Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Da~

"What should we do, Big Sister?"

Asher sat on the ground with a worried frown, at a loss for what to do.

This was the first time in his life he had seen Scáthach show such an expression. Without a doubt, Shishou was truly angry this time.

This could have very serious consequences.

If he sold out his Big Sister, would he be able to atone for his sins...? Asher thought to himself, while secretly glancing at Uathach.

However, this glance was caught by Uathach, who smiled slightly.

"Ash, you wouldn't be thinking of selling me out, would you?"

"No... how could I?" Asher shifted his gaze, smiling awkwardly.

He hadn't expected his Big Sister's sense of smell to be so sharp.

"Let's get this straight. You agreed yourself when I suggested going to steal the dragon blood. We absolutely cannot tell Mother about this, otherwise we'll both be finished," Uathach said.

"Finished probably isn't the right word... at most, we'll just get a bit of scolding," Asher said, sounding slightly unsure at the end.

Even he didn't quite believe his own words.

"That's only because you haven't seen Mother get angry before," Uathach's small face was serious.

"Before, when Mother was angry, she pierced a dragon straight through and pinned it to the city wall. And Cú Chulainn was severely punished by her for speaking disrespectfully to her. Since then, he's never mentioned words like 'old woman' in front of Mother again."

"I saw brother Cú Chulainn say that to Shishou before, calling her an old lady and stuff..." Asher said.

"That's only because you were there that she didn't want to use violence. Look at everyone in the Land of Shadows, who dares to mention her age in front of her?"

Asher: "..."

"So, Shishou's previous lessons were considered light? I mentioned it once before, and as a result, she made me do another training session after the regular one ended."

"You mentioned her age to Mother too?!" Uathach's expression became quite tense upon hearing this.

"Remember this, you absolutely cannot mention these things again in the future, otherwise it won't just be an extra training session."

"Mm, I remember," Asher nodded solemnly, secretly keeping Uathach's warning in mind.

"By the way, should we go find Shishou now?" he continued to ask.

"Hmm... let's wait a bit longer, until Mother's anger subsides," Uathach thought for a moment, then continued,

"Or why don't you go scout ahead for Big Sister first?"

Asher quickly shook his head.

"No! Absolutely not! You know Shishou is very angry right now. Wouldn't me going to see her be asking for death?"

"It won't. If anything unexpected happens, I'll go help you," Uathach said solemnly.

"You're my younger brother, after all. No matter what, I won't let you be in danger."

"Really?" Asher was skeptical.

Uathach hugged Asher's arm with both hands, looking affectionate, and said softly,

"Ash, when have you ever seen Big Sister lie to you?"

Feeling the pair of immature soft breasts pressing against his arm, and looking down at her bright and lovely eyes, Asher finally made up his mind and nodded.

"Alright, I'll go."

"That's great! Thank you, Ash, you're so good," Uathach beamed, showing a bright and lovely smile.

However, when she lowered her head, a flash of cunning flickered in her eyes.

---

In the main hall.

Asher walked up to Scáthach and bowed slightly in respect.

"Shishou."

Scáthach sat on her throne, looking down at Asher standing before her.

"I told you, you don't need to be so polite. Come over here."

Asher was slightly taken aback and raised his head to look at Scáthach.

Scáthach was wearing a light purple robe, and purple translucent stockings covered her slender legs. She crossed her legs, looking down at Asher below, a faint smile on her face, looking very amiable.

That was strange... wasn't Shishou supposed to be angry? Why couldn't he see even a hint of anger on her face now? Not only was she not angry, but she was even smiling at this moment.

Could it be that she was happy because she knew they had stolen the dragon's essence blood?

While Asher was thinking about these trivial things, he slowly walked up to Scáthach.

"Sit wherever you like," Scáthach said calmly.

Asher looked around and sat down on the floor.

In that instant, he seemed to feel Scáthach's utterly speechless gaze.

But there was nothing he could do. There were no other chairs here except for the throne Scáthach was currently sitting on. Scáthach had told him to sit, so he could only sit on the floor.

"Are you hurt?" Scáthach asked.

"I'm fine, thank you for your concern, Shishou," Asher said politely.

He didn't know what Shishou was thinking right now. He could only answer whatever she asked.

But it was really strange. Why didn't Shishou ask him where he had gone just now, or why he was chased by the black dragon?

"I roughly know where you went, so don't find it strange," Scáthach said faintly, as if seeing through Asher's doubts.

"Did you get the dragon's essence blood?"

Asher nodded.

"Was it that child Uathach who bewitched you to go together?" Scáthach then asked.

Asher hesitated for a moment, remembering what the girl had just said, and shook his head imperceptibly.

"I told Big Sister Uathach that my physical strength was too poor, and I didn't know how long it would take for it to return to normal. After she heard that, she wanted to help me get the dragon's essence blood, and I suggested that I wanted to go with her."

"In other words, this is your fault, isn't it?" Scáthach asked again.

"Yes."

"Very good." The smile on Scáthach's face faded slightly.

"Actually, even if you didn't explain, I would know that child must have bewitched you to go together. But since you said so, I'll just take it as you said."

"Come with me."

Scáthach said, standing up.

"Where to?" Asher asked subconsciously.

"Training," Scáthach glanced at Asher.

"Since you want to take all the responsibility, you should also be prepared for the consequences, right?"

Asher's body trembled slightly. At this moment, he once again recalled the fear that Scáthach had once instilled in him. But he had already mentally prepared himself before coming here, so he gritted his teeth and stood up.

"I understand."

After saying that, he started walking, following Scáthach out of the main hall.

---

Half an hour later.

"With just this level of strength, you dared to go to the dragon's nest to steal the black dragon's essence blood?" Scáthach looked down at Asher, who was desperately panting with his hands on the ground.

Asher supported himself on his knees and struggled to stand up.

Was it finally over...? Asher felt his mind was a blank. Even when he stood up, he didn't know what he was thinking.

"Are you very tired?" Scáthach squatted down, looking at her disciple.

Asher nodded with difficulty, his forehead covered in sweat.

"Will you still go to the depths of the Trial Forest without permission?" she then asked.

Asher quickly shook his head.

"I will definitely not go again."

He sounded a bit like a student trembling in front of their homeroom teacher.

Scáthach nodded slightly.

"Then let's continue."

"Thank you, Shishou—"

Asher suddenly paused, doubting his ears.

What did Shishou just say?

...Continue?

"The extra training just now was for your part. The current extra training is for Uathach's part. Since you want to help her, you should be properly prepared," Scáthach raised her finger, chanting some kind of spell.

It sounded like singing, warm and comforting.

Asher vaguely seemed to hear singing like "darenixiyogana~".

Then, he felt the fatigue in his body just now swept away, and his stamina recovered a lot again.

Scáthach stood up and threw the spear in front of Asher.

"I've restored a lot of your stamina. It should be enough for another round of training. If it's not enough, I'll help you again, don't worry."

This wasn't a question of whether he was worried or not, was it?!

Was Shishou a demon?!

Asher raised his head and looked at Scáthach, seeing the joy in her red eyes, and couldn't help but roar angrily in his heart.

"Stand up, Asher! It's time for the second round of extra training!"

Amidst Scáthach's loud call, Asher stood up, his face filled with despair.

He vaguely seemed to hear a voice in his ears, a voice that said:

"You have been enhanced, go!"
