He was sent to the Fortress of Solitude, under Superman's supervision. Deep in the frozen chambers, a hidden console recognized Kael's DNA and opened a door not even Clark had seen before.
Inside: a hybrid chamber—filled with unreadable data, diagrams of alien physiology, and a single pod with the word "Project Genesis-0" etched into the glass.
"Was this… me?" Kael asked.
Superman looked troubled. "I don't know. But if it was… you're not from this Earth. Maybe not this universe."
Kael stared at his reflection in the pod's glass.
"…Then why do I feel like this is home?"
