Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Funeral of the Queens

[ Queen Mansion, Star City ]

"Thea, dear, we are going to... attend... a funeral. Pack up and we will wait for you downstairs." The middle-aged woman choked up and covered her mouth as she walked down the stairs.

"Okay, Mom, I'll be right there." Sitting on the bedside, Thea Queen watched her mother disappear from her sight, thoughts constantly surging in her mind. It had been three days since she arrived in this world—or rather, transmigrated into it—and she had gradually accepted her current identity.

She had gone from being a successful young man in her past life to a wealthy girl whose family had recently suffered immense tragedy. The memories of her previous life surfaced like flickering movie clips: birth, school, graduation, marriage. They all felt both vivid and distant, like a dream seen through someone else's eyes. There was no strong attachment—no happiness, no resentment—just a quiet detachment. She was merely an observer.

What was her name before? She couldn't recall. Her current state was dominated by the original Thea's emotions: a crushing, overwhelming wave of sadness and frustration. It was as if she were a new person, a fusion of two consciousnesses. She possessed the original Thea's feelings for her family, but also the knowledge of a man from another world. But what she did know, and know with utter clarity, was this: she was, is, and always will be Thea.

Although the original Thea was supposed to wear a black dress today, the soul now inhabiting her body felt an inexplicable resistance to women's clothing. Instead, she chose a white vest, black suit pants, and black mid-heeled leather shoes prepared by her mother. Thankfully, Thea was still a minor—if she had to wear high heels to such a solemn occasion, it would have been unbearable.

After tying her thick, dark brown hair neatly in front of the mirror, Thea examined her reflection: fair skin, long lashes, and light green eyes that shimmered with grief for her deceased father and brother. Despite the turmoil within, her eyes remained calm—an ocean of longing beneath the still surface.

Thea had figured things out quickly after watching the news on her first day in this new world. She had landed in a reality similar to the Green Arrow TV series. Maybe it was that world, maybe not. Information was still scarce. But if she was right, she was now the sister of Green Arrow, Oliver Queen—a rebellious, impulsive, and difficult teenager according to the show's narrative.

Fortunately, the current Thea hadn't spiraled into the destructive habits depicted in original timeline. Her father and brother had only just died. And with the fusion of her two souls, her mental resilience far exceeded that of the average fifteen-year-old. Though her body was delicate, her steps as she descended the stairs were steady and resolute.

She approached her mother, Moira Queen, and said softly, "Let's go, Mom."

Moira embraced her daughter wordlessly, and together they entered the waiting car.

...

[ Cemetery, Star City ]

"Robert Queen was born in 1958 and died in 2007 at the age of 49. He was an outstanding entrepreneur in our Star City, a mentor, and a loyal friend. His passing is a profound loss..."

"Oliver Queen, born in 1985 and died in 2007 at the age of 22. He was a son of Star City, a gift from God..."

Thea sat in silence, her mind drifting as the pastor's eulogy echoed over the crowd. Her father was lauded with glowing praise, while her brother received a more modest remembrance. Truthfully, there wasn't much to commend about Oliver's life so far—he was reckless, shallow, and irresponsible.

But what they didn't know was that her father, the paragon of virtue, had left behind the seeds of chaos for Star City. And that her aimless brother, who everyone wrote off, would one day save the city at the cost of his own pain and sacrifice.

Thea bit her lip to suppress a sob. Her brother may not be truly dead, but her father—the man who had loved her as his own child—was gone forever.

Yes, as his own child. Because she wasn't actually of Queen blood. And yet, Robert Queen had never shown an ounce of disdain or distance. He had known the truth and loved her anyway. That thought broke through the dam of her composure, and Thea leaned into her mother's arms, sobbing.

"Honey, cry. You'll feel better after," Moira whispered, gently stroking Thea's hair.

The ceremony eventually came to a quiet end. The two empty coffins were buried with solemn grace in the Queen family cemetery.

"My condolences, Moira. My condolences, Thea."

The speaker was a stern-faced middle-aged man, and as soon as Thea saw him, she recognized him immediately—Malcolm Merlyn. Her biological father.

Malcolm, the man behind the Queen's Gambit shipwreck. The mastermind. The first true villain of the Arrow series. A conspirator and a killer hiding behind civility.

But he was also a warrior. Skilled in hand-to-hand combat, archery, and swordsmanship, known in the shadows as the Black Arrow. He had fought and defeated Green Arrow twice in the series. He wasn't someone to be underestimated.

In the show, he trained Thea in later seasons. Could she bring that timeline forward? Right now, she was vulnerable, adrift in a sea of unfamiliar emotions. It would be smart to prepare—to train.

But did Malcolm know she was his daughter? Moira surely did. Would she tell him? Did the show mention it? Thea couldn't remember.

One thing was clear: if Malcolm didn't know and she carelessly revealed herself, it could be fatal. Despite his capacity for love, he was ruthless.

Malcolm was extremely active in the first four seasons of the Green Arrow series. Thea transmigrated before the fifth season was finished. While she doesn't know the events of the end of season five, but given Malcolm's ability to survive, She doesn't think he will die.

More than anything, Thea didn't want to accept him. This was the man who had caused her adoptive father's death and left her brother stranded for five brutal years. Whatever heroic journey Oliver undertook, the cost had been too high.

For now, the idea of training with him had to be shelved.

She stood silently next to Moira, watching her mother thank the guests one by one. Moira Queen was a contradiction—deeply invested in her family, yet complicit in the events that tore them apart. Her grief was real, but her silence about the truth was deafening. Was she in denial? Did she think as long as she didn't see death happen before her eyes, it wasn't real?

Maybe that was how Malcolm had manipulated her.

"Thea, let me introduce you. This is Walter Steele, your father's right-hand man." Moira gestured to the bald, dignified man before them.

According to the series, Walter would become Thea's stepfather. She gave a polite nod but remained quiet.

Her emotions toward Moira were still forming—neither warm nor cold. She didn't particularly care if Moira found someone new. It seemed the original Thea felt the same way.

There was too much to process, too many variables to consider.

And above all, there was the name she had seen in the guest list—Wayne Enterprises.

If her memory served her right, that meant Bruce Wayne existed here too. Batman. What kind of world had she landed in?

One thing was certain—this was only the beginning.

To Be Continued...
