Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 The First Pet

Chapter 6 The First Pet

When the Fantasy Color Key is used to create a contract, the Beastmaster only needs to insert the key into the hole at the center of the Spirit Contract Platform. The platform will randomly summon extraordinary creatures, and once the creature appears, it automatically completes the contract with the Beastmaster.

There is no possibility of failure.

Of course, there is also no chance for regret. Once you begin, there is no turning back; everything must flow as it will.

Mingyan took a deep breath and stepped onto the Spirit Contract Platform. Without allowing herself any hesitation, she inserted the key in her hand into the central hole.

In the next moment, the entire platform shone brightly as various colored star arrays appeared under Mingyan's feet. For an instant, her slender body resembled a goddess walking on a nebula.

To Mingyan, who was born in the modern era, everything unfolding before her seemed unreal.

It felt like a fantasy movie had suddenly come to life. In this moment, no matter how cold or composed she usually was, she couldn't control her heart, which raced at a hundred miles per hour.

Her palms were already clammy with sweat.

"Boom!"

The light column of the Spirit Contract Platform exploded to its highest intensity.

Amidst the interplay of light and shadow, a golden figure emerged.

Against the backdrop of the light column, the golden glow reflected and flickered from every angle, nearly blinding Mingyan.

Mingyan was slightly confused. What had she summoned? Why was it so dazzling?

"Thunder!"

The shrill cry pierced the air, carrying with it an oppressive aura of ferocity.

At that moment, Mingyan's hair stood on end, and her body reacted instinctively. She jumped into the air, executed a backflip, and landed back on the Spirit Contract Platform.

"Sizzle!"

A loud explosion, akin to metal being sliced, resonated near her.

Mingyan looked and saw dark cut marks where she had just stood.

Although the platform was quickly repairing itself, it was clear how fierce the attack had been.

If that had happened to her, she would have been gravely injured—or worse.

Oh my god.

What on earth had she summoned?

Clearly, this creature was ready to attack her from the very start, indicating its extreme ruthlessness.

"Bang!"

A bird-like extraordinary creature, about one meter long, with feathers covered in gold and red spots all over its body—except for three bright purple-black feathers on its head—suddenly landed heavily in front of Mingyan, locking eyes with her.

Its pupils, the color of blood agate with sclera as black as ink, stared directly at her, and its initial fierceness slowly transformed into confusion.

"Leilei?"

Although Mingyan couldn't understand what it was saying since the contract hadn't been completed yet, the way it looked around cautiously and its uncertain tone suggested it was likely asking where it was.

Despite nearly being beheaded moments earlier, Mingyan was inclined to respond since it was about to become her pet.

However, the Spirit Contract Platform had no intention of granting her that opportunity.

The contract began.

The pet space hidden in her sea of consciousness appeared, and a small white pyramid floated in front of her.

The only illuminated side of the pyramid faced the unnamed bird pet nearby. Concurrently, the colorful key, which had been embedded in the Spirit Contract Platform, floated up as well, transforming into a stream of light that surged into the bird's body.

An energy bridge was constructed, drawing the extraordinary creature closer to the pyramid.

The strange pet instinctively attempted to resist but was immediately subdued by the energy bridge.

"Buzz."

A mysterious and profound sound resonated from the universe as the contract was successfully concluded.

In Mingyan's sea of consciousness, on the illuminated wall of the pet space, her golden pet perched majestically, looking fierce.

Huh?

Mingyan was puzzled. Its feathers had been golden with red spots—how had they turned light gold?

Furrowing her brow, she quickly considered a possibility.

She clumsily formed seals with her hands, and the spiritual pet space appeared before her again. With a flash of light and shadow, her first pet tumbled out of the space in a state of panic.

Mingyan examined it and said, "You are indeed injured."

The red spots on its feathers were not golden; they were clearly blood. Not only that, but it also had several penetrating wounds, with blood oozing from them.

Even its right claw was torn.

Everything had happened in a flash, influenced by the light column, so she hadn't noticed its condition earlier.

Given the severity of these wounds, it must have been engaged in a fierce battle right before being summoned.

So, it had attacked her without reason as soon as it appeared—it had likely mistaken her for an enemy.

"thunder?"

The contract has been completed, so Mingyan can now understand what it says.

It asked: "Human, what is going on?"

The tone is quite domineering.

Mingyan explained it patiently and briefly introduced herself.

Judging from its size and aura, the pet she contracted was obviously not a primary pet, so it should be a mid-level pet.

Oh wow! The 5-star quality of the secret key was not wasted.

However, the original owner's limited knowledge did not include any information about the pet in front of her.

I don't know whether the original owner was a poor student or if this pet has an extraordinary origin.

After listening to Mingyan's explanation, the pet was silent for a long while, with unknown emotions flowing in its blood agate eyes, as if it was thinking about something.

He remained silent for a long time.

It looks like it will last forever.

Mingyan could only interrupt the thinker and asked tentatively: "You are seriously injured, can I take you to get treated first?"

All randomly summoned pets are wild pets without exception. They may come from other star fields or from secret places. Unlike the pets carefully bred in the pet breeding center, wild pets are usually extremely aggressive.

That is, wild and untamable.

Especially since this might be a mid-level pet, it needs to be treated with more caution.

"thunder."

The Thunder Bird looked at the human who had just become its beastmaster and felt the kindness she exuded. It finally stopped remaining silent and raised its head slightly and responded proudly.

"Leilei." Human, you lead the way.

Mingyan: ...

"I see that you are seriously injured. Do you want to go back to the pet space first?"

The Thunder Bird shook its head decisively and looked down at its body.

He was indeed seriously injured. If it weren't for the energy feedback from the contract he had just made with this human, he would have probably gone into severe shock.

It thought about it, flapped its still bleeding wings and flew up with difficulty.

Then Mingyan's left shoulder sank and she almost fell down.

My goodness, he is treating her like a bird climbing a trellis.

Don't you know how much you weigh?

And you're covered in blood!

Feeling the damp heat flowing down from her shoulders, Mingyan: ...

I'm afraid this is a contract with an ancestor.

When Mingyan walked out of the spiritual contract room with the Thunder Demon Bird, she saw the opposite room open as well, and out came her twin sister, Mingxi, in a similar situation as her with the exact same bird on her right shoulder.

Before they could speak, both birds let out a noise that sounded a lot like their happiness and shock:"Brother, thunder."

The two birds almost flew to each other but were too hurt to do so, so they asked their beastmaster to go closer.

Soon they found out the story the are rare Twin hunter bird who were in life or death fight before they called upon to the contract room and meet them.

Mingyan and Mingxi looked at each other in resignation and comfort, while they don't feel so close to each other on a deep level, they feel safe around each other in this unfamiliar environment, they got pets that are twin brothers to them, destined to be together, so why bother not accepting it.

As soon as they came out, they immediately attracted all kinds of attention, and almost all the staff looked at them.
