Chapter 7: Triumphs and a New Companion
Lu Yuan waited for a few seconds, but no expected notification came. Just as he was about to leave, a sweet sound chimed in his mind: "Ding! Main Quest Completed! Competition Rate Calculating… Defeat Luo Feng: 100% completed!"
Then, a series of pings followed:
"Ding! Congratulations on host getting 200 Wood Crystals!"
"Ding! Congratulations on host getting Ten Thousand Year Willow Heart!"
"Ding! Host gets a new skill: Soul Cutter!"
"Ding! Congratulations host on getting five thousand points!"
Lu Yuan felt a wave of happiness. These were better rewards than he'd expected. Xiao Yixian didn't understand his actions, but she didn't ask. Everyone had their secrets.
In his happiness, Lu Yuan grabbed her hand and led her out. He'd received great rewards, but he knew he still needed to train.
When his spiritual mastery reached the Warlord level, he'd seen a small universe form in his spirit consciousness, full of cosmic power. He only saw it by chance because there was no cosmic energy in the BTTH world to cultivate it directly.
He couldn't use these new rewards yet. The Willow Heart was for Warlord and God of War levels, and the Wood Crystals for God of War and Planetary levels. Still, he saw a bright future. His spirit mastery was already at Warlord Intermediate, and he decided to use the Ten Thousand Year Willow Heart to break through his physical fitness to the God of War level.
Since it was evening, he decided to stay in Qing Town. They found a rest house. The manager said there was only one room available, and they would have to share. Xiao Yixian's face turned red. Lu Yuan simply said "ok," and the manager gave him the key.
In the room, there was one bed. Lu Yuan playfully grabbed Xiao Yixian, kissed her, and asked, "Do you want to sleep?"
"Yes," she whispered.
He lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed. He whispered in her ear, "I won't do anything unless you become an adult."
The night was quiet. The next morning, they checked out and left the city. On the street, Lu Yuan saw a girl being beaten with stones. He intervened, chasing the guys away. He came closer and asked why they were beating her. The girl, covered in dust and mud, said they called her a "snake girl."
Lu Yuan asked if her parents were snake people. She said yes, but they both died. Lu Yuan asked her name, and she said "Qing Lin." He looked into her eyes and saw her three jade-like pupils. He knew she was Qing Lin, a character from the series. He'd arrived too early; she wasn't with Xiao Yan's mercenary group yet.
Lu Yuan pushed those thoughts aside and asked her, "Do you want to come with me?"
She looked at him, asking in a low voice, "Are you not afraid of snake people and disgusted by me?"
Lu Yuan put his hand on her head and said, "You are a cute girl. How can I be disgusted?"
When he touched her and spoke those words, she felt a slight emotion in her heart. "Can I call you Brother Lu Yuan?" she asked. Lu Yuan smiled and said, "Yes, you can call me whatever you want." Her cheeks flushed red.
After talking for some time, they left the city.
It was evening when they all reached Green Mountain Town. Xiao Yixian prepared another room for Qing Lin, and they both went to sleep.
