Location: Avengers Tower – Riven's Room / Hallway / Elevator
Time: Late Evening
The room was silent.
Riven moved with quiet intent, folding the few shirts and pants he had and placing them into a plain duffel bag. He didn't have much. He never had much. Just enough to disappear with.
He pulled on the black jacket Tony had given him—lightweight, reinforced, nondescript. It fit too well. Like it belonged to someone used to moving in shadows.
When he turned toward the door, he froze.
Natasha Romanoff was already there, leaning against the frame with her arms folded. Her green eyes were unreadable in the low light.
She must've been standing there for minutes, watching him.
Riven stared at her. Silent.
She raised an eyebrow. "Going somewhere?"
He didn't answer. Just walked past her.
She didn't stop him.
He stepped into the hallway. The tower was quiet this late. Clean, sterile, and calm—completely unlike what burned inside his chest.
The elevator doors opened.
He stepped in.
Wanda and Sam were coming down the hallway from the common area. Wanda's eyes met his instantly.
"Riven—" she started.
But the doors were already closing. He didn't say a word. Just stood there, unmoving, gaze ahead.
Wanda stood still in the hallway, watching the elevator descend. Her lips pressed into a line. Sam glanced at her but said nothing.
She didn't speak either.
