"…I see," Kagaya murmured, his voice full of gentle sorrow. "Another light extinguished… yet it did not flicker. It roared until its final breath."

Tanjiro sat alone on the roof that night.
He remembered Rengoku's final moments. His burning resolve. His final words.
The ember that was passed to him.
Tears spilled silently.
"Thank you, Rengoku-san," he whispered to the stars. "I'll keep moving forward. I'll make your flame reach the dawn."
A wind passed.
Not cold.
But warm.
As if the flame had not vanished… but lived on in those who would carry it forward.
