**Chapter 45: Taking Over**
In the HK waters, under the cover of night, two eight-cylinder Speedboats rode the wind and waves.
In HK, speedboats modified by smugglers with added motors and engines are called "Speedboats".
Each engine boasts 200 horsepower. Speedboats equipped with six or eight such engines are far beyond the reach of HK Marine Police boats.
Kane stood at the stern of the Speedboat, holding a phone in his left hand and shouldering a shoulder-fired rocket launcher in his right. While on the phone, he stared at the few pursuing HK Marine Police boats.
The eight motors of the Speedboat carved several white lines across the sea surface, yet Kane stood as steady as a mountain. At his feet, several packages were tightly secured in sealed bags.
"The vessel ahead, stop and accept inspection by the Police Officer! This is the HK Marine Police, stop and accept inspection!"
"The vessel ahead, stop and accept inspection by the Police Officer! This is the HK Marine Police, stop and accept inspection!"
"The vessel ahead, stop and accept inspection by the Police Officer! This is the HK Marine Police, stop and accept inspection!"
...
The voice from the HK Marine Police patrol boat gradually faded as the Speedboat accelerated, disappearing from earshot.
Only then did Kane unload the rocket launcher from his shoulder.
"Clean up the loose ends! Bring the people and the goods back to New York!"
Tang Song hung up the phone and walked to the sun umbrella by the swimming pool. He put his arm around Skye and sat down. Opposite them, Norman Osborn and Professor Connors were studying a report.
Not far from the two men, in the swimming pool, five beauties wearing only swimsuits and bikinis were playing, like mermaids.
However, the two men were clearly more interested in the report placed before them than the mermaids.
This was brought by Professor Connors, a feasibility data report on Genetic Recombination.
Norman Osborn stroked the report and said strangely, "This animal experiment data is almost perfect. We can completely apply for human experimentation. What's the hold-up?"
Connors nodded, "The data from several experiments is indeed reasonable, but this is due to the test subjects. The experiment data for recipients using ordinary subjects is not ideal!"
Norman Osborn took the report and carefully flipped through it:
"The gene of this lizard has such a high optimization rate compared to ordinary genes. We can directly clone it and cultivate a batch of test subjects!"
Professor Connors flipped through two pages of the report, pointed to the data on it, and shook his head, saying:
"I have cloned this lizard, but the clones showed no difference in activity or state compared to ordinary lizards!"
Norman Osborn flipped through the report. Indeed, it recorded it very clearly. The cloned lizard test subjects had a gene conflict with the test subjects, and most of the lab mice died from genetic collapse.
Even if there were survivors, they couldn't survive for too long.
"If we continue at this research pace, Connors, the Board of Directors probably won't agree to invest more funds in this experiment!"
Norman Osborn picked up the report, his tone serious, "As an old friend, Connors, you know I value this experiment of yours!"
"Norman, no no, you have to believe me. Just give me a little more time. As long as I can solve the test subject issue, I can definitely complete the experiment!" Connors quickly waved his hand, explaining to Norman Osborn.
However, his eyes kept secretly looking towards Tang Song.
Tang Song had his arm around Skye, occasionally opening his mouth to accept the fruit she fed him.
Though his eyes weren't on the two men, Tang Song was inwardly smiling gleefully. These two were clearly putting on a show.
Norman Osborn, that old fox, had decent acting skills, but how could an academic type like Connors have any acting skills?
He was starting to understand why Norman Osborn had invited him over for a banquet.
It was about the lizard he had modified with spiritual energy.
This lizard, used to deal with the experiment, had been nourished by his spiritual energy. Although it couldn't be called an exotic beast, it was much stronger than an ordinary lizard.
It was more than enough to be used as a test subject.
Knowing Norman Osborn's plan, Tang Song had no intention of cultivating another one. The reason he had spent effort cultivating Xiao Hei back then was partly to leave a backup plan.
In the Heshan Scripture, there is a magic art called Seven Killings Primordial Spirit!
It ranks first among the seventy-two magic arts of the Heshan Scripture. It allows one's own soul to possess other creatures.
It dissolves the exotic beast's soul and merges one's own soul onto it. It is an evil technique to extend lifespan. Although it is an evil technique, for a low-rank cultivator, it means having an extra life.
Although Tang Song was skilled and daring, the caution in his bones made him prepare for the worst.
In case he encountered a calamity one day, or ran into a Bald Mage when he went out, having an extra life was always good.
After all, in the Marvel World, the number of people who could casually crush him to death was no less than on the Yanfu Continent.
As for whether the body was human, Tang Song said he didn't care. After all, if there really was an emergency and his life was gone, who would still care about how to live?
Thinking this, Tang Song subconsciously rubbed the jade thumb ring on his thumb. Xiao Hei, his emergency rations, shivered in its sleep.
"Tang, you are also an expert in this area. Analyze for us, where is the anomaly in this experiment data?"
Norman Osborn saw that Tang Song wasn't paying attention to them. His eyes flashed with a sharp light, and he handed the experiment report in his hand towards Tang Song.
Tang Song took the report from Norman Osborn's hand. He held it but didn't flip through it, instead handing it back to Connors.
"In the genetic aspect, Professor is the expert. For me to show off in front of him, as we say in The East, is like showing off one's woodcutting skills in front of a professional lumberjack!"
"However!" Tang Song looked at the two people whose eyes showed disappointment, and changed the subject, "If this experiment project is short on funds, I can invest!"
"Hearing Mr. Norman's meaning, Oscorp's Board of Directors doesn't favor this project. If it really doesn't work, I can invest, or directly take over this project!"
Tang Song smiled and revealed his fangs.
Regarding the project led by Connors, no one understood the stakes better than Tang Song.
This was one of the few experiment projects in the Marvel World that could mass-produce supernatural power.
Although there were some side effects, Tang Song naturally had a way to solve these aftereffects.
"You take over? Tang, are you joking?"
Norman Osborn was somewhat surprised. It wasn't that he doubted Tang Song's financial resources.
Rather, he didn't understand Tang Song's motive. A gang leader, so interested in biotechnology, even going to his company as an intern and personally participating in a project.
This couldn't help but make Norman Osborn suspect Tang Song's motive.
Compared to Norman Osborn, Connors' expression was much richer.
Excitement, surprise, rescued from a desperate situation.
Connors led this project, spending massive amounts of research funding every day, yet had not produced results.
Although Norman Osborn had always supported him, Oscorp was not Norman Osborn's personal domain after all. He needed to be responsible to the Board of Directors and investors.
Research funding had always been a sword hanging over Professor Connors' head. Every day he woke up, he worried about his project being cut.
Connors had dreamed several times about Oscorp withdrawing funds and shelving the project. Waking up in a fright at midnight, Connors would involuntarily stroke his incomplete right arm.
"Tang, the subsequent research and development funds for this project will cost at least hundreds of millions of US dollars!"
Although Professor Connors was excited, he still couldn't help but remind Tang Song.
