Chaira tilted her head as she heard the noise outside, but then she shrugged it off after a long time of silence followed, just focusing on to feed her kids up.
Though…
"Mommy," Yena suddenly called her out, her pupils shrinking as her brother went to her side, when the screaming outside---a harsh scream as if they were being chased by a serial killer, was once again heard.
And beside from that sound, the floor seemed to shake by a few points as they heard a low growl of pain outside.
Chaira finally furrowed her brows, but before she could even go out and take a look, the lights in the room went out, as her only breathing was heard…. And another person cold breath.
If Chaira was not discerning enough, she won't be able to hear this silent breath that was oddly extremely near her.
Chaira heart skipped a beat as she turned her head and looked at the direction where kids had just stood a while ago, staring into nothingness.
Even though she got a vague premonition that something bad is going to happen when she saw an ominous smoke creeping up to her feet, bringing coldness at the depth of her heart, she still opened her lips and called out, "Yena.. Sean?"
A small grunt sounded behind her after she called out.
But even though she got an answer, it was not the voice that she was looking forward to.
Chaira eyes narrowed instantly as a killing intent flashed past her dark eyes, though there was a little bit of fear for the unknown.
"They… not here," his familiar voice echoed in the darkness, that makes rage creeping up into her skin.
Hades!
Chaira thought so, as she instinctively turned around, her legs raised as she was about to strike this man behind her in blindness as she instead used her hand to knock this guy neck off.
But the same trick won't happen twice as her legs were grab and waist pulled hard.
Chaira fell into a cold embrace, as if hugging a corpse that had already died for a long time.
Though Chaira would prefer being dead than hugging a man instead in this life.
So just as her dark eyes flashed angrily, the thorny vines that disappeared after she calmed down once again resurfaced, its pointy tip exuding thirst for violence was facing Hades' direction and about to strike Hades handsome face.
But the surrounding was still so dark, that Chaira was not able to see things clearly with her eyes, just following her intuition and her ears sensitively prying for every noise created from this man that seemed to have no weight at all, making it hard to decipher and track its position.
But Chaira does not mind all of this, as her hand still did its familiar chopping stance as she was about to poke this man waist.
Though the strength that her two fingers hold was equivalent to the weight of a carabao, the man who quite learned his lesson painfully while dealing with her a while ago, now was able to stop this hand with one hand.
Hades red eyes flickered with ease in the dark, as his hoarse and deep voice once again echoed lowly when he leaned his head down, resting his heavy head on her shoulder as his lips brushed past her earlobe from time to time when he talks that made Chaira heart on fire.
"Useless… It's useless," his voice that was starting to annoy her and heightening her vigilance repeated what he said again after a pause.
Chaira did not stay put after being embraced by such a cold body, as her mind turned quickly, while struggling, but still did not forget asking Hades her main concern, "Where are my kids?"
"That's not your kids my love."
The man that was stuttering from time to time, finally was able to get a hang of human language, as he stated so without any pause, though his voice was still so hoarse and even his breath spraying her earlobe was so cold that Chaira instinctively shivered.
But Hades who seemed to think of something, lightly said after she shivered when he talked, "Don't be afraid."
"Shut up! You alien!" Chaira angrily shouted.
She was really so angry, and the cause of her being angry? Was to make her thorny vines who was also affected by her emotion, to finally rush without care at Hades face, successfully penetrating Hades side face as golden blood dripped on Chaira shirt.
But Chaira does not know what was going on, though, she still makes use of the situation when she was finally released from the cold embrace of this pervert.
She distanced herself quite far away from where she deduced that Hades was standing, as her head turned, looking over at where Hades is, just in case.
The lights that went out flickered slightly after Hades side face was penetrated by the thorny vine, making Chaira who can't see anything earlier, finally see the thorny vine having golden blood staining its whole body while keeping its violent stance towards Hades, not pausing at the slightest and just focuses on slashing Hades body with its thorns.
But even though Hades body was obviously filled with his own blood, Chaira can still see from where she is, that the wounds inflicted on Hades by the thorny vine that appeared out of nowhere was healing at a visible speed.
Chaira eyes widened slightly after seeing such things clearly.
A monster….?
That thought that went its way to her head made her heart skipped a beat, that the thorny vine whom she did not know was influenced by her own emotion to attack mindlessly but still retain its focused on Hades only, paused slightly, swaying gently from left to right, finally making Hades take the advantage to grab it with full force, as the thorny vine disappeared, turning into ominous dark ashes.
"You are quite feisty."
Chaira don't know what is Hades talking about, but she did not think too much anymore as she took a step backward, warily looking at Hades who slowly smiled and took a step forward towards her.
"Don't come over here!" Chaira shouted, a slight tremor hidden along with her words that was said in a loud voice.
Hades stopped.
Chaira really don't know if Hades would just follow what she wants, but seeing that Hades stopped on his footsteps, she breath a sigh of relief almost immediately, as she once again took a step backward, while still stubbornly asking the man she already concluded a devil in human disguise.
She should have known it already, with red eyes and inhuman strength?
It fits perfectly for a non-human identity.
"Where are my kids?" Chaira asked, not paying attention anymore to whatever identity this man might have, as her only concern right now—her biggest concern, was the kids who disappeared after Hades revealed his monstrous self.
Though she had asked as calmly as possible, it can still be seen that there were wariness, vigilance that tinted between her brows.
Especially it was growing stronger after Hades had given his answer.
"I do not know."
Chaira bared her teeth in anger and distress with such careless response, the thought that the kids might be somewhere dangerous really made her mind go blank.
"Don't speak nonsense!"
Hades was silent for a little while, before he finally sighed.
"I will give them back to you, on one condition," Hades said, fully using his deceptive appearance, hoping that Chaira would fall for it, though his careful thought is not destined to happen, as his deceptive appearance did not affect Chaira on the slightest, but was just making Chaira narrow her eyes in disgust.
"If I can do it, I will gladly fulfill it, just give my kids back!" the thorny vines that disappeared and turned into an ominous ash a while ago, once again resurfaced from Chaira back without warning, but much more taller and firmer than before, its thick vines turning red, representing death that Hades who looked up, had its eyes darkening after knowing who was the real owner of the thorny vine.
'So, it was not that guy intervening,' he silently thought.
But still, Hades laughed.
Though, he become serious almost immediately his eyes landed on Chaira own fiery dark eyes filled with wariness towards himself.
For Hades who always saw and meet someone showing reverence and extreme respect towards him, such a sight… was too attractive.
"…"
Hades went silent, as his lips pursed slightly.
His jaw clenched, and for a moment, his calm heart that seemed to be almost dead—without any presence, skipped in a heartbeat, as Hades heard himself shamelessly asking, "Be my wife then."
"…"
Hades was speechless.
Chaira too was speechless.
And Zesx who opened the door, arriving at where the two of them are, along with the cerberus that was still growling in full complaints, went silent, thinking he destroyed the scene of this devil lord chasing a wife.
"…"
But then, Zesx stopped, his golden eyes flickered at Chaira familiar face, as his mouth opened slightly, about to call Chaira in a different name with a longing voice, but was stopped after the kids he saw running around in panic but with utmost determination and followed him instinctively while being chased by ghost, peek their head out, and looked straight at their mom standing far away from where Hades stood--who was very near where they are.
"..."
The kids grey eyes flashed almost angrily as they saw Hades with that smile, even more so when they finally took in the information that this guy wanted their mom to be his wife in exchanged for themselves.
Utterly heartless.
They were suddenly put into some blind space after this guy woken up, grabbing their body without a care and throw them away to some places inside this restaurant that revolved around chaos already, making them very far away from where their mom is and making them distress of what their mom might feel after seeing they were not in the room anymore.
Sean pursed his lips as Yena gnashed her small teeth in anger.
They do not bet this guy as their father!
The brother and sister duo thought so, as they ran towards where Chaira is, being careful enough not to be caught with Hades' paw.
Chaira did not relax at all after seeing the kids, not until she was able to hug the kids back who came to her at a fast speed with their small legs, a small smile made way to her lips, as she mockingly say with a tilted head towards where Hades is.
"Since your bargaining chip is already on my hands," Chaira paused, looking at the kids who looked up at her with those big bright eyes, unconsciously showing their repulsiveness to what Hades said as a condition for her.
There was a light that flashed inside her dark eyes, before she continued in a light voice, trailing her words with laze in the end.
"I can't be your wife then."
