Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Ghoul Squad! Elbaf!

Aboard the Rocks Pirates' ship.

"Hahahaha!"

Rocks gazed at the scene on the distant sea, roaring with laughter. "It's truly exaggerated, isn't it, Newgate? Even meteors are falling!"

Whitebeard beside him simply drank his sake in silence, not uttering a word.

"Your quakes are within Roa's ability range, too, aren't they?" Rocks said. "Although that kid probably can't create Quake-Quake Fruit quakes, earthquakes are simple for him."

"Even for a Mythical Zoan, isn't it a bit too exaggerated?" Whitebeard slowly spoke. "The wildest kid, coincidentally gaining the wildest ability."

Roa, who craved disaster, just happened to wield the power to create disaster with a mere flick of his wrist.

"You're right! A wild ability!" Rocks said with interest. "I wonder if Roa's ability is stronger than the legendary Sun God Nika's?"

"Isn't it interesting? The legendary Nika is a liberator, a god who brings hope to the world, while our little Roa is a demon child who feeds on human suffering and brings disaster to the world!"

Whitebeard remained silent.

"Hahahaha! But this kid was born too late!" Rocks laughed loudly. "This world will no longer have a stage for him to show off! I'll put an end to all of it!"

On the battleship, Roa naturally didn't know what his captain was saying. He merely looked at the falling meteor with some disappointment. Its diameter was only about a dozen meters. For now, he could only summon meteors of this size, still far inferior to Fujitora, let alone Madara from another dimension.

The stats weren't enough yet.

The stats Roa felt were insufficient, however, almost drove the Marines below to despair.

"What a joke!!"

A Marine Captain, barely holding onto his sanity against Roa's malice conversion, couldn't help but feel despair. "What kind of monster is this guy?!"

As his mind reeled, black began to spread in his eyes. Another Marine Rear Admiral screamed in shock, "Vice Admiral! It's up to you!"

"..." Vice Admiral Johnson had already leaped into the air, the long sword at his waist instantly covered in black Armament Haki. "Die!"

A vibrant blue sword light blossomed, striking directly at the massive meteor descending from the sky. It must be said, he was indeed worthy of being a Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral; he truly had some tricks up his sleeve. With a single strike, he cut the dozen-meter-diameter meteor in half. The expanding blue sword light illuminated the sky.

"Good footwork! Flying Slash!" Roa praised repeatedly. Armament Haki combined with sword skills that could cut steel. Indeed, it was better not to get close to this guy; otherwise, he really didn't know if his fur could withstand it.

However, this wasn't enough; the two halves of the meteor continued to plummet towards the battleship below. Johnson gritted his teeth, about to swing his sword to shatter the two halves of the meteor into fragments.

But just then.

Crack!

Brilliant blue-white lightning struck, suddenly blasting the unprepared Johnson, who seemed sluggish in the air.

"Wah!"

Amidst a scream, even with timely Armament Haki defense, Johnson was directly struck down into the sea.

Then.

Boom!

The two halves of the meteor instantly crashed onto the fore and aft decks of the battleship. The sturdy decks couldn't withstand the immense kinetic energy of the meteors and were directly pierced through. The entire ship immediately began to fall apart, and a large number of Marines plunged into the sea.

"It really consumes a lot of stamina." Roa sighed. His ability was dazzling, but the consumption was also considerable. Fortunately, at this moment, a lot of dark aura permeated and rose into the sky. Roa simply took a deep breath, and the dark aura absorbed into his body quickly restored his stamina.

"Roa! What have you done, you bastard!!"

Amidst an angry roar, Roa looked down and saw the burnt Marine Vice Admiral, stepping on a shattered wooden plank, rising into the sky.

"How scary!" Roa prudently flapped his wings and flew higher into the sky.

"Moonwalk! Don't even think of running, you scoundrel! I will kill you!" Johnson stomped on the air, chasing after him. Black was already spreading in his eyes.

"Such intense killing intent. Don't say such scary things to a seven-year-old! Also, getting so emotional while fighting me isn't good."

Suddenly, a fierce wind began to rage in the air. A spiraling current of air abruptly churned, engulfing Johnson.

"Ugh!!"

Johnson's face changed drastically; the turbulent airflow instantly caused his Moonwalk to lose control. Moreover, from the dark clouds that had permeated the sky, bolts of lightning crashed down. The Marine Vice Admiral, already unable to gain leverage in the air, was instantly struck repeatedly, then blasted into the sea once again.

"He's still fine?" Roa couldn't help but click his tongue. "What's wrong with the people in this world?"

They're too tough!

Although his naked eye couldn't pierce the surface of the sea, he could see the Vice Admiral's malice.

"You scoundrel!!"

On the sea surface, the Vice Admiral resurfaced, his black Haki gradually dissipating, but his body was still charred from the successive lightning strikes. He looked around; cries of agony filled the air.

"I'll kill you! I must kill you!!"

Veins bulged on the Vice Admiral's forehead as he roared maniacally, "You bastard! I will kill you!!" His roars grew even more insane. "Bastard! Scum! Die! Die! Just die for me! Why aren't you dead yet?!"

The Vice Admiral wildly swung his sword like a madman, releasing erratic flying slashes. Unfortunately, Roa was flying hundreds of meters high, a distance that allowed him to easily dodge the attacks.

Roa sighed. "What a shame. Such good skill, but his emotional management is lacking. It's over now."

In the Vice Admiral's eyes, blackness had already filled most of them. Anger and killing intent completely swayed the Vice Admiral's will, and then Roa allowed these emotions to swell even further. Regrettably, this Vice Admiral seemed to have no ability to suppress his rapidly escalating emotions.

Soon, silence returned to the sea.

A short while later, on the deck.

"How was it, Captain!" Roa proudly showed Rocks his newly acquired puppets. "My Ghoul Squad!"

Five people stood before him. Leading them was Vice Admiral Johnson, flanked by a Marine with Rear Admiral epaulets and three Captains. All five had completely black eyes, having fully become Roa's ghouls.

"This is my first time collecting Marine ghouls!" Roa chuckled.

"That's a disgusting ability." Whitebeard spoke with disdain. "Even if they're enemies, there's no need to insult them to this extent."

"Haha." Roa scratched his head sheepishly, giving a tactical silly grin.

"He's just a child, Newgate." Rocks affectionately ruffled Roa's head. "Don't be too strict."

Yes, he was just a child, and already so malicious. What would he be like when he grew up? Whitebeard shook his head. Never mind, it wasn't his concern. What was a pirate supposed to care about so much?

"Good! Roa!" The Captain glanced at the Marine ghouls, then nodded with satisfaction. "Your ability will shine brightly in the great war to come!" This kid's direct combat ability was still far from enough, but this puppet-making ability was indeed very interesting.

"Hehe." Roa simply chuckled softly.

The next day, the pirate ship finally sailed into the waters near Elbaf.

"It's magnificent!" Roa stood at the bow, gazing at Elbaf in the distance. "This is the land of war! The strongest country in the world?"

On the sea ahead, a giant tree, so vast it seemed to block out the sky, stood majestically. Its crown was divided into two layers, with numerous waterfalls flowing down from both. This was the world's largest Treasure Tree Adam, and where Elbaf was situated! The two layers of the crown plus the ground constituted Elbaf's three regions, known from bottom to top as the Underworld, the Sun World, and the Sky World.

In addition, Roa also saw an absurdly large sword diagonally piercing the middle layer of the crown and sticking into the ground. He wondered who had used it.

Meanwhile, on the coast of Elbaf, there was a port. The giants on the port noticed the approaching ship.

"That's... the Rocks Pirates' ship!"

"The Rocks Pirates are attacking! Prepare for battle!"

"Quickly notify King Harald!!"

So, as the pirate ship sailed into the port, what Roa saw were several giants ready for battle.

"Captain, the locals don't seem very friendly, do they?"
