Chapter 20 - Payment and Arrival at Shrek Academy

[Healing in progress...]

[Payment detected: Martial Spirit Fusion Link]

[Would you like to absorb it?]

Wu Lan instantly accepted, keeping a calm face as he continued healing, but inside, he was shouting with joy.

If my guess is right, this will allow Dai Mubai to fuse his Martial Spirit with Zhu Zhuqing Martial spirit.

But now, that link is mine.

Which means Dai Mubai can no longer fuse with Zhu Zhuqing, but Zhu Zhuqing will be able to fuse with me.

That means, aside from their engagement, there will be no connection between the two of them. She'll draw close to me for strength.

So I just got Zhu Zhuqing as a "payment" from Dai Mubai...

Thinking this, Wu Lan sincerely thanked Dai Mubai in his heart for his generosity.

The white healing light faded. Dai Mubai came out of his daze and, without his usual arrogance, said, "Your healing is really strong. Thanks. Even some of my older injuries were healed."

"It's alright. Little San was at fault for using poison," Wu Lan replied politely, though his words poured oil onto Dai Mubai's fire.

Hearing this, Dai Mubai remembered Tang San's actions and glared at him angrily. They must be here for the Shrek Academy entrance test. Just wait. I'll have my revenge there.

"You three are going to Shrek Academy, right? We'll see each other again. Remember my name, Dai Mubai." With that, he turned and left.

After Dai Mubai was gone, Xiao Wu grabbed the room key and dragged Wu Lan inside, leaving Tang San standing alone in the hallway.

Inside the room, Xiao Wu noticed the bed was covered in rose petals and ran over curiously.

Wu Lan closed the door, walked up to her, and said with a soft grin, "Rabbit, you've become bold... dragging me into a room alone."

Xiao Wu blushed instantly and lowered her face. But Wu Lan lifted her chin, and before she could say anything, his lips covered hers.

Xiao Wu's eyes widened in surprise before closing, feeling happy and warm. She leaned into him, enjoying the moment.

They stayed like that for a long while, until, once again, their moment was interrupted by his Martial Spirit acting like a jealous woman.

Xiao Wu got angry and chased the Sacred Orchid, which dodged and hid behind Wu Lan. He couldn't help but laugh hard at their antics.

Later, Wu Lan quietly fused the Martial Spirit Fusion Link into his body, though he didn't feel anything right away.

Maybe I'll only feel the change once I meet Zhu Zhuqing...

He did some light exercises to stay warm, planning to go out with Xiao Wu to play and eat something.

But Tang San tagged along, which made Xiao Wu visibly irritated.

They began walking around the city.

As they moved, Wu Lan reflected on his progress.

His soul power had reached level 45, terrifying for someone only 12 years old.

His physical strength was so immense that he could easily defeat anyone under level 70, and even fight against under level 80 opponents, though not win unless he used his Trump cards.

He had tested his strength in many disguises, accumulating a lot of real combat experience.

His "Destroy to Evolve" method had proven effective, but now progress had slowed. His massive strength and the regenerative boost from the Golden Dragon Bloodline, especially the 10% gain from Tang Hao, had pushed his body to the limit.

But recently, the Golden Dragon bloodline had stopped growing even with huge amount of vitality. It was like it hit a barrier, missing something vital.

Still, it had given Wu Lan a deep understanding of destruction.

He couldn't fully control it, but he could coat his fists with Destruction Element, enough to instantly kill soul masters under level 60. As for higher levels, he had limited data.

Once, while traveling, a level 64 soul master tried to kidnap them because healing martial spirits were rare.

But the moment he touched Wu Lan's destruction-covered fist, he shattered into ashes.

Since then, Wu Lan estimated that he might even injure a level 80, though he wasn't certain.

The rest of his physical strength came from passive attribute increases gained from his self-condensed soul ring.

So Wu Lan paused training his self-destructive method and focused on traveling, healing, and gathering faith.

While walking, they came across a shop that looked a bit strange. Xiao Wu grew curious, so they went inside.

Wu Lan instantly recognized the shop owner, the scammer Flander.

Tang San quickly locked eyes on a hair crystal, the same one he used to defeat Zhao Wuji in the original story.

Tang San started bargaining, but Flander kept raising the price.

However, after noticing the Twenty-Four Bridge belt on Tang San's waist, Flander let him take the hair crystal for free. Tang San was confused but took it happily.

After playing around for a while, the three returned to the hotel and split up.

Tang San went off to test the hair crystal, while Wu Lan and Xiao Wu returned to their room, cuddling together before drifting off to sleep.

The next morning...

After waking up refreshed, they trained Purple Demon Eye together and then started heading to Shrek Academy.

After asking for directions, the three of them finally arrived at a remote area, where they saw a long queue of people.

They stood in line and soon heard murmurs spreading through the crowd. The environment around them was... unimpressive.

Xiao Wu turned to Tang San with dangerous eyes and said coldly, "Tang San, is this the academy you were talking about?"

Tang San also froze in shock at the sight of the rundown academy. Just as he was about to respond

A loud commotion broke out up front.

Several parents were arguing with an old man about the admission fees. Suddenly, Dai Mubai appeared, revealing his soul rings to intimidate everyone, just like in the original story.

The old man then explained the rules, calmly unleashing six soul rings, scaring the crowd into submission.

Many people left immediately.

Soon, a girl with long brown hair and a blue dress stepped forward to take the test.

Just then, Wu Lan suddenly felt something calling to him. He turned around and looked into the distance...
