Alright, a week in the city is enough for now. I took missions a few times already. Still a D-rank adventurer but that's okay.
Now is time to gather other items I need to have. And after remembering about the game as much as possible during these past few days, I know what to get. Extra Pocket.
It says Extra Pocket in the game but now this is a real life, I don't think calling it that is enough.
In the game, the protagonist has his own inventory where he can store things. Only up to fifty items but that's more than enough by the time I became a veteran of the game. Though I the early days, I have to increase the size of the inventory.
To do that, I needed to get the item called Extra Pocket from a dungeon. It increases the size of the protagonist's inventory and makes him able to store another extra 50 items.
But in real life, there's no inventory. I don't know what will happen with the Extra Pocket if I get it but if it's some kind of spatial storage then I want to have it.
I have a lot of money now. Most of them are in the hidden treasury under the hollow tree. But if I have some kind of spatial storage, I can bring them anywhere.
I can just save the money on a bank. Bank exists in this world and it's functioning similar to the banks on my previous world. I can deposit some money and then I can withdraw them even in another location. How is it possible? I guess it's magic. Or a mix between magic and science.
In this world, there are trains and aircrafts for travels. But for land travel to areas without railways, you can only use horses. They haven't made cars or bikes yet.
Vassel Kingdom where I grew up in is prosperous. But it's not a rich country where it can get trains and install railways. At least not yet. That's why I haven't seen them here.
Though there are places for airships to land in the capital of Vassel. But I have never seen an airship leaving or entering the landing area. Maybe the King never uses it. Or they came only when I was sleeping. What a coincidence if that's the truth.
Anyway, about my money. Other than most that are still in the hidden treasury, I already deposited some of them to the bank. As for the rest, I used some of them to buy some supply for my next journey.
Leaving the inn, I go outside the gate and once I don't see anyone around, I use slip magic on myself to slide away to my destination.
Now I can stand while traveling. But sometimes when the ground is so uneven, it's hard to balance myself and I often fall. But that's okay. It's just another training to get used to traveling this way while standing.
I can now use slip magic and make myself extremely slippery. What it means is that I'm very fast. Faster than anything I have ever ridden before including from my past life.
It's hard to be detected by other people if I go so fast. That's why I cover my head with a helmet to make it even harder. Also, safety first. Though it's just until I can perfectly use slip magic without the need of a helmet for safety reason.
It's not a real helmet like the one for motorcycle. It's just an iron helmet to protect your head. But to make myself less suspicious, I wore the entire armor. Even if you're not a knight there are adventurers wearing full armor so no one would recognize who I am.
Why do I need to hide myself? It's annoying if someone found out that I use slip magic to travel. I want to keep the specialty of slip magic exclusive to me for now.
And yes, I'm still smoking even with the helmet on.
Finally I'm there. The Canyon. At least that's the name of this place in the game. Maybe if I ask any nearby villagers they will tell me what the name of this place really is but I don't see any village nearby and it's a waste of time anyway.
There are two items I want to get here. One of them is obviously the Extra Pocket. The other is a weapon. It's called Magic Wind Slingshot.
I'm a bit pissed because why would there be a slingshot as a weapon. But there are people with slingshot talent and this is also good because whenever you pull the slingshot, even without any pellet or bullet, you will be able to use the wind to shoot a projectile at your target. So it's basically an item that helps you to use wind magic without learning the magic.
And yes, it's useful. I lack a way to attack a target from distance. And if I have this slingshot it pretty much means that I have a weapon with infinite ammo. It's just a slingshot though so the killing power is not big. But it's better than nothing.
The slingshot is closer so I'll get it first before the Extra Pocket. I remember the path.
There are monsters on the way. But with slip magic, they can't even stand. I killed them when they're on the ground, collect some loot from them, and then move forward.
The slingshot is not hard to get. A goblin has it and I just need to kill it and get the slingshot. The goblin should be nearby.
I have killed several goblins already but none of them have the slingshot. This is the difficult part.
I don't know how the goblin has the slingshot. But what matters is that I'm going to get it.
It took me hours until I finally found the goblin. Or more like the goblin found me.
The goblin shot a wind bullet from behind me but it missed me. I felt it so I turn around and quickly activate slip magic to make the goblin falls.
Then using slip magic to approach the goblin on the ground, I stab it on its chest. Killing it right away.
"Nice. The slingshot is easy to use. The rest is just more training to increase my accuracy."
I don't even need to use mana. Just grab the slingshot on one hand and pull back the rubber-like material where a pellet should be. It's empty but I still pull it back. Then aim and shoot.
Even without using mana, the Wind Bullet hits the rock I targeted. It lacks strength but it's better than nothing at all. I doubt this will be able to kill a demon or maybe a human. But it's enough as a distraction.
Maybe if someone with slingshot talent has this slingshot they will be unstoppable. Doesn't that make it dangerous? I'll keep it to myself then. That's the plan anyway.
"Now, it's time to get the Extra Pocket."
It will take a while to get to the destination even with slip magic because of the path. This is a canyon after all. But I have an idea.
If I build a ramp, I can easily jump over the Canyon. Easy.
Then learning earth magic will be useful for me. But since I still can't use any other magic, I need to build a ramp manually.
I build a mound using the soil and add some woods to make its shape. It's ready and it's targeted toward the location of the dungeon.
And I fly. But I forgot one thing.
"I FORGOT TO THINK OF HOW TO LAND!"
What to do!? Just fall?
I can't fly. I can't use magic other than slip magic.
Then there's only one thing to do. To use slip magic while hoping that I won't hit a wall when I fall. Then instead of hitting the ground, I will land carefully like a plane. And the impact shouldn't kill me since the force will just help me move forward instead of crashing to the ground. Well, I hope that's the case.
"Come on, slip magic talent! If it works then I won't complain about getting this talent ever again!"
The ground is getting closer. Thankfully it's not a wall.
Now I can only hope. And finally, my hands touch the ground first. Just because I'm touching it, my hands slipped.
After my hands, then it's my whole body. The crash… didn't happen. I just continue sliding forward without taking much damage. In fact, I receive zero damage from the fall.
"HAHAHA! Slip magic is the best!"
My slide slowed down and I stand up from the ground excitedly knowing that it worked. I'm so excited I punch the air and shout loudly.
"YEAH! I like it so much. I will be the best slippery mage in the world!"
Maybe I already am. Because no one believes that slip magic can be this good.
Once the excitement is over, I turn my head and look at the direction of a door under on the wall of the canyon. That's the dungeon. I was flown right to the entrance of the dungeon.
I take a deep breath to calm myself. And now I'm ready for my first dungeon exploration.
