Chapter 33: The Black Wizard
Thick black mist permeated the entire Rooftop. Inside the black mist, the Snipers lying prone on the Rooftop began to look dull-eyed, their bodies stiffening.
Gunshots began to ring out within the mist, where one couldn't see their own hand in front of their face.
In the Wilderness near the lighthouse, the Gunmen who were exchanging fire with the Vampires in the Bunker were caught off guard and directly hit by their own Snipers, falling into pools of blood.
Watching his subordinates fall one by one, Frank hid behind cover, hoisted a Rocket Launcher, stood up, and fired a shot at the Rooftop.
"Boom!"
Flames shot into the sky, and the Dark Mist on the Rooftop violently shook, followed by the appearance of a large hole. But immediately after, more mist spread out, filling the hole again.
Bang bang bang~~
After firing one shot, Frank threw down the Rocket Launcher and rolled away. His original position was simultaneously hit by four or five Sniper Rifle Bullets.
Taking advantage of the commotion on the Rooftop, the Vampires in the Bunker finally recovered and seized the opportunity to counter-attack the Gunmen outside.
Gunfire erupted loudly for a time. At this point, compared to before, Tang Song's Gunmen were inevitably fighting with some hesitation due to the Snipers.
Tang Song watched this scene with a gloomy expression. If West hadn't been standing beside him, he probably would have already summoned his Skeleton Demons and slaughtered the group of Vampires below and the Black Robed Person on the Rooftop.
Tang Song looked at the Black Robed Person's figure in the black mist, his two Sword Pellets poised to strike.
......…
"It's the Dark Mist of a Black Wizard!"
At this moment, West spoke with a solemn expression. At the same time, he clasped the Cross on his chest and prayed, "In the name of my Lord, expel all evil from the world."
A thick column of milky white light enveloped him, then spread out boundlessly towards the Rooftop.
Upon contact with the milky white light, the black mist thinned instantly like mist in the scorching sun. The Snipers lying on the Rooftop and the Black Robed Person's figure could vaguely be seen.
The Black Robed Person's figure also saw the few people standing on the Dock. With a wave of his hand, the black mist transformed into countless black bats that swooped down towards the Dock.
West held the upper part of the Cross with both hands and swung it forward. A thick column of Holy Light blasted towards the group of black bats.
Under the column of Holy Light, the black bats shrieked continuously, emitting black smoke all over their bodies before dissipating.
"A Holy Artifact!" The Black Robed Person's figure looked at West, who was shining like a light bulb on the Dock, and said hatefully.
In the Middle Ages, people from The Church relied on the Holy Artifacts in their hands to defeat the Dark Council of that era.
Even the chairman of the Dark Council at the time, a Dark Wizard said to be comparable to a Hell-Lord, died at the hands of the fourth generation Pope, who wore the Crown of Thorns and held the Sacred Scarab.
These humans, relying on weapons supposedly blessed by Angels, massacred dark creatures on a large scale.
How many Witches were tied to the Pyre and burned alive?
He himself had to hide and flee back then, almost being put on the Pyre several times.
Seeing that a high-ranking member of The Church was present, the Black Robed Person's figure felt the urge to retreat.
He had only come for the Vampire Holy Book Fragment in Deacon Frost's hands, not to fight The Church.
The reason he survived from the Middle Ages until now was not his mastery of various Black Magic techniques, but his caution.
However, before leaving, he couldn't let The Church get off easy.
The Black Robed Person's sinister laughter echoed on the Rooftop, followed by a series of strange and difficult-to-pronounce Spells.
Amidst the sound of the Spells, the sandy ground of the Dock began to crack, and withered white Skeleton Claws reached out.
Ragged Skeletons crawled out of the cracks, pulling themselves up from the ground. On the deserted Dock by the sea under the night sky, Werewolves, Vampires, and animated Skeletons created a scene straight out of a horror movie.
Even though Tang Song's Gunmen were battle-hardened veterans, facing these moving Skeletons made their spines run cold and their limbs feel weak.
Frank also felt a chill in his heart. He knew how powerful his Boss's Skeletons were; he was wearing a string of them on his wrist right now.
So many Skeletons! Frank raised his Handgun and fired. The Bullet from the large-caliber military Handgun directly blew the head of a Skeleton Soldier to smithereens.
"Uh, is that it?"
Frank fired several shots, blowing the heads off a few Skeleton Soldiers.
Looking at the fallen Skeleton Soldiers, Frank finally confirmed that these were just flimsy imitations.
They looked scary, but they were not on the same level as the Skeleton Demons refined by his Boss.
"Shoot them in the head!"
Frank demonstrated, and his Gunmen finally calmed their minds, raised their guns, aimed at the Skeleton Soldiers in front of them, and pulled the trigger.
...…
"It's Urnos, one of the famous Black Wizards of the Underworld. Although he can't compare to the old monsters of the Dark Council, he is one of the few male Wizards who survived the great purge of the Middle Ages. Manipulating the Undead is his specialty!"
West seemed to have recognized the identity of the Black Robed Person on the Rooftop from his attack method.
At his signal, several Priests behind him opened the silver briefcases in their hands.
Tang Song looked closely and saw ancient Armor components inside the briefcases.
A Helmet, Chainmail, Armguards, and a Cruciform Sword with a distinct medieval style.
These weapons and Armor were covered in marks from sword cuts and axe blows. Tang Song even saw Claw Marks on them.
Clearly, one of the previous owners of this Armor had engaged in close combat with a creature possessing sharp claws.
Several Priests stepped forward and put these Armor components onto West one by one.
A powerful, sacred aura emanated from West, who was now wearing the Armor, dispelling the lingering Dark Mist in the air.
"Paladin Armor! Damn it, who brought that thing out of the Vatican!"
Urnos looked at the ancient Armor covering West and cursed angrily. He instantly transformed into a wisp of Black Smoke and tried to escape.
Tang Song looked at the black mist on the Rooftop, his expression turning cold. His two Sword Pellets were already held in his hand.
With a flick of his wrist, the Sword Pellets rose, transforming into two White Rainbows over ten meters long. They reached the Rooftop in an instant.
The two streaks of silver-white light pierced into the black mist, weaving and intersecting, directly shredding the thick black mist into pieces.
"What the hell is that?"
The Black Robed Person's figure dodged the Sword Light formed by the two Sword Pellets in a sorry state.
The sharp Sword Light cut through his black robe, revealing a withered Skeleton inside.
Immediately after, this withered Skeleton was shredded into dust by the intersecting Sword Light.
