking up to her pretty face and soft tone.. He couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness in his heart.. It's like a dream. "since I fell asleep and you brought me here I thought I could repay you.. I made breakfast" she said, he smiled and tilted his head "oh you didn't have to do that.. Thank you", she smiled and sat down beside him on the bed, they both eating breakfast.. "so.. Still no signs of Anyone?" he looked at her, she shook her head "yeah..still no one.. But I'm glad there is atleast a stock of food and water.. We wouldn't have survived without it".. He nods "yeah you're right.. This is all so strange Mariam.. It's like some kind of fantasy movie", she nodded her head "yeah you're right.. No one would probably believe us.. That if we.. Well.. Got back" she sighs.. He looked at her"hey I promised you we will survive this.. Don't worry",after they both eat, he stands up "come with me".. She tilts her head "huh.. Where to?", he walked to the room door "come I'll show you" they both search the whole ship.. They found no one but there are still resources enough for surviving, they went to the ship control room and stand in front of the steering wheel. "so.. I've never actually driven a boat.. Let out a huge cruise ship.. But if we manage we can get back to land safely", she nodded her head looking at him with a dedicated look, they both keep working and trying hard to figure out the way of controlling the ship, in the end they manage to turn it back, making it move back towards the land "okay.. I guess it'll take another day but atleast we are on the correct path.." he sits down , she does so too.. Nodding "yes.. Im glad..", they both sat down looking at the calm sea.. The sun reflecting on the surface of the water, she leaned her head on his shoulder a bit, his hand gently reached up to caress her hair, playing with it gently. She looked up at him.. Whispering gently"i.. Like you a lot Ali. I know it might not be the time but.. ", he gently put a finger on her lips" shh.. It's fine.. I like you too.. Or perhaps I.. Love you.. "he leans down.. His finger drop down from her lips making her soft pink lips open a bit, he gently kissed her, hugging her gently to his body, after awhile they broke the kiss, panting and taking their breaths.. He looked at her lovingly.. And so she did..
After nighttime came they went to the room and feel asleep, cuddling warmly in the bed. The next morning.. Ali wakes up Mariam gently "Mariam.. We've done it we are back!". Mariam sat up, looking outside the window, seeing the pier that she took the cruise ship from,she stood up excitedly and hugged Ali "see.. I promised you" he Said gently, she smiled and nodded, her face in his chest "yes..you did and we're here.."
They both got off.. Seeing people walking around the pier normally.. Though no one would ever believe them if they told the story.. So they decide to keep it in and go on with their lives.. The mystery of the cruise ship never being solved.. But a new life starting.. They both kept working as they did but they went on some dates together.. Hanged out a couple of times and then decided to Marry, living happily together, even with the odd event they met at, keeping it a secret between just them.
