Chapter 22 - Chapter 22:What Good Is A Barrier If It Can't Stop Light.

"The Four Red Sun Formation… A barrier ninjutsu that requires the cooperation of four Kage-level shinobi—truly terrifying."

Zenkichi glanced around at the Four Red Sun Formation. The crimson barrier flickered faintly as he raised his hand. A cross-shaped light spun lazily on his fingertips.

Laser laser!

A golden beam shot out, colliding with the barrier and making it tremble. But it held.

"As expected of a jutsu capable of containing a Tailed Beast Ball… what a terrifying defense."

Zenkichi's voice rang out with exaggerated enthusiasm, but the unshaken calm in his eyes betrayed his amusement.

"You've tested it. Now give up, won't you?"

Danzo Shimura sneered, glaring mockingly at Zenkichi.

Zenkichi yawned lazily. "Ah… that's a no from me. Sitting around and waiting to die just isn't my thing."

The Four Red Sun Formation was new to Arakawa Zenkichi, and he was still curious to examine it more closely.

He turned his gaze toward the ground and smirked. "Tell me, your barrier doesn't cover the ground, does it?"

He remembered: the Four Purple Flame Formation in the original anime enclosed from the four cardinal points and sealed the top. But the Four Red Sun Formation surrounded only the sides. The top was often sealed—especially when summoning the Myojin Gate—but the ground was another matter entirely.

According to his analysis, whether or not the base was sealed seemed to be flexible, depending on the user's intention.

Danzo scoffed. "We're on the second floor. It's not soil—you can't phase through it."

Zenkichi smiled. "Who said I'd use Earth Style to escape?"

True. The Four Red Sun Formation didn't inherently block underground escape. No ninjutsu was perfect. Even this high-level barrier had its flaws.

Upon hearing Zenkichi's words, the expressions of the Third Hokage and others changed noticeably.

Strange, Zenkichi thought. Weren't they worried someone might dig their way out?

---

"Here's some advice—next time you want to trap someone, don't pick a high-rise building."

Zenkichi lifted his leg. The golden cross-shaped light gleamed at his heel—

Lightspeed Kick!

The Hokage Building shook violently. Debris rained down. The Four Red Sun Formation wavered as the Kage fled in disarray, unable to maintain the barrier.

Zenkichi's kick had shattered the second-floor foundation—and with it, the entire Hokage Building began to collapse.

"Easier than I expected."

Watching the Hokage and others scramble for safety, Zenkichi shook his head, unimpressed.

The Four Red Sun Formation's flaw was obvious—it couldn't block the ground. If it could, its value would skyrocket.

Even then, Zenkichi reasoned, his kick likely would've shattered the floor regardless. That kind of attack could transmit force through the barrier, even deform it.

The formation, despite its strength, was flexible, not indestructible. Obito had once used an oversized Tailed Beast Ball against it, showing its elasticity.

It was like rubber—durable but not impenetrable.

And since Zenkichi could convert into light particles, he could phase through its translucent surface with ease.

Even if the ground had been sealed, it wouldn't have stopped him.

However—there was one significant downside. The red barrier radiated searing heat. Once the five directions—front, back, left, right, and top—were covered, the ground soon followed, encasing all inside in blazing chakra.

---

From the wreckage of the Hokage Building, Konoha shinobi fled in panic.

A golden flicker in the sky descended into a humanoid figure—Zenkichi—landing smoothly on the ground.

"Your plan's failed."

"What now, Konoha?"

Zenkichi smiled coldly as he faced the Third Hokage and the others.

"Uchiha Flame Formation!"

Low chants echoed around him. Konoha jōnin from the Uchiha clan appeared, surrounding the battlefield. They raised their hands, activating a clan-exclusive barrier technique.

Zenkichi scoffed and burst into shimmering light particles, hurtling toward the edge of the barrier.

What good is a barrier if it can't stop light itself?

Moments later, Zenkichi reappeared outside the formation.

"How… how is that possible?"

The Third Hokage and the others stared in disbelief. He had passed through their barrier like it was air.

"It's useless."

"These boring barriers do nothing to me."

Zenkichi grinned at the group. They needed to learn just how pointless their resistance really was.

From nearby, an ANBU hidden in the shadows completed a hand seal, locking onto Zenkichi.

Mind Transfer Jutsu!

A member of the Yamanaka clan launched his consciousness directly into Zenkichi's mind.

---

In Zenkichi's mental world, a figure appeared—a young ANBU with orange hair.

"So this is the spiritual space?"

"The Yamanaka clan's Mind Transfer Jutsu actually creates access to someone's mental world? That's... incredible."

Zenkichi was genuinely intrigued. This was the first time he'd become aware of such a realm.

"You're finished."

The ANBU didn't hesitate—his goal was simple: suppress Zenkichi's consciousness and take control of his body.

"Young ANBU..."

"You should really assess the power gap before attempting something like this."

Zenkichi raised a single finger—and with a flick, sent the ANBU soul flying.

Observation Haki originates in the heart.

It's not about listening with your ears—it's sensing with your soul.

After acquiring Kizaru's Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), Zenkichi's spiritual power had reached terrifying levels.

A mere Konoha ANBU was no match.
