Cie Lin wasn't particularly tired. He tried to remember the last time he wanted to sleep, and it was some years ago. A normal human would have probably died from that. Especially if he had lived in a cave.
"Don't worry, I am able to look out for myself. Have a good night, Mister Feng. You look like you need it more than me."
Feng Heng winked off the remark from Cie Lin and walked out of the door before silently closing it. He almost had problems opening his eyes after blinking.
Yes, you are right. Some sleep can't be bad now.
After some considering, he agreed with Cie Lin's opinion in his mind and made his way to the hut nearest the middle of the village. On the way he told his friend, Han Wu, to take care of his duties for the rest of the night. Feng Heng couldn't just go without telling anyone. That would have been irresponsible from him.
Cie Lin's gaze followed Feng Heng for some seconds after he left the hut, and quickly diverted his gaze after confirming no one else was there to talk with him.
Sitting down on the fluffy bed, he began cultivating as there was nothing else to do.
He didn't feel like sleeping, didn't feel like eating or drinking. He felt like his only purpose was to cultivate to become stronger and he was bored of it. Having only one purpose in his life felt simple. Too simple.
It was like living the life of a machine. A cultivation machine.
Absorbing the Spirit Qi was for Cie Lin already something like a second art of breathing. He just did it and thought nothing of it.
Several hours passed, in which Cie Lin brought all his elemental natures to the peak of Qi Refinement. There were always some little details, which needed to be perfected.
Cie Lin checked his system and was disappointed to find no changes to his stats. They were the exact same when he reached the ninth stage of Qi Refinement.
Cie Lin's System
Age: 34/80
Cultivation: 9th Stage Qi Refinement
Cultivation Technique: Advanced Sword Horizon Technique
Skills: None
Cie Lin sighed in regret. He wished he could just get more Destiny Points by being alive or maybe directly receiving them if he changes something. That would help him tremendously.
Should I have spent my points differently? Next time I'll ask my stupid system and if it says I'd have to pay Destiny Points, so be it.
Cie Lin grunted at the thought of having to pay Destiny Points for every minor inconvenience possible. So stingy, he thought.
So, why does the Eternal Reincarnation System not work if I am alive? I should just be happy that I at least have a system. Imagine being a transmigrator and not having a system. Are there more transmigrator like me? Do they also have a system?
He looked upwards at the ceiling and wondered himself about so much. He had many questions, which have been left unanswered in his life at the Sword Horizon Sect.
My life on Earth was relatively normal in regard to the societies. However, even there I have left some regrets behind. Maybe no human dies without regrets.
Cie Lin reminisced about his time on Earth. He lived the life the way he wanted, because he never wanted much for himself. He had worked a normal office job, had a good number of friends there, he had married the woman he loved.
But his life wasn't always easy. There were some road bumps, which almost blocked his way. Cie Lin crept a small smile on his face as he remembered how lazy he was when he was a teenager.
He didn't know why he only received the Eternal Reincarnation System after his second death and not after his first.
Maybe, these higher beings play bingo with each other on who gets their 'character' the fastest an immortal.
Cie Lin mused about that but stopped as he realized that his cultivation speed seemed to slow down exponentially. Well, not his cultivation speed, but the Qi Absorbtion speed slowed down. Cie Lin realized he must have reached the limit of Qi Refinement for his mortal body. Continuing with absorbing was almost pointless from now on, but Cie Lin decided to do it anyway.
In his last life he had regretted not being more thorough in the Qi Refinement Realm, because he wasn't able to change that when he reached the Foundation Establishment Realm.
Well, whoever named all the Reams clearly had some brain damage. Shouldn't it be the Qi Absorbtion Realm? And why is the Foundation Establishment Realm...
After three hours the sun fully climbed the horizon and shone brightly upon the wooden roofs of the little village. Cie Lin noticed that and put a stop to his cultivating. He didn't make much progress throughout the night, which was only logical, because reaching the next realm took more time than one expects.
Cie Lin stood up from his bed, not a single bit tired. He had the weird urge to rub his eyes but supressed it when he walked through the door. Naturally, he opened it before that.
Outside were already some grown-ups, who wore warming clothing. Cie Lin seemed out of place. Not just a little. Their clothing was brown and without any blue patterns on it.
Cie Lin found himself confronted with a problem, he never could have anticipated. The clothing.
Should I also wear the same clothing as them?
Cie Lin questioned if it could create a social wall between them if he decided to continue wearing his robe. A different clothing was for some people a difference of heaven and earth.
Due to being unsure of what to do, he began looking out for Feng Heng. Maybe he had a better solution to the dilemma, he faced.
By spreading out his divine sense, he was able to find him pretty fast. He was still in the house, which appeared to be in the middle of the village.
Is it normal to have the chief's house in the middle?
