I kept thinking about what that young man called me while I did my paperwork in my study after Aelia had left. Why would he call me 'Alpha King'? For all I knew, 'Alpha King' was not a name. It was more of a title or quality of a leader or successful male. Maybe, I was an Alpha because at the age of twenty one, I had completed university and had set up to build a high school. I was a principal of a prestigious school at the age of twenty four. That was quite an achievement.
"Bro, it's time for dinner." Xavier's voice snapped me out of it. It was usually Aelia who came to call me for dinner. I wonder what happened. I came out of the study and followed Xavier to the dining table. "Where is Aelia and Clarissa?" I asked when I didn't find both of the girls at the table. "They went out shopping. Tell me, bro. Just yesterday, you were refusing to let Aelia go to the party and today you suddenly agreed? What did she do to get you to agree cuz if I were in her place, you would have said no and nothing I would do would have made you change your mind?" Xavier spoke as he raised an eyebrow at me. However, all I could think of was why they watched Aelia and Clarissa leave the house at this time of the day.
I suddenly got a call. It was Aelia. I quickly picked up the call. Before I could even start scolding her, she said, "Cyrus, I think we are being followed." Dread filled me as I started to walk towards the door. "Listen to me, do not panick. Who is driving? And where are you?" I queried. She replied, sounding frightened. "Uncle Sam is driving. We're almost at Street 12. It's quite dark but I can see that we are almost at the alleyway." I growled. Aelia was in danger. "I'm on my way." I turned around to face my parents and my younger brother. "You better pray that they're both fine or so help me God, I will burn you all alive. After that almost slap, I'm sure you are aware that I don't bluff."
With that, I stormed out of the house to my car. One thing my family didn't know about me was that I was insane and it was Aelia who protected my sanity. And there was no way that I would lose Aelia. Aelia was my drug and by God, was I addicted to her! That family will know no peace if I ever lose Aelia because of them because I will torment them until I drag them to hell with me. I reached the exact location Aelia had mentioned. Entering the alleyway, I realized that a car, probably the one that was following them, had parked in front of their car. I got out of my car and stormed towards theirs. Before I could reach, Aelia and Clarissa got out but instead of running to me, they both stood there, and I could perceive their fear. Taking a step towards them, I finally picked up the sinister air around us.
I really hated wasting my energy on people I could easily kill. I had zero tolerance for idiots. "Come out!" I growled out. It was all quiet for a while before a strange man walked out of the other car and approached us. I motioned for the two frightened girls to come to me. Immediately, they both sprinted towards me. Once they had gotten to my side, I took them to the car. "No matter what happens, don't come out." I said to them. "Be careful." Aelia spoke with tears in her eyes. I nodded but before I could even say anything, the man jumped over the car and ran towards us. I closed the door and turned towards him.
Some kind of energy coursed through my veins and before I knew it, I had jumped and punched him in the face. He fell down with a whimper. However, I was in for a shock when he turned into a wolf. I was stunned. There were creatures like this in existence? He was a dirty brown wolf and he reeked off rotten onions and eggs. Bro needed a long ass shower. I took just a minute to notice his weak spot. Smirking when I saw his neck, I waited for him to jump. My nails were sharp. If he really did jump according to my calculation, I could grab and dislocate his neck bone.
Just as I had predicted, the ass wipe jumped and I turned on my side just in time for my hand to get hold of his neck. My sharp nails found his neck bone and I wasted no time in breaking it. I let go of his lifeless body and it fell down with a thud. It got all quiet for a while and I went back to normal. I walked to my car and as I approached, Clarissa suddenly screamed while Aelia shouted, "Cyrus, behind you!" I turned around only to find another wolf in the air, about to attack me. Out of nowhere, a man jumped, turning into a wolf mid air and pushed the other wolf to the ground. I watched in awe as the two wolves wrestled on the ground until my savior bit hard into my attacker's neck, killing it in an instant.
My savior turned around and stared at me for a while before he morphed back into a human being. Staring at him, I recognized him. He was the man that called me 'Alpha King' and tried to touch me while I was returning home. As if what he did wasn't enough, he walked to me, got on a knee and placed his fist on his chest while bowing to me. "Alpha King, I am your Beta King, Xerxes Woods." I turned around to find the girls staring at us in shock. I was hungry and this man was just annoying me.
Suddenly, he began sniffing the air and his eyes turned yellow like mine usually did when I was excited. "Mate. Mine." He growled, excited as he got up and ran towards the car. To my surprise, he grabbed Clarissa and sniffed her neck. Terrified Clarissa looked like she would collapse at any moment so as a good elder brother, I decided to jump in. I easily pulled them apart and held the man down. "Fucking calm your beast, wolf boy or I will make you." I growled out when I realized that he was not ready to back down.
"Alpha, she's my mate!" He looked pained as he spoke. "And she is my sister, you bastard. Calm the fuck down." I ordered. Whimpering, he barred his neck towards me, completely submitting to me. Once I was sure that he had calmed down, I got up and let him sit in the passenger seat. After the girls were seated, I went back to their car to get their stuff before getting in my car and driving off.
"This reminds me. Where is Uncle Sam?" I asked. Aelia replied, "I lied, Cyrus. I was the one driving." Looking at her in the mirror, I decided to deal with her later. Right now, all I wanted to do was get home, have dinner and have a chat with the wolf boy beside me.
