Chapter 1 - 1. Check-in

It's been a long 17 years since I was teleported to this world.

I used to live a normal life in Japan. I didn't have many friends, but the ones I had were loyal. I had a great job and earned an above-average salary.

Everything was going well in my life, until… lightning struck the back of my neck.

I never imagined that standing under a tree during a storm could be so dangerous.

Did you know that the chance of being struck by lightning is 1 in 1,000,000? (0.000001%)

However, instead of feeling frustrated, I felt a wave of happiness rush through my entire body.

Even though I had lived a good and relatively worry-free life, I always felt like something was missing… I was lacking a bit of action!

Then I realized I hadn't actually died. In fact, I had been teleported to another world—one I knew a lot about.

Even as a baby, I could understand everything around me. I noticed I was on a boat in the middle of the sea.

Seeing that, I could only think of two possible worlds…

Either I had reincarnated as a rich man's son in a bourgeois setting, or I was in the world of One Piece, born on some random pirate ship.

Then I saw a man approach the woman holding me. He wore a hat with a feather on it… That's when I was certain of one of the options.

I was in the world of One Piece!

...

"Why is it taking so long?"

Shiro asked himself, lying on the ground and staring at the sky.

After 17 years, there had been no sign of any trickery… Where was that ultra-powerful system that would make him rich? All he had done this entire time was wait for a floating screen to appear in front of him.

Was he doomed to live life as a regular character in One Piece?

If that were the case, he could already say goodbye to his peaceful life… He was incredibly lucky to have survived for 17 years without being hunted by a dangerous pirate.

But this is when the real danger begins. If his calculations were correct, today was the day Luffy would set sail to begin his adventure.

Maybe the moment Luffy left his island would be the trigger for the end of Shiro's peace...

[Ding! Check-in System loading. 10%... 20%... 50%... 70%... 100%!]

Seeing this, a wide smile appeared on Shiro's face. This is what he had been waiting for!

"How could I be so foolish? Of course the system would only activate once the main story began!"

Shiro concluded, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world… He didn't even consider the possibility that the system had forgotten about him. It would never do that… right?

Putting that thought aside, Shiro stared at the floating screen, stars in his eyes. It was as beautiful as the ones he had seen in the manhwas he used to read.

Even though the main sources of entertainment in his country were manga and anime, he always preferred manhwas.

Because of that, he knew a lot about how these systems worked.

"Check-in System, introduce yourself!"

A mechanical voice echoed in his mind and began to speak:

[As my name suggests, this is a Daily Check-in System. By performing daily check-ins, you will receive rewards.

However, you can only check in at specific places or by completing missions assigned by the system.

Check-ins and missions are categorized as: White, Green, Blue, Purple, Gold, Red, Black, Rainbow.]

"The functions of this system are pretty simple… I like that!" Shiro said with a big smile.

After that, he waited patiently for the system to do something for him…

Some time passed, and the system still hadn't done what he expected. He started to feel a bit disappointed but tried talking to it.

"Hmm, system, I know it might seem strange for me to talk to you, but… where's my starter pack?" Shiro shamelessly asked. He had just received an incredible system and was already asking for more. "As far as I know, most regular systems offer one, so I thought that—"

He was interrupted by a blinding light that covered his vision. When the light faded, a new notification appeared in front of him.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have just received the Rainbow-tier Starter Pack! To open it, simply give a voice command!]

"Incredible!" Shiro exclaimed. "You're quite a generous system, you know… You've already given me so many good things…" A tear escaped his eye.

[...]

"Alright, alright… Now let's get to the good part. Open Starter Pack!" he ordered, waiting for his command to be fulfilled.

[Rainbow-tier Starter Pack has been opened!

Reward: Conqueror's Haki (Rainbow)]

Note: "Daily uses: 1"

"Wow!" Shiro said, excited. He hadn't expected his first reward to be something so amazing. A power that reveals a person's inner will—something only those with the spirit of a king possess.

Although he was slightly disappointed that he could only use the ability once per day, he was still satisfied. After all, who wouldn't be happy to receive the King's Haki?

All he needed to do now was find a way off the island and begin his adventure… But that was already about to be resolved.
