Chapter 36 : Gotta catch em all.
- Shin –
I had honestly thought that after this long, I wouldn't be surprised by whatever this world threw at me. I mean I might not be able to face them but I will be surprised by them….but Ophis truly deserves the title of the Strongest Being in the World. Even her surprises are….strong.
"Teach me how to play Games."
And then I noticed a broken Gameboy in her hands.
I pointed at it, "This one?"
She nodded.
….the fuck is going on?
"Oh. Okay. Sit here." I pointed to a seat beside me.
I was also surprised that no one….absolutely fucking no one said a single word.

She looked towards my peerage, Sakuya to be precise.
"Sakuya, would you get us some snacks and drinks please?"
Sakuya nodded and left.

"So, how did this break?"
She looked towards me with the same eyes, but this time there was a hint of some emotion there….a bit of frustration.
"Baka Red was not strong. I tried giving power. It broke." If I didn't know who she actually was, I would have hugged her seeing her clutching her dress and biting her lower lip in frustration.
I however blanked out again. I needed more information but 's data was giving me syntax errors every time I tried to process it.
Thankfully Sakuya came at the right time.
A glass of chocolate milk and a plate of cookies were placed in front of us. She even brought a jug of chocolate milk for refills.
Truly the perfect maid.
She then went on to serve the rest of the guests who were….still quiet and watching this….bizarre show.
"Let's start from the beginning while I repair this Game for you." I said and she picked up a cookie and started nibbling again.
How can this girl be so adorable and so terrifying at the same time?
I pulled out the Shun Shun Rikka and the petals of the hair pin flew around the Game, "Soten Kisshun, I reject."
The Game started turning back to normal after a moment.

"Home became more noisy."
I understood that. Good. I picked up my chocolate milk to intake some sugar. Sugar helps us think.
"Baka Red and Baka Tet make too much noise."
*Cough cough*
….I really should have waited until she finished.
"Baka Tet?"
Don't be who I think it is? Please don't be him?
"Hmm. Baka Tet is small with a pink hat and a heart on his right cheek."
Lady Luck….are you on a vacation again?
I did notice everyone's ears perked up at this information but no one spoke yet. Only Jibril, Merlin and Sakuya seemed to be ones who had a look of recognition on their faces.
I didn't look towards Vali because I wasn't sure if I could hold myself back from punching his face into the ground if I saw him getting a battle boner now.
"So how did it come to the Game?" I asked already having an idea about the answer.
"Baka Red and Baka Tet always play games. Baka Tet said if I win, they will leave my home and break Baka Tet's home."
"Break?...Do you perhaps mean….crash at Tet's home."
She took a sip of her chocolate milk and nodded again.
Despite my survival instinct, I couldn't help but be a little annoyed.
"So, you challenged Tet, The God of Games, The One True God, to a Game?"
My annoyance transformed into frustration when I saw Ophis looking slightly smug and nodding back.
Did she want me to praise her?
The Khaos Brigade would have eaten her up piece by piece and she wouldn't even know how.
I massaged my head slightly at the thought.
At this time a voice interrupted us.
Sirzechs perhaps gathered enough courage to finally speak up. "Excuse me Lady Ophis but would you tell us who this Tet is? We haven't heard of such a God yet. Shin-kun if you would also please add something to this."
I looked towards Ophis, who cutely tilted her head and gave the most helpful answer ever, "Baka Tet is….Baka Tet."
I hope you noticed the sarcasm.
I sighed again.
"Tet is a God from a different world." That got a few raised eyebrows but no one interrupted me. "He is one of the strongest Gods that I know of. Like Ophis and Great Red level strong."
"Is he dangerous?" asked Lady Amaterasu.
"Hmm. With his powers people would assume that he is dangerous. If he has to fight then sure he can be dangerous. That said Tet is probably one of the most peaceful Gods that I know of. He is the God of Games that altered the fundamental laws of his entire world so that no wars can be fought there. This even applied to the other Gods of that world. His laws are absolute in his world. That said, all conflicts are now solved through Games. Games which were magically regulated to not cause permanent harm to the players, unless the players themselves decide or agree to it. Sure it has its own problems….but in his own way, Tet did bring peace to the world."
"I assume that the world was not that peaceful before that." Odin asked a little intrigued in learning about that world.
"The whole world fought a War much like the Great War before that. All the races fought against each other. It was a world of total chaos. Countries were wiped out in a single day and magic attacks that could have blown off chunks of a planet were thrown around." Their faces paled, especially the young ones. Sona looked almost white. "Tet, put an end to all of this and brought peace….kind of."
The people took a moment to digest the news and I continued.
"There are sixteen races on Disboard, the name of that world. There is a race called Flügel." I saw Sirzechs, Serafall as well as a few of my girl's eyes light up in recognition. "They are angels created by Artosh, A God of War, a God as strong as The God of the Bible," Michael, Gabriel and the church girls each had wide eyes at this revelation, "and each one of them were made to be Godkillers. Each one of them has the minimum strength of an Ultimate Class Devil." Their eyes widened a bit at each sentence. "They are Ranked….6th in terms of strength in that world. It means that there are still 5 whole races that are stronger than the Flügels in that world….and Tet….stands on the top of all of this. He is so strong that all of them have to follow the laws set by him. Thankfully he doesn't like wars."
The room became silent for a while.
"How do you know about all this Shin-kun?" Serafall asked this time.
"Hmm. Oh, I have met him once before. He challenged me to a Game but I said I was a little busy and we can play a Game later on. He agreed to it and left. I later used my umm….sources to collect all the information I could."
….
Closing her hung jaw, she asked "Left? Just like that?"
"Umu. He doesn't like fighting and is very reasonable."
"Why is he here?" Azazel asked.
"Last I heard, he seemed to enjoy playing around with Great Red. If anyone can keep the Big Red dragon busy, then why would I interfere?"
"On a different note, did you ask Kokabiel to attack this place, Lady Ophis?" Sirzechs asked suddenly.
The room tensed up.
Ophis just tilted her head.
I don't think she had any idea why and what he was talking about.
"Ophis, did you give your power to someone called Kokabiel?"
I asked refilling her chocolate milk's glass.
She picked it up, then thought for a moment, "No."
Before someone could open their mouths and ruin the situation I asked another question, "Did you give someone else your powers?"
She nodded.
"Could they give your power to others?"
She nodded again.
There, the mystery is now solved.
"Why are you making a group of powerful individuals, Ophis? I didn't think you had an interest in the world?" asked Azazel.
The occupants in the room looked towards him.
I remembered that he already knew a bit about Khaos Brigade.
"Need help, reclaim silence."
"I assume you are speaking about the Dimensional Gap." Azazel continued.
She nodded.
"So you want a group of people who will fight Great Red for you and drive him out of the Dimensional Gap?" Azazel asked, sweating a bit more now.
She nodded again.
"Why can't you stay in the Dimensional Gap with Great Red?" I asked. I mean no one really tried to ask her this before. I have the shield of cookies and buffs of chocolate milk, I think I can survive this question.
"Too Noisy."
"Hmm. Noisy roommates. I know they can be irritating." I nodded back.
The people in the room looked towards us as if we were crazy.
Try sleeping against a snoring pig for a roommate and then try that look.
I suddenly had an idea.
"Say Ophis, would you come somewhere with me. I have something to show to you."
She looked at me for a moment….then to her plate of cookies and glass of chocolate milk….then back at me.
"Sakuya, would you please bring Ophis' snacks with us."
"Yes Master."
And just like that she got up and followed me.
I was getting the common kidnapper vibes from myself right now.
But for the sake of World Peace, I bravely put it aside and walked ahead.
The rest of the people followed me to see what was going on.
I walked up to the Room of Requirement v 2.0. It was buffed by Merlin, Morgiana, Jibril and me after the spar between Jibril and Shion.
I would like to test something. I had added a lot to the structure of the room making it much better than the normal Room of Requirement.
"Ophis, would you please imagine needing a home suitable for yourself?"
She nodded.
"Now open the door."
The door was opened by her and bingo. The room was now an empty space with rainbow coloured space inside.
I don't know how much this void is different from the normal void but I didn't take a risk.
Shadows emerged from around me and wrapped around my form. I think the shield from my power suppressing bracelet made from the constantly leaking energy might have been enough but it is better not to take any risks.
"Follow me inside and see if this room is also noisy?" I said Ophis who was still looking blankly at the room. "Oh and protect the food. I don't know how thar would act in void."
She nodded and followed as a purplish-violet aura formed around Sakuya and food.
We entered the room and I looked back to her. "Is the room silent?"
She didn't answer for a second after which she nodded.
"If you want you can stay here. We can even bring in food for you if you want."
She nodded again, "Okay."
"Just stop working with the group that has been using your power. Two of them had attacked this city and could have harmed and killed us…." There was a little reaction but not much, "or even destroyed this room." Now that got a reaction. "You can stay here and we will maintain this room if you stop helping them"
I offered the deal and a moment later, she nodded, "Okay."
….it couldn't be this easy, right?
I didn't want to push it despite my slight doubt so I left the room behind.
I did hear a voice though, "Vali, tell everyone to leave. I have reclaimed silence."
Oh crap.
Vali's screwed.

"Hmm, now what was that about Vali?" Azazel asked suspiciously.
Vali looked down without answering.
I sighed. No need to create more enemies.
"Vali was keeping an eye on his dear gramps and trying to find an opportunity to remove the idiot from the world."
"And how do you know this Shin-kun?" Serafall asked. She was a little miffed about me keeping my secrets.
Well it does look suspicious considering the information I held. However…. I'm not sorry.
"I have a spy of my own." I said and kept walking towards the living room.
"Is it someone you trust?" Sirzechs asked, interrupting anyone else from asking.
I looked towards him and then nodded. "I trust her completely. Rias knows her and trusts her too. She has been helping us for a while now."
That had most of his worries assuaged.
According to him, rightfully so, I might not know how some people are due to me being new to this world but Rias is much more informed.
It is quite understandable.
"Then tell me if you need any help."
Maybe I can try a hand. If he doesn't agree, I just won't call her. I do know that despite all his responsibilities, Sirzechs is a genuinely good guy.
"I have some information about a wanted person from the Underworld. It proves that she is not really a criminal but someone who was thrown under the bus to hide a few things. I know that many such things happen often in politics but…this one is different."
"Who are you talking about Shin?"
"Kuroka."
The atmosphere tensed all of a sudden.
The Shinto Pantheon's representative and Yasaka herself being there had to do something with it perhaps.
"What about Kuroka, Shin?"
"Kuroka was being experimented on to create Super Devils. The Naberius Devil wanted to use Koneko when Kuroka started showing lower results. She heard it and killed them and then ran away. They were working for a Shalba Beelzebub person. I have confirmed the information from the spirit of her King so I know for sure that she was not lying. I wanted to use my favour with Serafall to open the investigation when I had enough evidence considering this case was not so simple."
"It was obviously not simple. Two hundred innocent Nekoshou were killed." Yasaka all but growled.
"Hmm, that was actually Shalba's men and spies. They didn't want to risk any Nekoshou escape in case the research could be successful. Which it was not by the way."
"Can you prove it?" Sirzechs asked again.
"I can call the souls of the dead and make them answer if you want. I wouldn't have let Kuroka anywhere near the place if I didn't know she was innocent. Did you know that she killed off nineteen stronger stray devils around this area without anyone finding out about it? She has been protecting everyone for the last two years and no one even knew. If it hadn't been for my extra measures, even I wouldn't have found out about her being here." She was actually at the border of the barriers.
"Can you call the souls of the deceased after this meeting? I would like to confirm it for myself. That incident has been a big political scandal for the entire devil race." Sirzechs asked and I nodded.
If it helps me clear Kuroka's name then it is better.
"The older devils will not agree to this so easily." Serafall massaged her head causing Yasaka and Amaterasu to glare at her. "I mean technically the King can do whatever they want with their peerage. We had to make many compromises to start this Peerage system back then. We have been working on it to make the conditions of the Reincarnated Devils better but there is only so much we can do without the conservative faction of the government putting their nose where it doesn't belong. The precedent of Kuroka getting away after killing a High class devil will be a slap to their face, no matter what the devil did."
Really, bloody politics.
"Wonder what'll happen if some of the Khaos Brigade thugs find their way into these old devil's houses." I wondered out loud, earning incredulous gazes of the people. "What? Can't a man even dream now?"
"If that is the case then prove Kuroka's innocence. I will take her into the Shinto Faction as my own aide and grant her political immunity. This will prevent the conservatives from interfering and keep their pride intact as well as give you a way to punish the ones responsible." Lady Amaterasu suggested.
"Hmm, that can….actually work. Sure there will be some people who will throw tantrums but it's not like we haven't granted immunity to some wanted individuals from the other pantheons." Serafall thought out.
"In that case, let us go with it." Sirzechs nodded as well. "I take it that Koneko and the others know about it as well."
"Everyone in this house knows about it. We just didn't inform you because your position as a Satan would have made it difficult for you if we didn't have enough proof. This is why we were waiting until now."
"And let me guess, the auction and the limited products where to get favours like this?" Serafall raised her eyebrows.
"You are really smart." I smiled back.
"Obviously I am." We reached the living room and Serafall was back to her bubbly magical girl self. "You hear that So-tan, Onee-chan is really smart."
And just like that the tense atmosphere evaporated.
There were a few more discussions regarding the Treaty and the new complications regarding my position with those factions and Kuroka's new position.
Vali was taken aside by Azazel and he had a long talk about the situation after which he was asked to keep an eye on the Khaos Brigade.
Vali albeit reluctantly agreed and gave us the information about the attack.
"The original plan was to use a barrier to lock down the leaders using Ophis' snakes while the attacking force would take down the others who are stationed outside. An attack like that and the inability of the faction leaders to prevent the lives of their main subordinates from being lost would bring their capabilities in question and will give enough force to the opposition to dissolve this alliance before it can be formed. No one was idiotic enough to try and kill the leaders at once." Vali explained the plan which sounded a great deal more reasonable than the one I knew of.
"Did you get the same information, Shin-kun?" Serafall asked.
Hmm, I didn't get anything.
On that note, why didn't I get the information?
"It is because he hasn't been receiving any calls for the last four hours before the meeting started." Vali spat out, turning their attention to himself. "Kuroka had been trying to send him the information about this plan for a while but he couldn't be contacted." So that's why he was tense. "Also you people cut off all connection from outside when you entered the building, that prevented any more communication." He said looking towards Sirzechs who looked a little sheepish at this.
"I guess that we avoided that now. With Ophis here, their plans are all wasted." Michael spoke for the first time.
"Not really. They still have Ophis' snakes. Those things can provide enough power for the barrier." Vali ruthlessly broke their hope.
"So they are still attacking this place?" Sirzechs asked, worried.
"Not really. They will expect me to report this meeting. After that they will change the plans accordingly. They will, however, launch an attack for sure."
The atmosphere in the room descended once again.
Seriously, this is not what I had planned for.
Like there is never a moment of peace.
Why can't they just take a chill pill and go fuck their wives/girlfriends/lovers and leave the world in peace?
"Hmm, then let them attack tomorrow. We can set up a trap for them and take care of this in one fell swoop. A firm hand will help show the resolve we have to make this alliance work." I spoke out of frustration.
There were various reactions to this.
"Are you sure that being this hard on them is the right thing to do? Wouldn't it just increase the resentment among those angry?" Michael argued.
Odin however seemed unimpressed with Michael's views.
"The so-called angry people were planning to and let me stress this word, 'slaughter' all those who would have stood guard. Literally hundreds of lives would have been lost for them to make their point. They are the same people who provided Kokabiel with Ophis' snakes and tried to cause another Great War. It is them who are making the first move. Moreover if they want to destroy this treaty using PR, then us winning this fight without any kind of damage will only give us a positive image. Bloody politics." I muttered the last part under my breath.
"I agree with this plan." Azazel spoke up after a brief period of silence.
"But Azazel can't we try to compromise and explain the situation. Surely many others will be of the same mind and want to end this feud already."
I was suddenly getting Dumbledore vibes here and it was only because I knew that the man was genuinely sad that I held myself back.
"Lord Michael, I know that you are reluctant to cause any more losses of lives for this but you have to understand that these people are terrorists. They want to cause a war just to satisfy their wounded egos from the last Great War. As for explaining things, I am not saying that we should kill everyone. Just taking care of their leaders will break their morale. We did try the explaining route with Kokabiel…." Everyone winced at that, especially Gabriel, "I wish I had just attacked from the very start. This time around I won't take any risk."
The room was silenced once more before Lady Amaterasu spoke up, "Let us vote regarding this."
"I will abstain from it. I am not a leader and was just stating my views." I backed away. I will let them handle this.
The others agreed and the vote was a one sided agreement for the plan.
Michael looked reluctant but agreed to it as well.
"In that case I will contact Falbium regarding this plan. Shin-kun can you contact Kuroka and ask her to meet with Lady Amaterasu?. It will be better if her situation is clarified soon too." Serafall spoke while thinking about other things.
"Okay, I will do that." I called Kuroka on the communication device that I had given her in her own bracelet. Very soon I heard her voice and she sounded quite panicked.
"Kuroka, come to my house right now. We have something important to discuss." I cut her off before she could do anything.
"b-ut Ophis."
"Ophis is here and resting. Don't worry about it."
"You don't understand it. Ophis just blasted the whole base. People were trying to attack the Peace conference and now they are all dead."
….
….
….
….
"Huh?"
I don't recall Ophis ever doing something like this?
"Do you know what led to this?"
"I watched her playing some game and suddenly she was trying to put one of her snakes in it. The game blew up. I ran away as soon as I felt her power rising. Then there was a blast." She spoke in great hurry and panic. She hadn't used her verbal tic even once and that shows that she was really tense.
"Are all your friends alright?"
"Yes. They were all out of the base when this happened. Ophis was actually in the meeting. I have no idea who survived. I just ran away."
"Okay…."I didn't know what to say actually. "In any case, come to my home as quickly as you can. I have gotten your case an investigation and I need you to be present here. The faster the better, so get here as quickly as you can."
I cut off the call. I will have to explain to Ophis the rules of the house.
You can't just rage in my house if you get a bad gacha draw.
"So….what is the news on that side?" Serafall asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"Hmm….there is good or bad news depending on how you perceive it."
The raised eyebrows prompted me to continue and so I did.
"Apparently Ophis had an episode of gamer rage and the base of Khaos Brigade is now cosmic dust."

….
….
"Huh."
Good, I was not the only one.
"Well Kuroka will be here. Her friends are all safe because they were out for training." I said in Vali's direction. "I have to explain the rules of the house to Ophis. Give me a moment please."
"We can shift the room to a safe place if you want."
"Yes, an isolated location in the underworld will be good enough."
A few more suggestions were thrown around.
"The place is not a problem. The main problem is someone else coming and influencing Ophis. She is like a child. I will talk to her and take some precautions."
"Do you think your precautions will be enough against the Infinity?" Odin asked.
"Ehh….I will manage something. I would only be worried if she tried to come at me with the intent to kill. That is not the case now. So most of my worries are gone."
65 Affection is more than enough for me to be confident.
"Khaos Brigade has more than one base." Vali interrupted.
….Great, just great.
They continued discussing plans while I went back to the Room of Requirement to prevent my house from going Kaboom on me.
As I approached the room, I heard voices that again made me question the sanity of things in this world.
"Umu….this Baka Red does sound like an awful person. It sounds as if he has a whole colony of nargles inside his head."
"What does nargles mean?"
"Nargles are small creatures that enter through the ear of a person and make them confused and do stupid things."
"Hmm. Baka Red has nargles then."
Dear Game, save me.

"Hello Shin."
"Hello Luna, what are you doing here?" I asked, sitting down on the chair beside her.
I did notice that Luna was inside a bubble inside Ophis' void with a chair and a table filled with cookies, chocolate milk and other confectionery.
"I was talking to Ophis. She seemed to be alone." Luna answered dreamily.
Well….that was sort of the whole point of the room. She wanted to be alone.
"Well….as long as Ophis doesn't mind it."
Again Ophis nodded and she ….didn't mind.
"Cakes are good too."
….
The fuck were the Khaos Brigade doing all this time with her?
They had a sugar power walking nuke with the EQ of a four year old. I would have been ruling the world by now.
Then again, ruling the world seems like too much work.
I'd rather others think they rule while having all the power for myself.
Does wonders to reduce the paperwork, better than Shadow Clones even.
"They are, aren't they? These ones were made by Asia. She is learning to cook. Ingvild wanted to learn too but she was busy with her magic studies."
Luna said as she picked up one of the cupcakes to eat.
"Anyways~ Ophis." Seeing that she looked towards me, I continued, "I heard that you blew up the base of Khaos Brigade when you were playing games?"
"Hmm."
"Why?"
She tilted her head.
After a while she answered, "Baka Red was being useless."
Yup that doesn't tell me anything at all?
"So?"
"So I tried to give him power but the Game broke."
Well that much is obvious.
"And then?"
"And then….I felt? I felt what?"
….Oh Dear.
"That is called anger and frustration. It doesn't feel good to feel those things."
"Hmm. Not good."
"So you blasted things around you?"
"Hmm."
"Hmm….okay. It does relieve us sometimes to let those feelings out….but we must also make sure that no one is hurt because of it?"
She tilted her head, "Why?"
I patted her head slowly.
"It is because….well let's say someone you like can be there and get hurt accidentally?"
She looked a little confused so I continued.
"Let's say for example I and Luna gave you these cookies and cakes, Sakuya and Asia made the right?"
She nodded her head.
"If someone hurt us or we were hurt in an accident, then you wouldn't have gotten these."
She stared at her plate and then her glass of chocolate milk and then back at me and nodded.
"How would that make you feel?"
She thought for a moment and answered, "Angry and frustrated?"
"Yes. Also there are a lot more people whom I don't even know who work to make the things needed to make the cake. So you can't just hurt people just like that, okay?"
"Hmm okay."
"That said if someone attacks you with the intent to harm, you can retaliate back. That is self-protection. Not bad, okay."
"Hmm okay."
"Also, if you feel angry and frustrated and want to blast things, you can always go to the Dimensional Gap and blast things. If you blast things here, someone can get hurt or your silence here can be destroyed, okay?"
"Hmm okay."
"Then we have a deal?"
"Hmm Deal."
Really, why are people afraid of her again?...Ah yes the being able to blow someone to smithereens with a stray breath thing.
"Thank you for understanding Ophis. Enjoy your time here. If you need something, tell me and I will help you if I can."
She nodded and then brought out the game.
Really?
Did Tet get Ophis hooked up on games now?
She brought it up to me and said, "Need help. Baka Red is useless."
….what?
It was then I saw what it was and no manner of Occlumency could stop my lips from twitching.
"Oh, is this Baka Red? He looks like a fish." Luna chimed in not helping the twitching either.
Really….I am too young for this shit.
"The man with the egg said it's strong but….Baka Red is useless."
More twitching….she didn't catch it it rather used Poke dollars for it.
Even I would have raged at something like that.
I picked her up and made her sit on my lap and placed the console in her hand. "Then today I will make Baka Red useful. Let me tell you about something called Exp. Share."
If Tet has sent this my way, then I will make sure that Ophis becomes the best Pokemon master there ever was.

Shuri watched as Shin was teaching Ophis….it was still hard to believe this part but The! Infinite Dragon God, Ophis, how to play games while keeping her on his lap and wiping her mouth of the crumbs of the cookies in between.
It seems that the grandchildren she will name will have a good father at least.
Shin was quite patient with children and while Ophis didn't count as a child, her personality and behavior did.
The fact that he got along with Luna was also an example.
She had left the living room where the meeting was going on. She just couldn't stand the atmosphere in the room, especially between Barakiel and Akeno.
She had thought that maybe after having her back in her life and having Shin in her life as well, Akeno would cope up with her hatred of her father….to some extent maybe….but seeing the glare that adorned her face, it was probably a fool's bet. Then again it was actually Barakiel's fault to begin with.
To leave a child alone….their own child alone to wander when there was a group of crazy people out to harm and kill her….for two whole years.
Even she felt disappointed in him. Maybe at some level she could understand Barakiel's point of view….but that didn't mean she agreed with any of it.
She had left her home, her family to be with him and for their child. She had never once regretted it. But he gave up on their child so easily….she just couldn't bring herself to forgive him anymore.
"Shuri."
She heard the voice behind her.

To a certain extent yes. Once you reach the level cap for this race, you will get an Evolution Quest which requires you to satisfy certain conditions, for a higher number of tails. This class' level cap is level 450
So only I can increase the number of tails?

Then why is Kuroka a two tailed Nekoshou?
