The mountains of Édéa stretched to the horizon, vast and silent, like guardians of an ancient secret. In this world, magic was no mere gift, but an invisible chain, a pact sealed between the soul and a mythological entity, a contract that shaped destiny, power and existence.
Édéa society was divided into rigid castes, where the nobility, linked to the most powerful divine spirits, arrogantly dominated, while commoners, linked to minor or unstable spirits, fought for their place, often despised and confined to subordinate roles.
Lower still, the voiceless, devoid of pact, were regarded as vain shadows, relics of a forgotten time.
But at the heart of this system, an even darker shadow loomed: that of the Nemesis. Beings linked to forbidden pacts, forgotten or banished entities whose very existence was denied by the powers that be.
