Abbigail met up with Volcannus at Bhengorn and they flew to the End Portal.
"Sorry, Luna." Abbigail patted her dragon. "You need to wait here. You can't get through."
Luna snorted. "Well, I guess you can try." Abbigail said. She slid off her back and reached up for Volcannus to jump down as well.
"Woah!" Luna jumped, sending a wave through her scales. Volcannus flew into the air and landed face down before Abbigail. She giggled at the sight.
"Your dragon." Volcannus spat out a mouthful of dirt. "I don't think she likes me very much."
"Does she?" Abbigail glared, and Luna looked away, her tail high in the air. "Alright, come on, now." She pulled Volcannus to his feet. "The portal's this way."
They went through the caves and soon stood at the edge. Luna tucked her wings in and thread her way behind them.
"Huh, why didn't you do this last time?" Abbigail asked. Luna purred and pecked her head like a bird.
"Come on, spill it." Abbigail coaxed. "Is it Thunderdome's big handsome face?" Luna turned her head and stared at the wall.
"Who's Thunderdome?" Volcannus asked.
"Oh, the other dragon." Abbigail answered. "He took off to who-knows-where after Denny…"
Volcannus gave Luna a sideways glance. "Huh, so we have a little lovebird." Luna tried to swipe him with her tail, but the passageway was too narrow.
"Here we are." Abbigail and Volcannus came to the End portal. They mounted the steps to the ring.
"So… we just jump into the lava?" Volcannus asked.
"No." Abbigail took out the Eye. It split into nine pieces and lined up around the ring. The dark cosmic membrane appeared in the ring. "Now we jump in. Together?" She held out her hand to Volcannus.
"Together." He took her hand and they jumped into the portal and emerged on the platform.
"Wait, I forgot to tell Luna…" Abbigail was interrupted as her dragon crashed through, almost knocking them into the void. "Thank you for nothing, you useless reptile." Abbigail scolded as she picked up herself from the ground.
"So, where to?" Volcannus asked. He looked at the towering building in the distance. "Is that the stronghold?"
"No, that's a fortress." Abbigail answered. "The one back there, where the portal was located with the lava, that was the stronghold."
"I see. Thank you for your guidance into the End Realm, Queen Abbigail." Volcannus bowed. "According to the records," He said as they approached the tower, the Ender chests are in the top most rooms, which are sealed from the outside and only accessible from within."
"Luna, go and take a look around." Abbigail said. "This is your homeland, afterall." The dragon, already slobbering at the islands, took off. Abbigail unlocked the gate, and they entered.
"How do we get up there?" Abbigail wondered as they came to the foot of the tower. As if to answer her question, a purple box on the wall spun open. A small head popped up inside and spat out two tiny missiles. It wandered through the air until one gently landed in Abbigail's waist and the other hit Volcannus's butt cheek.
"Ow!" He yelled. "Do these End creatures do it on purporse?"
Abbigail giggled. "Probably because you are a Netheran."
The purple box closed and they started floating into the air. "I see," said Volcannus. "We will go up by Shulker levitation." He swam further up.
"I just hope they don't drop us." Abbigail mumbled as she followed.
Before long, they rose into the room through a hole in the ground. After a few minutes of flailing about in the air, they dropped onto the floor.
"Here it is." Volcannus knelt down before a blue-black chest sitting in the middle of one side of the room. "An Ender chest. Please unlock it for me, Queen Abbigail."
She stepped forth and opened the lid. Volcannus took out his small pouch, and Kiki flew out.
"Now, dear Kiki, just like we practiced." The tiny ghast nodded and dove into the chest.
In the Nether, in the vault, an Ender chest's lid hopped once, then twice, then Kiki opened the lid and flew out. Swiftly, she found the spare keys by the door and took it in her mouth. She dove back into the chest and came out beside a smiling Volcannus and an astonished Abbigail.
"Well done, Kiki." Volcannus took the keys and tossed the baby ghast a piece of coal. "Now, we must return to the Nether." He put the keys away.
"I'm sorry, we?" Abbigail interrupted angrily. "You failed to mention this small detail.
Volcannus let Kiki back in his pouch and stood up. "I promised you information, and the information is in the Nether. Keys open doors, and the ones Kiki just acquired unlock the Nether archives. Have I given you reason to doubt me, Queen Abbigail?"
"Fine." Abbigail snapped. "Let's just get this over with."
"Now, how do we get down?" Volcannus looked over the hole.
"With a bite on the butt cheek." Abbigail smiled as two shulker missiles floated through the floor.
