Chapter 5 - Not so Secret Surveillance

The humid summer air clung to the walls of Jujutsu High. Most students were enjoying their rare moment of peace after the last mission. That included Lena, who sat under the shade of a wisteria tree in the back courtyard — barefoot in the grass, book open in her lap.

Megumi joined her, like he often did now.

They rarely spoke much, but their silences were… comfortable. Calming.

"You always read poetry," Megumi said.

"You always pretend not to like it," Lena replied softly, not looking up.

Her glasses had slid slightly down her nose. She pushed them back up, a wry smile on her lips. Megumi noticed that her smile was different when she was around him. Less polite. More… honest.

Meanwhile: In the Tallest Tree Nearby

Satoru Gojo was hanging upside down, limbs crossed, watching them with his Infinity gently humming. His blindfold was pushed up like a headband, one pale blue eye twitching.

"What. Is. This."

Shoko joined him halfway through, sipping iced coffee.

"Satoru, they're teenagers."

"Nope. No. Not Megumi. Not with my little sister. Do you know how many curses she can shatter with a glance?"

"And you trust her on missions but not on a date?"

"It's not a date," he snapped, "It's an emotional ambush and he's the ambusher."
