Chapter 1 - Reborn

Annabelle was reborn.

She was reborn ten years prior, in the year she was twenty-two.

When she died, her husband, whom the world praised as a good man, Ethan Grant, plunged a dagger into her heart. He said, "Annabelle, I never loved you, and I even hate your body. Do you know? Daisy is a hundred times more beautiful in bed than you are. You're like a corpse, cold and stiff..."

Cold and stiff?!

Annabelle didn't cry or make a fuss. Her excellent upbringing from childhood only allowed her to desperately endure the heartbreaking pain.

"Didn't you love me so much? Then let your death complete me and Daisy. I'll be grateful to you!"

A sinister voice accompanied the sharp dagger as it was pulled from the center of her heart.

Fresh blood instantly spattered on his gentle, handsome face, highlighting his ruthlessness with exquisite detail. The corner of his mouth lifted into a light, airy smile... It was as if he wasn't facing the wife who had silently sacrificed ten years for him.

Annabelle kept her eyes wide open until her last breath, vowing to engrave all of this man's cruelty deep into her bones!

They had been married for ten years.

They were childhood sweethearts, a perfectly matched couple.

From a young age, Annabelle excelled in the four arts, intelligent beyond compare. After marrying Ethan Grant at 22, she reined in all her brilliance, diligently performing her duties as a wife, abandoning everything for herself, and doing her utmost to help him rise, assisting him from a wealthy family to the path of a distinguished lineage.

She never expected that one day Ethan Grant would personally kill her and use the annihilation of the Anderson family as a betrothal gift for his beloved!

She hated.

Hated him to the bone.

Fortunately, heaven had eyes!

This unexpected car accident brought her back to the year before she was married.

Annabelle bit her lip tightly.

She stared at the man whose car had collided with hers, Jasper Hayes, the head of one of the four prominent families in Northwood, the third young master of the Hayes family!

A face so stunning it captivated everyone, 188 cm tall, with a perfectly sculpted physique, the most handsome man in Greenwood City, bar none.

Such an outstanding man was also a notorious wastrel in Greenwood City. Indulgent to the point of losing his mind, notoriously dissolute, he had been with more women than men he'd seen. His extravagant and wasteful lifestyle was beyond words, yet in her previous life, no matter how Ethan Grant struggled, he couldn't defeat this man!

"Is Lady Anderson interested in me?" Jasper Hayes's deep eyes lightly swept over her, being stared at in such a way.

His melodious, magnetic voice carried a unique charm. It was clearly a teasing remark, yet it sounded inexplicably pleasant coming from his mouth.

"Yes." She snapped back to reality and suddenly admitted it in one breath.

As her words fell, the one who was agitated wasn't Jasper Hayes, but her best friend, Sarah Chen. She roared as if her whole body was about to explode, "Annabelle, did you get hit in the head, girl?!"

A flicker of emotion, difficult to detect, appeared in Jasper Hayes's eyes, but outwardly he merely smiled indifferently.

"Do you know who this fiend is? Do you know how much of a scumbag this guy is?" Sarah Chen turned to Annabelle. "He does nothing but look good and play with women. And you say you're interested in him! Are you suddenly blind, girl?!"

She was indeed blind to have loved Ethan Grant, that insidious and hypocritical hypocrite!

Early that morning, they had gone to church to pray. On their way down, a red sports car speeding in the opposite direction crashed into them. Fortunately, the driver of the sports car was quick-witted, making a swift turn to avoid a head-on collision, but they still collided forcefully.

Both cars sustained minor damage, and no one was hurt.

And because of this, she was reborn!

Annabelle didn't answer Sarah Chen. She simply looked at Jasper Hayes and asked him, "Do you dare to steal the bride?"

"Annabelle!" Sarah Chen was completely flustered again. Even if Jasper Hayes was handsome, would Annabelle not even marry for a scumbag?!

"My wedding is on the 18th of next month. Do you dare to come?" Annabelle enunciated each word clearly.

Jasper Hayes took a few seconds to process Annabelle's words.

Slowly, he said indifferently, "Lady Anderson, you really should go to the hospital for a brain scan."

With that, he casually pulled out a bank card from his black trousers. His slender fingers held it, and with an arrogant, rebellious look, he offered it to her. "I'll pay."

Annabelle glanced at the Super VIP black card.

Everyone knew that the third young master of the Hayes family was extravagant with money, and the women he'd been with were all showered with gifts.

Annabelle accepted it.

A hint of surprise still flashed in Jasper Hayes's eyes.

The whole of Greenwood City knew that Annabelle was virtuous and gentle, knowledgeable and polite, reserved and aloof. She never had any involvement with playboys like them, fully intending to marry Ethan Grant and become his virtuous wife and good mother.

Annabelle said, "Consider it the betrothal gift."

Beside her, Sarah Chen nearly rolled her eyes.

Jasper Hayes pressed his perfect lips together, revealing a meaningful smile. At that moment, he chose only silence, his mood unreadable.

So, it was unclear whether he accepted or was merely... observing.

"If you come on the wedding day, I'll go with you," Annabelle said.

She was actually answering what he had once said.

In her previous life, on the night before she and Ethan Grant were married, she was so excited she couldn't sleep.

At 4 AM, she received an unfamiliar call.

"I'll come to steal the bride tomorrow. Will you come with me?" The voice on the other end asked bluntly.

Annabelle frowned. "Who are you?"

"Ethan Grant isn't good," he said.

"Who exactly are you?"

"I'm not good either."

Then, the call ended.

Annabelle thought it was someone playing a prank, and his tone clearly suggested he was drunk, so she didn't take it to heart. But later, she inadvertently learned that the number belonged to Jasper Hayes. Even after knowing, she still didn't pay it any mind. She had always disdained men like him, especially since she and Jasper Hayes had never had any prior encounters.

It wasn't until her rebirth that she suddenly realized the hidden meaning in Jasper Hayes's words.

However, Jasper Hayes hadn't shown up at her wedding with Ethan Grant that year.

So, she wasn't sure if what he said back then was true.

Anyway.

Regardless of whether Jasper Hayes came or not, in this life, she absolutely wouldn't marry Ethan Grant again!

Coming back was simply to make her revenge more thorough!

She turned and left directly.

Sarah Chen hurriedly followed Annabelle's footsteps, returning to their car.

Jasper Hayes watched the car drive past him.

After a long time, the corner of his mouth suddenly curved into a smile.

All the men in Greenwood City wanted to marry the eldest daughter of the Anderson family. How truly... interesting!

Inside the departing car, Sarah Chen couldn't hold back. "Were you not clear-headed just now, which is why you told that scumbag Jasper Hayes to steal the bride?!"

"No, I'm very clear-headed." Annabelle drove, her face calm.

She even seemed a bit cold-blooded.

After all, just a second before the car accident, she was still enduring Ethan Grant's cruel torment.

"Then... what about Ethan Grant? You two are the most exemplary 'couple' in the country, the envy of so many outsiders. Now you actually want to, pre-marital promiscuity?! What did you do to him?" Sarah Chen couldn't imagine it at all.

What's pre-marital promiscuity?

Annabelle sneered.

She had watched with her own eyes as Ethan Grant and another woman were naked and entwined on a bed right in front of her.

She gritted her teeth and said, "I consider Ethan Grant a beast!"
