Kirika muttered under her breath with a sigh. "Yuna, are you really fine since I went into a coma due to that incident, you can speak to me."
Yuna paused she then smiled, those green eyes sparkling. "Well I guess I can't really hide thay feom you huh...well, I wad actually afraid when I heard you got involved in a terrorist attack, I git even more afraid when I saw you bandaged up and bleeding...and seeing your legs mangled up like that, i-it gave me nightmares for weeks."
Was it really that bad?, Kirika thought, she felt somehow when she was described like that. She placed her hand in Yuna's head. "It was that bad huh, I'm sorry I made you fell that way, I wish I could make you feel better."
"You being here is already helping though." Yuna said with a smile.
//But I wouldn't mind a hug//
Hearing her thoughts again, Kirika rolled her eyes. "Maybe, but I want to make you feel more better, how about you give me a hug, I would have done so myself but you know...disabled and all."
Yuna's cheeks flushed a soft pink as Kirika's words sank in. She bit her lip, hesitating for just a moment before leaning forward and wrapping her arms gently around Kirika's waist. The warmth of the embrace was immediate and soothing, a balm for both of their anxieties.
Kirika's breath hitched slightly, the sensation of being held grounding her in a way she hadn't expected. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting herself lean into the comfort. Her heart was pounding—not just from the physical closeness, but from the unspoken feelings swirling beneath the surface.
After a while, Yuna pulled back just enough to look Kirika in the eyes. "You really scared me, you know," she whispered, voice trembling slightly. "I thought I might lose you."
Kirika gave a small, rueful smile. "I didn't mean to worry you… but maybe I needed to be reminded how much you care."
The two girls then laughed.
--- Later that Night ---
A green haired girl sat on the edges if a building with a large staff near her, she had a large hat covering her head, masking her orange hair. On her hands was a book that had many complex spells and formulas.
The girl looked up at the moon and snorted scornful, she closed her book which seemingly turned into nothing and took her staff, she jumped down from the building and on to an empty street. Seemingly standing there waiting for someone.
The girl waited for hours until the air around began to freeze, the girl did not react, she just casually rapped her feet as if impatient.
Soon her patience finally came through and the sounds of feet tapping on the pavements were heard, the girl sighed and finally spoke up. "We are the only two witched in our covenant, why the hell are you late Festia."
A soft laugh echoed from the fog beyond the streetlight, sultry and melodic like a wind chime in the dead of night.
From the mist emerged a figure cloaked in a tight-fitting coat the color of blood. Her long black hair shimmered like ink under the moonlight, her heels clicking with deliberate elegance as she approached. Her eyes, mismatched—one gold, one violet—gleamed with amusement.
"I like to make an entrance, Liora," Festia said with a smug smile, twirling a bone-white wand between her fingers. "Besides, punctuality is for humans and dogs. Neither of which I am."
Liora rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed. "Yeah, and yet you still smell like burnt roses and stale wine."
Festia chuckled, stopping just a few steps away. "Don't blame me for having better taste in perfume than you have in combat boots."
Liora grunted, then looked up at the moon again. "The Aether incident that happened three months ago, only three people survived, from the the three one is slowly transforming into a witch and another has been bitten my the Lupines...The last one, she gives off the smell of a Vampire and also a witch...so the analysis I have gathered is that the Witch who colluded with the outer force known as the 'Starless Mother' has I terfered and killed countless lives breaking the three martial laws placed on the supernatural world, the Lupine biting a human is negotiable since the human probably wad on the brink of death and the witch is a natural event...but the birth of a vampire and a witch, A vampira goes against countless celestial orders, though it is not the fault of the victim and we have no right to interfere in her business anymore. It still unnerves me that 'The White Pale Witch' is now free and roaming the world without the curse of the vampires imposed on her."
Festia groaned and walked towards Liora giving her a flick on the head. "Stop blabbering, I already know all that information, also we are recruiting the newly tranformed witch Into our covenant right?."
Liora sighed and rubbed her forehead nodding. "Yeah, since our Covenant is small the Supernatural Circle should allow it."
Festia laughed happily. "Yay, finally a new member to add, I wonder how her wand would look like or what her witch specialty would be."
Liora sighed and walked passed her. "Whatever, we have a mission to finish, A devil has breached Into the world and we would have to verify if it should be slayed or left alone."
Hearing that, Festia's eyes glowed in delight, a devil's heart was a rare material after all and her research is almost complete..
---
Kirika stared at the ceiling, she could not sleep at all. Her condition was getting worse...and not only that, the back of Yuna's neck was open bare for her and she really had an urge to bite it and slowly drink the blood flowing through her veins.
Having this stray thoughts invading her mind, Kirika realized she might be...a blood sucker or in the traditional sense, a vampire but she really was not sure, her hair was also turning blue and she could read mind's so she might be something like a vampire but not.
Buy at the moment, she just wanted to bite Yuna, surely a small bite would be unnoticeable...right. "Ugh, I'll just endure it..." she silently told herself.
// it's so cold...I'm alone...mom where are you?//
Kirika was surprised, Yuna seemed to be having nightmare and it sounded...sad, Kirika took a deep breath in and gently wrapped her arms around Yuna's trembling form.
Yuna's breathing quickened as she stirred slightly, caught between sleep and wakefulness.
"Yuna… it's okay," Kirika whispered softly, her voice steady despite the storm of confusion inside her. "I'm here. You're not alone."
The warmth from Kirika's embrace seemed to calm Yuna's restless spirit, easing the tension that had gripped her for so long. Slowly, Yuna relaxed into the hug, a fragile sigh escaping her lips.
Kirika gently caressed Yuna's head, running her fingers through her soft blonde hair with slow, soothing motions. She felt the girl breathe in deeper, her body finally settling into a more peaceful slumber.
"You're always the strong one," Kirika murmured, almost to herself. "But even the strongest need someone to lean on."
Kirika closed her eyes and just decided to rest even if she can't sleep at the moment.
---
The morning came quicker that expected and Yuna woke up with a surprise in front of her, Kirika's eyes were open and she was curiously looking at Yuna's, she could feel her heart beat quickening and her body become warm.
Maybe it was because she was holding her like this at the moment and the proximity they were within was considerably close. Yuna couldn't help but het flustered.
//I-I never thought this would happen//
Kirika blinked slowly, her face calm but her thoughts racing. She's blushing like crazy. And her heart's about to beat out of her chest… Despite everything despite the blood, the broken bones, the strange powers and unnatural hunger this moment felt strangely normal. Almost peaceful.
Still, Yuna's rising fluster was contagious.
"You alright there?" Kirika asked, her tone teasing but gentle, lips curling into a subtle smirk. "You're looking a little red… Do you have a fever?"
Yuna quickly pulled back, flailing slightly as she sat up straighter in the hospital chair. "N-No! I mean—uh—I'm fine! I just… didn't expect to wake up like that!"
Kirika raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "Like what, exactly?"
Yuna groaned, covering her face. "You know what I mean, don't make me say it…"
//Why is she being so smug about it?!//
Kirika giggled softly. "Sorry, sorry. You're cute when you're flustered though."
Yuna peeked through her fingers, her face still glowing pink. "Is this revenge for teasing you yesterday?."
Kirika chuckled. "Nope, just me playing around and you're nightmares aren't really quiet so I decided to comfort you for a bit...but I think I slept and forgot I was still holding onto you, it's fine though I was kept warm all through the night. "
Yuna's hands were at her sides but she was still blushing. "W-well, it's ok and thanks."
Kirika nodded and then let her go. "I really want to walk, speaking of it...I haven't tried it have I?."
Yuna scratched the back of her head. "You have been on bed in a coma for three months, it's fine that you can't walk, just rest."
Kirika looked at Yuna curiously then smiled. "Hey, If I don't try to walk then when will I get better and plus, I don't want you trying to change my clothes like you did yesterday. Though I did not mind, I still felt like a child."
Yuna pursed her lips. "We are children Kirika, just slightly older."
"Hey, I'm older than you, I'm thirteen?!!"
Yuna squinted at her with a mock-serious face. "By four months. That doesn't make you an ancient sage."
Kirika grinned cheekily. "It does when I'm the one in the hospital bed. I demand respect as your elder."
Yuna rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress the smile forming on her lips. "Fine, elder-sama. But don't blame me if you fall flat on your face trying to walk."
Kirika smirked, then shifted her legs slowly over the edge of the bed. "We'll see about that."
The moment her bare feet touched the cold floor, a chill ran up her spine not from the cold, but from the jarring disconnection between her thoughts and her body. Her legs trembled. It was as if she was borrowing someone else's limbs, unfamiliar and weak. Still, she pressed on, gripping the bedrail tightly for support.
Yuna quickly stood beside her, hands hovering, unsure if she should help or wait.
"You sure about this?" she asked softly.
Kirika's jaw clenched. "I have to be."
She took one step. It was shaky, uneven, and slow. Another step. Her knees buckled slightly, but she caught herself. Her heart poundef not from exertion, but from a strange exhilaration. She was moving. Actually moving.
Yuna's hands steadied her waist as Kirika stumbled slightly. "Easy… you don't have to push yourself this much."
"I do," Kirika replied between heavy breaths. "If I don't take control now, I might never get it back."
Yuna looked at her with a mixture of admiration and worry. "Then I'll help you… but only because I don't want to clean up if you faceplant."
Kirika chuckled weakly, grateful. "Such compassion. Truly, I'm blessed."
Yuna rolled her eyes again but tightened her grip just a bit, her presence solid and reassuring.

Tissa Kasiri, a victim of the Terrorist Incident looked at her hands. Ever since she woke up after the explosions three months ago, she has felt strange.
And not only that, her hair colour turned from black to red and her pupils became the shape of a red star.
There was also the thing that tries to break out whenever she is in front of a mirror, it looked like a restless book.
She really did not know what was happening to her...but she was glad she survived even if she was a lonely girl. Her parents died in the explosion which also made her depressed for quite a long time, two months actually she had learned to move on.
Now she is alone, living in an empty house going through her day to day live as she would normally...well if she ignored the urge of dissecting frogs, lizards and sometimes have urges to dissect a human, then yes day to day normal life.
