Chapter 7 - The Competition

"But as you can see, we can produce some things with this ability, though limited to inanimate objects without souls, because we are ultimately limited in our capabilities. There is much to say on this subject that would require many details which would waste our time. Now, don't speak such nonsense again until you see someone create a fly before your eyes. Only then can you make such a request of me, and I won't be able to argue but will simply tell you to try to create a fly yourself."

Noor understood his perspective. The formation of even the smallest creatures like a fly is precise and perfected beyond anyone's capability. No matter how scientists might try to create a fly in their laboratories, they don't even know where to begin. If they could create the simplest forms of life, this would enable them to create and allow anyone with the knowledge and available resources to create anything. But this has not happened and will not happen. Creating a fly is impossible for us, so what about creating a human! With all the precise details carefully placed, where every system and cell in the human body serves the others and helps complete its formation so it can live. We can only create emotionless machine that will try to mimic humans behaviors.

After a long silence of contemplation, Noor broke the silence in the room, saying:

"I understand your perspective now. I didn't think deeply about the idea but just said it, assuming I could do it using this amazing ability that I initially thought was unlimited. I apologize for this. Now, tell me what's next?"

The voice said in a calm tone indicating acceptance:

"Your apology is accepted. Now, make me a glass panel."

Noor began exploring his imagination to create the panel, but it became more difficult than before. He failed several times and sought help from the mysterious voice for information about the internal composition of glass, until he finally succeeded with great difficulty.

The mysterious voice mocked him:

"And you were telling me to give you something more difficult."

Noor couldn't find anything to say, so he remained silent for a few seconds, then said:

"What's next?"

After a month of practicing creating things with his imagination, the mysterious man decided that the time had come for Noor to advance in the test, so he said, assuming the role of a teacher:

"You have progressed greatly during this month and have been able to create many things, mastering their creation easily and in record time. You've also read all the books I gave you, and your mind now has the ability to create some things quickly without closing your eyes or thinking, which comes with practice and continuous training. Now your test in this room is over. Go to the next room."

Noor got up from the bed he had created, yawning, and looked at what he had made throughout the month. He felt proud of himself. He had created a small house inside the spacious white marble room, made of wood in the style of old wooden houses that still exist in villages. He had placed some furniture in it: a couch, a chair, a simple and primitive bathroom, and a wardrobe containing clothes of different colors. He had also created many artistic artifacts and decorations, Oriental carpets, and some papers and pens to write down his ideas and information needed to create something.

He took his notes and the tools he had created, and everything he needed, then headed toward the exit door, crossing the small house which was no more than hundred meters in size, until he reached the door. He opened it and went out into the marble room, after wearing newly-made primitive clothes that served their purpose.

Noor wore blue woolen pants, a black woolen outfit, and primitive wooden shoes like those worn by many Japanese people on certain occasions.

He approached the wall of the room and closed his eyes, saying:

"I hope the next room won't be worse than this one and take as much time from me as this room did."

A soft, cunning laugh escaped from the voice, but Noor could hear it. He furrowed his brows, certain that what was coming would be worse.

Noor imagined the door before him with all its precise details. It appeared in front of him, then he opened his eyes, grasped the doorknob, and opened it. A barrage of lights emerged from the door, blinding him for a few seconds. He entered, placing his hand over his eyes to shield them from the light. After a few seconds, the intensity of the light subsided and began to fade. He opened his eyes to find himself in another white room. He sighed with despair, boredom, and aversion, saying:

"Really? What's the difference between this and the previous room?"

The voice said to calm Noor:

"Don't worry, the upcoming tests will be easier. You've been through the worst. All that remains is to test what you've learned well and refine it, which may take some time, but it won't be difficult. Are you ready?"

Noor responded sarcastically:

"Do I have another choice? Let's begin."

The voice told him with an enthusiastic tone:

"That's what we want. Now let's begin. The first test will be about your speed in imagination and aiming."

Suddenly, three stationary targets appeared before Noor, resembling the targets that anyone who wants to carry a weapon and learn to aim with it practices on. Noor shrugged his shoulders in disapproval, saying:

"What do you want me to do with these targets?"

"As you see, Mr. Noor, you will aim at them, trying to hit them."

"But I don't have a weapon. How do you want me to do this?"

"Make one then, and don't make me feel like you're the stupidest person I've ever seen in my life."

Noor felt irritated but remained silent for a few moments. He thought about a weapon he could create with his imagination—rifles, pistols, machine guns, and rocket launchers. He immediately dismissed these ideas from his mind; there was no way for him to create such weapons at all. Then came the only weapon he could create now, and he felt embarrassed and ashamed just thinking about it. He said to himself:

"What a primitive person you are, Noor. I'll make a bow and arrows."

He sighed deeply, then imagined the bow with all its precise details while moving his fingers to form it until it took shape. He grasped it with his right hand and imagined an arrow, then held it. He moved forward slightly, took an aiming position, and felt very proficient at aiming with the bow and arrow. The grip of the bow seemed familiar to him, and he knew he had been skilled with it in the life he barely remembered due to his weak memory. Noor aimed the arrow toward the target, then released it to fly freely through the air, hitting the first target exactly in the center.

The voice congratulated him:

"Excellent, Mr. Noor. It seems you're a professional."

Noor continued training for four months on many things, such as fitness exercises, meditation, concentration, creating objects, and refining his physical and mental strength. He learned many things he had been completely ignorant of and created many things he never imagined he could create. He felt he had become stronger than before and was able to create a version of himself similar to the light surrounding him, which he could control and move as he wished. After completing his training period, the voice told him that he had finished all the important training, and he couldn't believe it.

The voice said to Noor with its usual arrogant tone:

"You have completed all the preparations, but there is one final, major test awaiting you here before you leave this place. In fact, I can assert that the upcoming test will determine your fate."

Noor's features tightened and he felt a strong fear coming over him. He said in a broken tone:

"What do you mean... by this test... that will determine my fate?"

"You will see. everything in due time. But to be honest with you. you may not leave here if you don't pass this test."

Noor felt a shiver run through his body when he heard these words. He shouted with intense anger:

"What do you mean I won't leave. I've been detained here by force. and now you don't want to let me out unless I do what you say. Damn you and these tests."

"Don't be angry. I believe you have a great chance of passing it. This is not flattery, believe me. I don't care about your life at all, but don't worry, you'll pass it if you focus your efforts well on winning. More importantly, you learn quickly, and that will benefit you."

Noor fell silent, thinking about the nature of this upcoming decisive test and hoping it would be easier than what he had seen so far. These tests had not been easy for him, and it seemed that what was coming would undoubtedly be the most difficult. Noor said, suppressing his rage:

"Fine, take me to this test now. I want to get out as quickly as possible."

"Very well, enter this elevator to your right."

Noor looked to his right and noticed an elevator he hadn't seen before. He stepped into it, and the elevator moved from the fifth floor to the second floor, then opened. He exited to find himself in a large white arena, similar to the rooms he had been in but apparently much larger. He noticed something that made his eyes widen in astonishment, and he felt a mixture of relief, confusion, fear, and hope. He saw that there were people like him standing in the arena, emerging from several elevators surrounding the circular arena. He saw about fifty people in the arena, and their appearances were strange—some had wings, some had blue and red faces, and their forms did not look like normal people at all.

He approached them with his senses sharply heightened and stood near them, observing them. He saw among them women and men, wearing clothes similar to his, but there were boxes containing black clothes resembling sportswear, so everyone, including Noor, began to put them on. He said to himself:

"They must have gone through what I went through. Do they possess an ability like mine. Maybe! But what's happening here? Why are we here in the first place? Are they conducting a super soldier project or something like that! And we are the chosen ones for these damned tests to modify our bodies and add these strange abilities. I've always wished for a superpower, but not in this way, especially since my power isn't that special, particularly as it requires a lot of training to master."

Suddenly, the voice boomed throughout the hall, cutting off Noor's train of thought and the whispers and skirmishes in the hall, saying:

"Welcome to the final stage. As you can see, you are the ones who have managed to reach here. To exit from here, you must pass this final test, but first, I must warn you that this test is the most difficult, and if you are not careful, you may meet your demise."

Author Note: From here things will start to fire up. Hold your breath because what is coming is insane.
