Chapter 42 - Ch- 42 Bonds Across Distance

The next morning dawned with soft light cascading over the rooftops of Pallet Town. Yesterday's grandeur hadn't faded from people's hearts — it had only deepened.

Though the official announcement had already been made, the townspeople still felt they hadn't celebrated Akg's achievement enough.

.....

As Akg stepped out of his house, a crowd was already forming.

Banners of "We Love You, Professor Akg!" lined the street, and children ran up to him holding handmade cards, small flower bouquets, and homemade treats.

Elderly townsfolk, trainers, and shopkeepers surrounded him with warm words and gifts — from rare berries to handwritten scrolls of appreciation.

Even Rena, walking beside him, received shy smiles and soft greetings.

...

The mayor of Pallet Town personally delivered a heartfelt speech praising Akg's contributions to science and the town's honor.

He received a special lab coat with golden embroidery, stitched with his name and Pallet's symbol — a rising sun over a Poké Ball.

Akg gave a humble reply, thanking every villager for believing in him and promising to always uphold the values he grew up with.

....

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in amber and violet, Akg returned home — tired but content.

After a warm bath and dinner, he relaxed in his room with Rena cuddled beside him, silently watching the night sky through the window.

Then came a familiar chime — a video call alert.

Akg opened it and was instantly greeted by the smiling faces of Serena, Korrina, and Chloe.

....

Serena: "Akg, I saw the announcement! I'm so happy for you! You've really become amazing... just like I always imagined."

Korrina: "Heh! Look at you, Professor now! I guess I gotta work harder to keep up with you. But seriously... congrats, Akg. You deserve it."

Chloe: Calm and composed as always, but her voice was soft. "The whole school was talking about you today. I felt proud... knowing I know you personally."

Their eyes were full of admiration, but also a soft warmth — something deeper than just respect.

Akg smiled gently, brushing a hand through his hair. "Thank you... all of you. Hearing this from you makes everything feel even more real."

They talked for hours.

Laughter, teasing, shared memories, and even a little playful competition about "who gets the first date with Professor Akg" made the chat lively.

Even Rena joined the call, waving sweetly while staying close to Akg, which made the girls smile warmly. There was no jealousy — only shared love and understanding.

As the call ended and the screen faded,

Akg leaned back on his bed. Rena rested her head on his chest, her eyes closed peacefully.
