Chapter 1 - Same condition as mine

[Hizuki at home]

Every morning when I wake up.

I always feel like a part of me is missing in my life.

[Takina unknown location]

Tears run down my face for no reason.

My heart echos in pain like it's trying to call out for someone.

[Simultaneously]

Am I...

[Hizuki]

[ 1 June 2045]

Ever since I was born, my mother always kept me indoors and when I reached the age of six, she started leaving me by my lonesome and with nothing to do. Fun was just another word to me because I didn't know what it meant... Even now, I still don't get its meaning.

When I am around a group of people, I attempt to ask what they are doing, but just like always they answer me that they are having fun. But even if they tell me...

I still feel nothing when I try to copy what they are doing.

[07:00 AM]

"Hey, woke up, you are going to be late to school again!" A young woman's voice called out.

That's my little sister calling me downstairs, she always wakes me up every morning, but she doesn't know that I am always awake when she calls.

I always stare at the roof of my room for no reason that I don't know of, is it maybe that I'm always hoping for something to happen.

After I risen up from my bed the first thing I sometimes do is look at my window to see if I made it or if I am still in hell.

The sun always shines brighter at this hour of the day, and I hate to say, it always makes me feel uncomfortable. Every time it's out there I feel like I could just keep sleeping and wait for it to disappear into the empty skies.

[KNOCK, KNOCK!!]

'Who could be knocking at my door?'

I wondered as I turned around to face the door. But I didn't even need to wonder who it was, because I leave alone with my little sister so maybe it could have been her knocking. So, I went to check without replying to her first, but the moment I opened the door I was surprised to see that it wasn't my little sister knocking on the door but a girl I have never seen before in my life.

'Who's is this?' Was the first question that popped out of my mind.

"Oh, you are not ready yet?"

She said with a surprised look on her face, and she was wearing the same uniform as the girls at my school wear. But for some reason she was wearing two different colored socks.

"Who are you?" I asked while trying to keep my cool.

"What?" She uttered. But then she added with a smile that up lifted her surprised look.

"Oh, my name is Kaguya Tamaki, but you can just call me Tama."

Strange, but still. I had no idea who she was, and I wasn't planning to play along with her since I had no idea who she was, so I said it directly to her face.

"I still have no idea who you are?"

She looked down with a disappointed look on her face as I stood by the door and kept looking at her, and that's when my little sister showed up with two cups filled with orange juice and some cookies on a plate.

"Oh?" She uttered.

I and the girl named Tama turned and looked at her.

"What are you still doing out here?" My sister asked, her eyes were filled with surprise while her face remained normal like always.

"Hey sis." I said as my sister approached us.

"Hey." Tamaki uttered nervously as she looked away from my sister slowly and looking down.

Suddenly I started coughing really had grabbing Tamaki's solo look and my sister's eyes grew a little bit, her face looked shocked, and she uttered with a sad voice as tears started forming in her eyes.

"Big brother."

I tried to stop myself by using force to stop coughing, but I still continued and as I looked in my hands, they were filled with blood since I was coughing. So, I rushed back inside my room to get some tissue so that I could use if I don't stop coughing.

I glanced at my back to see if there was some water laying around on a table that was in the room, but in doing so I saw Tamaki surprised and I think she was feeling sorry for me, then suddenly she moved away from the door quickly.

On the table I saw a cup but it looked like there was no water inside it, but still, I still went to check it as I slowly stopped coughing.

As I was approaching the cup I looked at the door by mistake and saw my sister crying while still standing with the cookies and the cups filled with juice in hand. I think she froze in shock because I was the only one left for her in this world.

Suddenly, I started hearing footsteps downstairs and they sounded like they were coming here but in a hurry.

My sister's tears kept on falling while running down her chicks.

"No, this can't be happening again..."

She uttered as I tried to grab the cup on the table but accidentally grabbed some pills in a small white bottle.

The footsteps became louder and as my sister continued to cry softly, I opened the bottle and took out two pills as the coughing started to increase again. But as I was about to ingest the pills I fell down on my knees when suddenly the footsteps started to sound like they were just right outside my room.

"Here, drink this." A girl said as she grabbed my shoulder, her tone concerned.

I looked up at the girl while trying to figure out who she was at the same time while trying to grab whatever she was giving me.

"It's you." I said while taking the cup off her hands. The girl was just Tamaki, and she was giving me some water to drink.

Without a second thought, I gobbled up the water together with the two pills I was trying to ingest earlier. The moment I did so, I stopped coughing.

"How do you feel?" Tamaki asked.

I looked at her, and said, "Thanks for that." As I turned to look at my sister who was still frozen with shock. I stood up on my fit and started heading to check on my sister.

'What have I done.'

I wondered as got closer to her. Even though I was in front of her, it was like she could not see me anymore.

I removed the plate with the two cups of orange juice and the cookies off her hands and then slowly placed them on the floor. The moment I placed them on the floor I hugged my sister gently, but she still could not move.

"I'm sorry..."

"I didn't mean to try and leave you alone..."

"It's okay now, because I am alright."

I said as tears started to gather up in my eyes as my sister slowly starts to shift her right hand.

Tamaki stood by my bedroom door and watched as I hug my sister, then my sister lifted her arm up a little bit and placed it on my back.

Moments later after my sister had come down, she fell asleep in my arms. I lifted her up and carried her inside my room to rest for a moment. Tamaki was still standing by the door and as I was passing by with my sister, she gave us a way to pass.

I put down my sister slowly and took one of my cleanest blankets and covered her.

Tamaki approached me as I turned to look at her.

"How did you know what I needed when I was coughing earlier?" I asked while I touched my shirt by the chest.

She stayed quiet for a second but then replied with a concerned voice as she took in a deep breath.

"I have a friend named Takina, and she sometimes coughs like you just did earlier. And every time she does so, she always asks me to get her some water."

She looked at me and then added.

"My friend have a heart disease, and she might die anytime..."

"Do you by any chance... have the same condition?"

She asked while I looked at her. Her face suddenly changed from concerned to solo as she was asking me the question.

"A heart disease...?"

"No. But I can't say my condition is great either."

I replied. My voice sounded like I resonated with her friend's condition.

I slowly started to walk towards the window while Tamaki watched me closely. Her eyes were showing that she maybe had some more questions about my condition, so I continued talking the moment I reached the window.

"I've got blood cancer."

"And I might also die anytime."

Her face expression suddenly changed to being worried.

'I can't say I felt great either, but as much as I'd love to die and leave this world. I can't bear to see my sister leaving by her lonesome.'

"By the way..."

"I still don't know who you are."

I said as I turned to face Tamaki who was still standing still and looking at me with a worried face.

"Oh, I am your new neighbor. I just moved in last week, and I noticed that you were going to the same school as me."

"So, I came to say hello."

She said while trying to force a smile on her face, while I looked at her legs.

"Oh, you may be wondering about my socks."

"The truth is that the pair I used to wear have some holes on them."

She said while she puts her hands together and started to move them slowly left and right as I looked up at her face.
