"Congratulations, you have slain your first monster trainee, how do you feel." The end of Ray's blade was still heavy with the creature's corpse as Zarrick spoke.

"A bit underwhelmed, if im honest." indeed Ray felt like he missed out on something. the knowledge that low-level monsters don't give exp was a bit underwhelming.

"That's to be expected, A Squallor is a weak creature Afterall, when you actually use your strength even a child can fight one." Zarrick muttered, completely mis-understanding the reason why. yet Ray didn't move to correct him.

"during your time here, you will mainly be working on Squallor's, your puny strength can barely handle anything else. So you got to get used to it. once you can kill a Squallor with your eyes closed. then we will move onto your next training."

"Now on how to butcher it..."

Ray spent the rest of the afternoon in Zarrick's workshop learning all the effective ways to butcher a Squallor.

For every day since then Ray would kill at least 2 Squallor's and butcher them, Learning how to pluck their feathers, fillet their skin and remove their bones. He quickly became proficient in the task.

By ray's 12th Birthday he was killing 3, sometimes even 4 Squallor's a day. their corpses would often be brought in by knights and soldiers alike too, so although he killed few. i dismembered 1000's. Sadly butchering didn't count towards his slaughter skill.

--------------------

The past year had been pretty monotonous for Ray. 'lift, kill, butcher, eat, sleep' all on repeat everyday. The boy couldn't take a rest day due to Bodybuilding requiring constant practice.

Waking up that morning was different from every other day, Ray had to make a choice.

"I'm twelve now" he muttered. "im able to join the knights school, but... if i do, i have to stop going to the butchery, i wont have time to do both." It was a tough decision, did he give up Common slaughterer for now, in favor of knight school? or stick to training Slaughterer?

Ray looked up from his thoughts and met his now Deep-red eyes, not a trace of his former green within. His gaze hardened. "Military training gives to many stats to pass up, plus maybe i could complete slaughterer in the army. I'll do it"

Ever since he gained the system, Rays will had been subconsciously hardening. Changing so subtly yet enough to influence his choices, the prior pre-system version of him wouldn't have the courage to join the military.

or maybe it wasn't the system's influence that hardened his will. Rays mind was still scarred by the Zerran, how it effortlessly murdered 3 well trained knights and left virtually unharmed. His mind was trained by killing Squallor's everyday and enduring hard labour with no complaints.

Not even he himself knew the reason for his constantly hardening will, his willingness to foist himself into danger for improvement. but it didn't feel unnatural to him.

The boy quickly reached the front gates of the knight training school, it was a un-named institute built by the Silverskin family to gather all the talented fighters in this town and train them, as long as they had money or a admission letter they could enter. regardless of identity nor prior experiences.

A stone-faced officer quickly snatched his admission letter and lead the kid to a expansive dorm-room with a total of 16 wooden beds. the bald emotionless officer looked at Ray with disgust before stating simply. "you have... lets see" he shuffled through some notes. "11 dorm-mates, settle in and go to class".

He abandoned Ray lost and confused in the dorm-room with no idea what to do next, he offloaded his spare two sets of clothes in the foot-locker and started exploring the building.

"Okay so where do i go" he wondered the building like a lost animal, because that's how he felt. Each door had a sign on it telling the locations purpose yet that wasn't very useful for the illiterate Ray, he ended up poking his head into every room until he found where he was supposed to be.

27 children aged 12-17 were lined up roughly facing an instructor, the instructor looked over and his eyes met Ray as he entered the room. "Your late child, line up with the others." the instructor said with a cold un-caring voice. 'Observe'.

'This man, is the strongest individual I've seen', Ray gulped. between Alex Eartine's stats and his extensive skill-page its obvious he's a well trained individual. Reaching the limits of what a human is capable of.

Alex Eartine was a expressionless old man, with a age nearing 50. yet he looked as if he's in his late 30's. A stat of 15 meant touching upon the human limit and with it came a great increase in capability. his constitution ensured his lifespan would reach 100, and his body strength was closing in on 300kg.

Just by standing there Infront of Ray he felt as if a beast was gazing upon him, and would that feeling even be wrong. Alex Eartine was alike beast in human skin and the best teacher Ray could ask for.
