Chapter 11 - The Watchers From Above

 Summary:

Leo's peaceful declaration and Elyna's explosive victory have shaken the academy. Rumors spread like wildfire, catching the attention of higher authorities.

A mysterious visitor arrives — **High Inquisitor Caelus**, a representative from the **Church of Light**, who has been hunting remnants of dark magic for years.

Selene receives secret orders: if Leo cannot be confirmed as harmless, he must be eliminated.

Meanwhile, Grimwald warns that the Church is not known for mercy — and they don't believe in second chances.

Leo knows it's only a matter of time before his past catches up with him.

---

The peace I had hoped for didn't last long.

By morning, the academy was buzzing with rumors.

> "He said he used to be the Dark Lord."

> "That baby? Come on, he can't even walk properly."

> "But what about the explosion yesterday? That wasn't normal magic…"

> "Maybe we should call the Church."

And apparently, someone did.

At noon, a carriage pulled up at the main gates of Saint Regulus Academy.

It wasn't just any carriage.

It was black. Engraved with silver crosses. And surrounded by armored guards carrying banners marked with the symbol of the **Church of Light**.

Inside stepped a man dressed in white and gold robes, his face calm but eyes sharp like a predator's.

> High Inquisitor **Caelus Valdrith**.

One of the most feared figures in the continent when it came to dealing with heretics, former cultists, and especially… reincarnated villains.

I watched from the window as Selene met him at the gate.

They exchanged a few words.

Then she looked up.

Right at me.

I felt a chill run through my tiny body.

Not because I was scared.

But because I knew what this meant.

> They were coming for me.

The Inquisition Begins

Later that day, I was summoned to the headmaster's office.

Elyna wanted to come with me, but Tessia stopped her.

"This isn't a game," she warned. "This is serious."

Elyna frowned but nodded.

Grimwald followed me silently, keeping his expression neutral.

When we entered the office, Caelus was already there, sitting across from Headmaster Duvall.

He turned his gaze toward me.

I stared back.

He smiled faintly.

"A pleasure to meet you, little one," he said smoothly. "Or should I say… Kaiser von Zerath?"

I blinked.

> He knew.

Of course he did.

He leaned forward.

"I've read the reports. The aura. The whispers. The duel. And now… your own words."

He studied me carefully.

"So tell me, child… are you truly no longer a threat?"

I held his gaze.

Then I spoke clearly.

"I am not here to harm anyone. I want to live peacefully. To learn. To grow. To understand what it means to be human."

He smiled again.

"That's what they all say."

A Dangerous Game

The meeting lasted nearly an hour.

Caelus asked questions. I answered them carefully.

He tested my knowledge of history, magic theory, and ethics.

He even tried to provoke me — mentioning names of people I once destroyed.

I didn't flinch.

Grimwald remained silent the entire time, watching closely.

Finally, Caelus stood.

"I will report this to the Church," he said. "But make no mistake… if you break your word…"

He paused.

> "…We won't hesitate to end you."

I gave him a small nod.

"Understood."

As he left, I felt something else.

> Eyes watching me from the shadows.

Selene.

She hadn't moved since the start of the meeting.

Now, she handed me a folded note.

I opened it.

Two sentences.

> "You're lying. But I don't think you're evil.

> Still… if you endanger this world again, I'll stop you."

I looked up.

She was gone.
