Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Almost Losing His Reputation

Peter hurriedly pulled a magic bean from the cabinet and dashed toward Kakuzu's "lifeless" body.

Kakuzu, who was lying perfectly still, suddenly saw Peter turn around so quickly that he was terrified. He quickly shut his eyes, barely daring to breathe. After all, if Peter discovered he was only pretending to be dead, the kind of torture he'd unleash on him would be unimaginable.

Peter crouched down beside Kakuzu and waved his hand just in front of Kakuzu's nose. "Damn it... No breathing? Seriously dead?"

Peter's voice was a mix of frustration and disbelief. At this point, he realized feeding Kakuzu a Senzu Bean was probably pointless. But it wasn't because he wanted to save the bean or thought Kakuzu was truly dead—Peter was definitely not that kind of person! Well... at least, definitely not that kind of person!

Just then, a cold, robotic voice suddenly echoed inside Peter's mind: "Host, how could you do this?" The system had spoken, startling him.

Peter blinked in surprise. He hadn't expected to be caught doing something so "shady" in secret.

"How could I just stand there and watch someone die? Am I that kind of person?" Peter laughed nervously.

He then violently pried open Kakuzu's mouth and shoved the Senzu Beans in without waiting for a response.

Kakuzu felt as if his mouth was about to be torn apart by Peter's hands. He was terrified.

Damn, I didn't know this guy had a thing for whipping corpses... Is he some kind of pervert? Kakuzu's mind screamed in panic.

Even though his mouth hurt from the violent intrusion, Kakuzu didn't dare to complain. If Peter found out, he'd be in real trouble.

Suddenly, Kakuzu felt something stuffed into his mouth.

"What the hell is he feeding me?" Kakuzu thought, his heart pounding in fear.

Peter struggled to get the Senzu Beans down Kakuzu's throat but found they were stuck.

Frustrated, Peter grabbed Kakuzu's head and chin, shaking it back and forth. "Swallow it, damn it! Come on, swallow!"

Kakuzu was on the verge of tears. His tongue felt like it was about to be bitten off by his own teeth.

Why is this guy such a pervert?

Kakuzu instantly regretted coming here. Anyone who could open a shop in such a remote, weird place wasn't ordinary. And now, he was completely at Peter's mercy.

Finally, after a few agonizing moments, Kakuzu managed to swallow the beans.

Peter wiped the nonexistent sweat from his forehead. "Finally, he ate it."

He then casually tossed Kakuzu's body aside.

The back of Kakuzu's head hit the ground hard. Though it hurt, Kakuzu felt a sliver of relief. At least Peter was done playing with his "corpse" and might let him go.

But just then, Kakuzu noticed something even more terrifying than Peter's perversion—the wound Peter had caused on his mouth had already healed.

The sudden healing didn't bring comfort. Instead, it filled Kakuzu with fear.

This guy really is a pervert!

He played with my "corpse," then healed it... Is he planning to keep torturing my "corpse" day and night to hide me?

Kakuzu's whole body trembled.

Peter, however, was completely oblivious to Kakuzu's inner turmoil.

He was busy thinking about how he had just lost half a million dollars in vain!

If he had known earlier, he never would have wasted a Senzu Bean on Kakuzu...

Then Peter suddenly remembered one important fact: although Kakuzu was "dead," his money was definitely still there!

Kakuzu was a greedy man, after all. There had to be plenty of cash hidden somewhere. Peter thought that even if he lost one precious Senzu Bean, getting his hands on Kakuzu's wealth would be a fortune beyond measure.

Kakuzu's assets definitely dwarfed those of Orochimaru. Peter was practically salivating at the prospect of a big payday.

His breathing grew rapid as he squatted in front of Kakuzu, starting to carefully examine the "corpse," determined not to miss a single hidden treasure.

Kakuzu flinched as Peter's hand brushed against his thigh. He tensed his body instinctively.

Peter frowned in confusion. "Why is the corpse so stiff already? Whatever. Let's keep going."

Kakuzu was on the verge of tears, silently screaming: Not everything needs to be tried!

Peter checked the front of Kakuzu's body thoroughly but found nothing unusual. His eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Could it be at the back? Peter thought, flipping Kakuzu over.

Kakuzu buried his face in the ground, his eyes shut tight and teeth clenched with tension.

Damn it... is this part coming too? I hope he'll be gentle...

Peter placed his hand on Kakuzu's waist.

Suddenly, he thought he felt a slight twitch.

He carefully observed and reassured himself, "It must be my imagination. It's my first time doing this, so I'm bound to be a little nervous."

Tears streamed from the corners of Kakuzu's eyes as he screamed internally, Not everything needs to be tried!

Suddenly, Peter's eyes lit up as he spotted a bulge under Kakuzu's clothes.

"Found it!" Peter exclaimed excitedly.

He quickly pulled Kakuzu's clothing off and revealed a storage scroll pinned to Kakuzu's lower back.

Kakuzu, terrified, was too focused on not opening his eyes to notice his storage scroll being taken.

Peter immediately stopped moving. Kakuzu was confused but dared not open his eyes.

Why did he stop at the critical moment? Kakuzu wondered.

He soon realized something and felt relief flood through him.

Turns out this kid isn't good at that stuff! No wonder he messed around with the corpse like that...

Kakuzu breathed a sigh of relief. At least his "chrysanthemum" was safe.

After all, he was over seventy years old. If he lost control of his own "gate" at this age, it would be a fate worse than death.

Peter, on the other hand, was already diving into the treasure hunt.

"Tens, hundreds, millions, tens of millions... Damn, so much money!" Peter gasped, counting the piles of banknotes.

Hearing the commotion, Kakuzu reflexively reached for his waist, only to find it empty.

This is all the wealth I've amassed by taking heads over the years...

My hard-earned money... stolen at my age?

In Kakuzu's worldview, insults could be tolerated, but theft was unforgivable.

He immediately disregarded the huge difference in power between him and Peter and shouted angrily, "Give me back my money!"

Peter, sitting happily on a pile of cash with thick stacks in his hands, was startled by Kakuzu's roar.

He turned around and saw Kakuzu glaring at him.

Peter blinked, a bit embarrassed. Wasn't this guy supposed to be dead? How come he's alive again?

He considered simply punching Kakuzu away but quickly shook his head.

Peter was a model young man of the 21st century. Bullying the weak? Not his style.

Still, Peter was confident Kakuzu would hand over the money obediently.

Peter's Treasure and Trouble

Peter looked over the money once more, heart pounding with excitement.

The stacks of cash, old coins, and various valuables must have been accumulated over decades of Kakuzu's merciless career.

It was a fortune beyond Peter's wildest dreams.

He started carefully bundling the notes, whispering to himself, "With this, I can finally fix my equipment, pay off my debts, and maybe even buy a new magic artifact or two."

Meanwhile, Kakuzu's anger simmered below the surface. He clenched his fists, trying to keep calm.

"You think you can just take my money and walk away?" Kakuzu spat.

Peter shrugged, feigning innocence. "Well, you were practically dead, so I figured you wouldn't mind."

Kakuzu's eyes narrowed, cold as ice.

"Don't test my patience. Hand it back, or I'll make you regret this."

Peter laughed softly. "Sure, sure. But honestly, you looked pretty dead to me. You almost lost your reputation."

Kakuzu gritted his teeth. "You don't know who you're messing with!"

Peter smirked. "Maybe. But you do know who's holding your money now."

Kakuzu's scowl deepened, but his body betrayed no sign of action.

He realized any rash move would only make things worse.

For now, he had to play along.

Peter stood up, dusted off his hands, and began to walk away with the money.

Kakuzu remained where he was, plotting his next move.

Aftermath

Peter glanced back once.

"Don't worry. I'm a reasonable guy. If you behave, maybe I'll let you keep your life and a little of your money."

Kakuzu clenched his fists in frustration.

This was far from over.

But at least, for now, he had to survive.

And that meant playing dead—even if it meant enduring Peter's strange perversions.
