'That was more fun than I expected.'
Helion thought as he looked at the initial results of his tests.
'Not only did I fulfill a humble childhood dream, I also had physical results, including general analyses of both males and females of different native species. Yes, we're off to a good start on this little adventure.'
A clarification, although he had conducted several morally questionable experiments on the bandits who had attacked a convoy, the results he was referring to came from them and a second group of embisda prepared for the convoy further ahead.
'It seems Miss Clemency was right in thinking it was an ambush. She just chose the wrong group.'
He thought with a certain joyful tone like a child as he walked again, after making sure that there was no trace left of the second group.

After completing his experiments, slightly altering the memories of the knights and convoy members (since destroying everything that had happened could have serious neurological consequences, in addition to not justifying their delay), and finally eliminating the second ambush. This one had been set by the young woman's family's rivals.
Helion now found himself in the middle of a large port city. Large in the general sense of cities on this continent, the city itself would have perhaps 100,000 to 300,000 inhabitants.
Large for the medieval period, average in the modern period, and less than insignificant in the eyes of a galactic conqueror species.
Still, this city had far more energy and life than several human planets, even before the mental/spiritual deterioration that plagued humanity.
The city could be summed up in one word: messy.
But not in the hygienic sense, but more in the sense of energy and organization. Something like a messy mess where you can find what you want even if you have to search for longer than necessary. It was something both in the way people lived and in the way the city itself was formed.
The Town wasn't something precisely thought out and executed as in the modern era (although there were signs of urban planning long before that), but something more relaxed and spontaneous. With new buildings being added as needed.
But always with a central point as a reference. Just as on Earth from 1500 to 1800 (more or less), this central point was none other than the city church. Or rather, the cathedral in the city center.
For Helion, it was somewhat picturesque to see a cathedral near the sea, it was a somewhat unusual combination. In his early life, he had seen and visited small churches near the sea, but never a cathedral in a style that reminded him of a mix of Baroque and Greek classical.
Grand and imposing, with a beautiful view of both the bay and a beach below on a slight rise.
From what Helion heard from people, both with his own ears and through his drones, this beach was not the private property of some nobleman, king, or even church members. Rather, it was a public beach that the city government had purposefully created.
Helion had never heard of a beach exclusively for leisure during the Middle Ages, but since it was such irrelevant information, he may have simply ignored it.
In short, it could be said without much exaggeration that the skeleton of the city was the cathedral, and from it the other buildings were built.
And so the city was formed, and as a port, it had the privilege of receiving numerous ships from various parts of the world, becoming a cultural center without equal. This led both the local government and the churches to take great care of their jewel.
So, despite Helion's initial impression of chaos, upon closer inspection, he saw that the city, though teeming with people, didn't seem to have much crime. It was clean and perfectly structured, with a market, cathedral, port, warehouses, parks, theater, and so on.
At least not in the main areas; on the outskirts, things would certainly be different.
'Not that it affects things much for me. Now, where is it… Ah, ha!'
He thought, seeing the building he wanted, the famous and infamous starting point for many isekai protagonists: the adventurers' guild.
