Chapter 3: Threads in the Shadows

The hospital room fell quiet after the Drax family departed. The scent of antiseptic lingered in the air, and sunlight filtered softly through tinted glass. Aven lay on the bed, eyes fixated on the ceiling. The last few hours had been a blur of family, machines, and tension hiding behind polite smiles.

"This world... it's different," Aven muttered, his fingers tightening slightly around the blanket.

People here were stronger than on Earth. Not in obvious ways, but their bodies carried density, energy, power. The air on Velmora was denser, the gravity a touch stronger. It made sense. But even with that, he could feel it — this body had potential. Greater than his past life.

"Whatever it is, I can develop this body better than before..."

A small smirk formed on his lips. He would become unstoppable.

Suddenly — a strange humming noise echoed inside his skull.

Synchronicity: Detected.

Soul Fusion Found.

Synchronization Progress: 10%... 30%... 70%... 99%... 100% Complete.

Aven's eyes widened. "What... the hell?"

Super AI Orion has successfully attached to master.

Aven jolted upright. The voice wasn't spoken aloud. It echoed inside his mind.

"Who's speaking? What the hell is this?!"

Hello, Master, the voice returned, calm and serene. I am Orion, a Super AI designed to assist the worthy. I've detected soul fusion within you. You are not just to rivan bosc— you are also have the soul of aven drax .

Aven drax soul fused tothyours soul .

Aven's breath caught. The memories, the emotions — he had wondered why he felt so connected to the Drax family so quickly. Why the transition was too smooth.

"So... you're saying Aven isn't dead?"

Correct. His soul has merged completely with yours. This isn't a takeover, but a synthesis. That's why his emotions live in you, and his attachments make sense. You are both — and more.

Aven's fingers trembled slightly. "Then... who created you? Why are you in my mind?"

I am from the God level Civilization. I am not native of Velmora. I was built for one purpose: to assist the one who are worthy and chosen one and You were chosen.

"Chosen?" Aven's eyes narrowed. "So someone knew this would happen? Someone arranged my rebirth?"

He felt a chill. Something twisted in his spine — an unseen hand guiding his life .

Do not worry, Master. There is no malice. I cannot reveal more at this time. But you will find other parts — aids built to assist to your rise. My presence is a sign of the path ahead.

Aven took a deep breath. This wasn't something he could wrap his head around in one go.

"Then... what can you do exactly?"

I can interface with Velmora's technology. Hack, learn, analyze. I can provide blueprints of advance technology beyond this world's tech, but those blueprints will require you to complete some challenges — quests, if you will. Earned through your actions.

I can also display your status and provide you formula of a basic bloodline serum that will begin strengthening your physical and spiritual foundation.

Aven laughed dryly. "So you're basically a system out of a fantasy novel."

Yes, Master. You may refer to me as such if it helps.

Just then—

10 Hours Earlier – Drax Tower Private Intelligence Room

The lights were dim. The hum of projectors echoed gently in the massive glass-paneled room. William, clad in a black suit with an obsidian pin shaped like a hawk, stood at attention before a large table. Across from him sat Darion Drax — Aven's second uncle, the industrial tycoon.

Darion's hair was salt and charcoal, combed meticulously back. He wore a steel-gray military jacket with gold trimmings, collar high, sharp eyes focused like a hawk.

"Sir," William said, clearing his throat. "We've confirmed. The attack on Young Master Aven was orchestrated by the Veron family."

Darion's expression didn't change.

"Their reason?"

"Niremo Development Project, sir. The young master secured the railway initiative linked to the southern logistic artery. Veron had been targeting it for a year. When we submitted final plans, they realized we had beaten them."

"So they lashed out like cowards," Darion said coldly. "Their eldest son, Valeck Veron, was behind the move. We believe they intended it to appear as an accident."

"Why didn't our intelligence catch it beforehand?"

"They worked through a proxy syndicate out of Tavoran City. Clean records. Temporary assets. We didn't expect direct involvement so soon."

Darion stood, back straight, and moved toward the large window. Niremo's skyline glittered beyond. A city born from ambition — and blood.

"Prepare the private lift. I'll speak to the family head tonight. And tomorrow... I'll visit Aven."

That Night – Drax Estate, War Room

The estate was massive — a hidden fortress carved into the mountainside, with transparent ceiling domes revealing the night sky. Inside, at a wide obsidian table shaped like a sword, sat Kaelion Drax, head of the family.

His appearance was regal and imposing. Raven-black hair , and a silver crest pulsed softly at his collarbone — a living tattoo of authority.

Darion entered. They didn't exchange greetings. It wasn't needed.

"Veron has drawn blood," Darion began. "Aven was targeted because he stole their prize."

Kaelion stared at the flickering hologram of the Veron logo, it explained some details of veron family ---

Family Head: Lord Vairen Veron

Age: 61

Appearance: Tall and lean, always in obsidian robes with crimson embroidery, cold gray eyes

Traits: Cold, analytical, power-obsessed, operates through proxies

Position: Chairman of Veron MegaWorks — the top infrastructure firm in Zandora

Known For: Never showing emotion in public, known to fund underground networks quietly.

"Cowards, as always."

"They made it look like an accident. But the evidence is clear. They cannot be allowed to walk freely."

Kaelion finally spoke, his voice deep and quiet like a storm waiting to break. "I will not forgive anyone who attacks my son. Prepare the silent order."

"Understood. I'll mobilize Kaen and our two elite squads. No direct war yet — but let them feel our shadow."

Kaelion nodded slowly. "Also... prepare for a deeper investigation. If Veron dares to move so boldly, they may not be acting alone."

"You suspect some other family interference?"

Kaelion's eyes narrowed. "I suspect... more than that."

Back at the Hospital – Present Time

Aven opened his eyes, the conversation with Orion still ringing in his mind.

I can help you rise, Master. But this path... will not be easy.

Aven grinned. "Easy isn't worth my time anyway."

Outside, clouds gathered over Niremo. Storms always brewed before empires rose.
