Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 She needs to be saved

"What am I supposed to do about it", a 5 '4 teen was speaking to an older woman. "Well I'm sorry that I thought it would be nice for you to help someone out for once in your life" The woman said, clearly agitated.

"But mooooommm, I hardly even know her," the teen said, in a whiny voice. "Don't 'But mooommm Mikey." she mimicked in the same tone. "There's no reason you should just her be taken like that?"

Mikey turns towards her, confusion evident. "Let me see, let me just unkidnap her, you're acting like I'm the one who did it." Mikey said, giving a dismissal wave. "Well listen here, either you do find a way to get her back, or or i'm sending you to live with your grandparents", Mikey turned towards her, betrayal evident in his eyes.

"How am I supposed to even do that?" Mikey said, pleading to his mother. "Go FIGURE IT OUT" Mikey's mother said, before tossing him out of the house onto the street.

Landing on the ground, Mikey looked up, only to see his mother huff before slamming the door. Mikey stood up, dusting himself off, 'how am i supposed to save the princess, it's not even like this is something new'.

The thing is, when you live in a kingdom, especially one with a princess, things happen, especially kidnapping. Now while most kingdoms would have a royal knight, a prince, a vanguard, or something like that, save said princess, this one does not.

Not because they can't afford one, or they are a poor kingdom, but princesses fall into 3 very distinct roles. A very pretty and noble princess, who is essentially an idol, a very kind and humble princess, who would come and help townsfolk, and the cold and domineering princess, the kind that would kick a beggar if they even thought looked at her.

Even still, there are still guards who go to save said princess, be it for loyalty, or from fear of consequences. The one problem with our princess though., 'I don't even know what she looks like" Mikey kicked the ground, knocking dust into the air.

"Where am I even supposed to start?" Mikey grumbled. The amount of things that could've kidnapped the princess are literally innumerable. Dragons, other kingdoms, witches/wizards, monsters, an evil devil coalition, some random guy with two pistols with a grudge against the king.

"Aha, that's it!" Mikey's hand pointed upwards. 'The king is obviously the best place to start, but how do I get there?'

"And so you wish to rescue my daughter, because your mother is threatening you with your grandparents' house?" the king, sitting on a large red throne asked. Mikey swallowed a gulp as he responded. "Well uh, yea that's basically it" The king sighed as he looked towards his side, an empty chair next to him.

"Honestly, though your reasons are," the king sighed to himself, taking a deep breath "not as noble as most". The king looked Mikey up and down before finishing. "No one else has offered to save her, so you have my permission." Mikey coughed in his hand before looking at the king strangely.

"Don't you have like royal guards to save her? Or like some kind of guy obsessed with her? Or like a knight in training who wants to prove his worth?" Mikey said, scratching his head.

The king looked at Mikey with a regretful look in his eye. "To be truthful, yes of course I do, the only problem is, the princess is a little odd." Mikey looked at the king confused. "Well for one, the reason she doesn't come out is because she's always sleeping." Mikey clicked his hands together.

"Oohhh, so it's like a sleeping beauty trapped in her sleep." The king shook his head. "No not that, she's just." the king took a deep breath before stating, "boring" Mikey looked with confusion. "What do you mean boring, like she enjoys painting? Or like she just likes sleeping or" the king cut him off before he could continue.

"No i mean, just plain boring, no personality, she isn't super nice, or super mean, doesn't have lofty goals, isn't into reading, doesn't study magic, nothing. She just sits in her room and just lays there all day." Mikey nodded his head confused at the situation.

"But what does that have to do with none of the guards or anything trying to save her" the king collapsed his thigh before answering. "Well what do you think kings offer to people to save their daughters?" Mikey slowly answered "money?" the king palmed his head before answering. "No, they offer their daughters a hand in marriage, the only problem is. You may be able to guess." A look of realization appeared on Mikey's face. "No one wants to marry someone so boring?" the king nodded his head, "exactly"

"But you, my boy, are actually perfect now that I think about it. I don't need to offer my daughter's hand, as you have other reasons to save her." The king smiled, "but then again id hate to leave you empty handed as you save my daughter so how about this, if you save her, you may take her hand in marriage, and become the next king." the king said while nodding, believing to have given the deal of a lifetime.

"I thought you said no one wanted to marry her?" the king glared at mikey, causing sweat to start to drip from his forehead. "I'm sorry my lord, having your daughter's hand in marriage would be the best thing I could ever ask for," Mikey said, bowing down.

"Perfect, oh joyous day" the king said, smiling while clasping his hands together, "One thing, do you know what took her" Mikey asked, his head lifting off of the royal carpet. The king held his chin for a moment, pondering, "uh, no that's not right, hm, maybe ay um, no couldn't be, it might've been a uh, nah it wouldn't, hm" the king continued to mumble to himself before finally speaking, "I honestly have no idea, I wouldn't even kidnap her if was an enemy kingdom"

A dead pan expression appeared on Mikey's face, "so you don't even have the slightest clue?" the king smiled and shook his head, "None at all, but that's your job to figure out isn't" The king got up and bounded away towards his quarters. From behind him Mikey called out, "can I at least have access to her room to check" the king didn't even look back as he responded, "as long as you find her you can use any means." The slam of a door accompanied the final sentence, leaving Mikey alone in the throne room.

"I guess I can look on the bright side, it's probably not another kingdom", Mikey mumbled to himself, heading towards the princesses room before pausing.

"I DON'T KNOW WHERE HER ROOM IS" Mikey shouted, falling to his knees.
