Kaguya was sealed, Hamura and Hagoromo thought their father was dead, and they both eventually entered a state of spiritual manifestation that was supported by their lingering chakra, no longer getting involved with the world, while their mother killing humans indiscriminately was unacceptable, they didn't seem to mind humans killing themselves as much.

Inside the most luxurious building of the newly established Tsukigakure.
Hachiman had been making all the preparations he needed before attaching himself to the miniature God Tree, as he wouldn't be able to do much once he started the "upgrade" process.
He wrote down stacks upon stacks of instructions that could literally last a thousand years and addressed every situation his chakra enhanced brain could think of.
After doing all of this, he immediately got to work, having set up everything needed in the Land of the Moon, they could deal with everything on their own, so Hachiman made his way to the place he was planning to get his chakra from, the Kingdom of Roran, home to the legendary Ryumyaku, the dragon vein said to be an inexhaustible source of pure chakra.
This kingdom was located west of the Land of Wind and was surrounded by vast deserts, it took Hachiman three months just to reach his destination, and that's considering he used his previously deployed Raijin seals to teleport a third of the way there.
After arriving, he didn't see the futuristic city that was shown in the movie, instead, all he saw was a massive pothole that opened a direct line of view into the deep purple primordial chakra sea flowing underground as if it were a magma river, an eerie sight that struck a sense of insecurity over one's own chakra reserves, it really pissed Hachiman off that the movie where this place was shown only introduced stupid and wasteful uses of this amazing treasure by mediocre characters.
Additionally, Hachiman had always been curious about the origin of this supposedly infinite source of chakra, since they're called the dragon veins, he imagined there might have once been a dragon land similar to Mount Myoboku or Ryuchi Cave, and maybe this was their chakra storage or remaining treasure.
However, it was clearly more likely to just be a randomly chosen cool name for it, as for its origins?
It's probably similar to natural energy, but he clearly remembered the fact that this seemed to be regular chakra, or at the very least it was chakra that could be safely used, so he couldn't understand the true nature of this treasure.
All he needed to know is that this chakra was usable, though, so he planned to utilize the God Tree's sapling to infuse the entire Ryumyaku into his body–as long as he didn't explode, he would be able to create the closest thing he could to an immortal body with infinite chakra.
Although that was only the best case scenario, he would probably not be worse than an Otsutsuki that consumed a chakra fruit at all, especially considering how he planned to infuse natural energy into his chakra to develop a permanent stage of Sage Mode.
If he could succeed in acquiring near infinite senjutsu chakra, he was honestly not afraid of anyone, the only issue was actually possessing a body that could handle this energy.
The reason he had some confidence in this was his Stairway to Godhood technique, after decades of use, his body was naturally in the state he called the second step to Godhood.
This meant that he now always had the increased oxygen absorption and increased activity level, the first step; the second step he unlocked was perfect control over his body, extreme improvement in reaction time, memory and all senses, this was basically like One Piece's seimei kikan technique and could not only be used for creative offense, but also to manipulate his body to reduce the damage from attacks he knew were going to hit him and to optimize his body's healing functions.
With the help of the Ryumyaku chakra, natural energy, and the God Tree sapling, Hachiman wanted to permanently reach what he envisioned as the seventh step to Godhood, but he had to experience the process to truly know how far he could go.
Now, the problem Hachiman was facing was deciding whether to move the Ryumyaku or the God Tree sapling; the former was more troublesome than helpful, so he immediately thought of bringing the tree here, after all, Tsukigakure was ready to work like a machine even without him, and their curse marks were designed to be passed down through blood even in his absence.
But on second thought, he felt that maybe letting the literal chakra devouring tree come into direct contact with the Ryumyaku wasn't a great idea.
So Hachiman finally made his choice, he was going to store the Ryumyaku in an alternate dimension, then let it gradually merge with natural energy through a self-inscribed curse mark, then he would absorb, stabilize and permanently acquire that senjutsu chakra with the help of the God Tree and his Stairway to Godhood technique.
While it sounded similar to switching eyeballs like light bulbs, it was definitely more complicated, he would have to find a way to create an enhanced version the Eight Trigrams seal and find a way to create a curse mark that could help him make stable senjutsu chakra, the main problem here was the sheer magnitude of the energy he would have to manipulate.
He could already make an Eight Trigrams seal, and for the sake of not wasting time, he decide to make what was essentially a space-time drain pipe that allowed the Ryumyaku chakra to teleport directly into the space of the seal–the reason was that teleporting the Ryumyaku to a separate dimension with a special method would actually be more efficient.
Normally, regular teleportation is significantly less chakra consuming than traveling between dimensions, but considering the simplicity of the space inside the Eight Trigrams seal and the fact that he could facilitate the teleportation by basically making the seal space easy to tap into after initial connection, this would be much more cost-effective than teleporting the entire Ryumyaku, he could probably make it a self-sustaining system too, it only required a few tweaks in the seals that basically made them bypass the space-time between it and the Ryumyaku–after first contact, it would flow like a river.
After making a decision, Hachiman immediately created a shadow clone and made him dive into the Ryumyaku, after a few seconds, the ridiculously active and turbulent chakra managed to seep into the clone and force it to disperse–this was exactly what Hachi wanted to see.
Realizing he was in luck, he immediately applied a slightly modified Eight Trigrams seal to his abdomen and descended into the sea of purple chakra.
As he descended into the passage with paper wings behind his back, he felt as if he was no longer breathing ordinary air, he seemed to be inhaling pure chakra.
Putting away his paper angel wings, he started using the less visually impacting Light-Weight Rock technique to step onto the sea of chakra, as soon as he touched the surface, he felt as if millions of invisible warm bugs had invaded his body.
After quickly recomposing himself to not lose his footing, Hachi immediately redirected the Ryumyaku chakra into the Eight Trigrams seal imprinted on his body, then he created a special chakra footprint that made it possible for the Ryumyaku chakra to flow into the seal like a literal river that couldn't be blocked and flowed ignoring the concept of distance, spending a negligible amount of chakra to keep the connection even if he now moved to another dimension or even another planet.
After making sure everything was fine, Hachiman spent mere moments going back to Tsukigakure, with his Raijin marks and Ryumyaku chakra, he could teleport to anywhere he'd been to and spread his special dust in, and in fact, if he was daring enough, he felt like he could teleport to one of the many marks he had left on Kaguya's body in one go.
But Kaguya's seal space was completely blocked, so he couldn't try it even if wanted to.
Having succeeded in collecting his ideal choice of the source of chakra, all Hachiman needed to do now was to create a curse mark that could perfectly create senjutsu chakra efficiently, then he'd be set for the next thousand years–even if he managed to complete the entire absorption process in less time, he would still wait until the founding of Konoha and the Five Kage Summit, he wasn't really interested in the period that preceded that.
Yes, Hachiman was already feeling like such a big shot that he didn't want to ruin the whole story right off the bat now, since things with Kaguya and his kids stayed mostly the similar to the original even after considerable effort on his part, he wanted to see if there was truly the concept of fate in this world.
Not because he was scared of it, he just found it fascinating that certain things in this world seemed to be set in stone unless a sufficiently disruptive external force intervened.
Hachiman wanted to see if the fate of the ones that were now his descendants and the fate of his wife's disgusting alleged will would be the same as in the story he remembered.
The smaller matters of this world were no longer his business as long as there wasn't a mass extinction event or alien invasion, he just wanted to get his wife out of the Moon and then either leave this universe like Shibai or watch over it with Kaguya while enjoying married life and creating many descendants to watch over.
But since there were still many external threats out there, he decided to just spectate the development of this world for now, when he resurfaced he would obviously choose the moment that changed the history of the entire Shinobi world, the founding of Konoha.
He was very excited to beat some sense into the arrogant Madara and the idiotic Hashirama.
He had also found out Black Zetsu still existed in this timeline, and while he really wanted to get rid of the bastard that made his wife look like even more of a villain, he also recognized the fact that at least he was a filial child, so he decided let it go, the trouble he caused was important to make the story more spicy anyway–this didn't mean he would allow Zetsu to involve his own self or the Land of the Moon in their mess of an orchestra, though; fortunately, he had already set up at least half of all existing anti-scouting measures in and around the island, only someone who alrrady knew where it was could even dream of finding it now, but even a God couldn't hide from him of they entered unauthorized.

Underground, near the God Tree's sapling.
A couple weeks later, Hachiman succeeded in making the curse mark he wanted, after he plugged in his tubes, he thought to himself, 'One thousand years, that's definitely enough time to become stronger than anyone shown in Naruto except for Shibai, let me show you all how to get shit done without any Otsutsuki power, wait... does the God Tree count as a non-alien power? Well, as long as somehow absorb it it will becomea human power!' This type of stupid thought occurred to Hachiman countless times during the next thousand years, he didn't slack off, though–not even the Strongest Hokage and the God of Shinobi, Sarutobi Hiruzen, could compare to the sheer diversity of his abilities.
Even with his current skills, he still diligently developed his own unique techniques while sitting alone in the dimly lit room, he didn't want to just be a one-trick pony, he was going to make his own set of kekkei mora while taking chakra nature and shape transformation to the limit, he left the technological development part to Tsukigakure—he was also doubling as their power battery and jutsu scroll dispenser.
Like this, a thousand years passed under the gaze of the stars.
