Chapter 13 - 13

Draven's pov

I stood there again.

Outside her cage.

Same as yesterday. Same as the day before.

Days had passed since we took her,hell, I don't even know how many. Time blurred in this place. Concrete walls. Steel bars. Echoes of commands and cries. This whole place was a temple of fear, and I was the god they all prayed to.

But not her.

Never her.

She sat with her back to me, shackles at her ankles, wrists raw where the iron rubbed too tight. Her head was tilted slightly to the side like she knew I was there without even looking.

She hadn't said a word in over twenty-four hours.

That silence,hers,was louder than any scream I'd ever heard. And I've heard plenty.

I shifted my weight, boots scraping against the cold floor. "You should eat something."

No response.

I walked forward, tray in hand,steak, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables, fruit so fresh it still smelled of the orchard it came from. Luxury. The kind of meal kings would kill for.
