Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 2

Ezra's POV

And just then, three alphas stepped

out together. They were beastmen, 'cause their wolf ears were visible on their heads, and their wolf tails were waving behind them.

Beastmen come to notice 'cause of their ears and tails often. But wait—did those three alphas kill those animals?

'Cause the way everyone is clearing the way for them, it's clear that they had won this competition. But they are three—who am I supposed to marry from three?

All the alphas who had participated in the competition gather here, looking at each other.

"Ezra, let's go. It's time to announce the winner," he says, starting to walk down the stairs. And I quietly follow him.

As we step downstairs, I can clearly see those three alphas' faces now. They were standing behind everyone, but 'cause of their height, they were visible.

My father and I stand on the stage, and a servant is standing there with three gold roses in his hands.

"I can't believe that beastman alphas are this powerful. But as the Dark Pack won this competition, as a reward, those three princes can marry my son."

"First prince, Zevian," my father called the name of Zevian. A black-haired alpha stepped ahead from those three. His wolf ears were dark too, and so was his tail. But his eyes were golden. His body was so big and muscular, but his facial expression was cold. He came and stood in front of Father, and slightly glanced at me, which really made me flinch. His orange pheromones went into my nose.

"Second prince, Lazek."

The second guy stepped forward. He had grey hair, and the same colour on his ears and tail. His eyes were also grey. I couldn't see if he was muscular, but his body was no joke, 'cause he also looked bigger than me when he came and stood right in front of me, making eye contact. I avoided his eyes and looked down. Since the veil was still on, he couldn't see my expressions. But I could sense his pheromones—they smelled like coconuts.

"Third prince, Sylven."

The third guy stepped forward while smiling. His hair was black, the same colour as his ears and tail, and his eyes were also ocean-blue. His body was so huge. He stood beside Zevian, and his pheromones reached my nose—they smelled like milk.

"Wolf Dark Pack's three are the winners of this contest, and I am gonna marry my son to these three brothers."

My eyes widened at Father's words. What? He's gonna marry me off to these three brothers—not one of them? How can he say that? How can I marry three instead of one? It's wrong. I wanted to protest, but I couldn't raise my voice against my father.

As the winners were announced, Father handed over the three roses. Zevian stepped forward and stood right in front of me, giving me the rose.

I glanced at Father, seeing him watching me. My father glared at me. I quickly took the rose. I knew I should take it, but since Father was there, I thought I should ask him.

Lazek also stepped forward. He directly handed the rose to me and went to stand beside his brother.

Sylven did the same. Now I had three golden roses in my hands. Normally, in this haunting competition, our alphas give these to the omegas they like and want to show off in front of everyone.

But in my case, it's different here, 'cause I don't think those three brothers like me or anything.

They just gave these roses to me out of responsibility—'cause they know they're gonna marry me, so why bother giving them to someone else?

And suddenly, I felt a touch on my shoulder, so I glanced beside me—my father was looking at me.

"Go to your husbands now."

"Can I meet Mother before going?"

I asked, and he glared at me like I had asked something very wrong.

But I also wanted to see my mother before leaving from here, 'cause I don't know when I'll get the chance to meet her again.

"Just for five minutes."

I beamed hearing this, and Father called a servant and told them to pack my belongings.

I left with the servant and went to my mother. As I left, I saw Father calling those three brothers to talk.

"Mom, I'm leaving today."

"So soon? Which alpha are you marrying? Do I know him?"

"No, Mom, he's from another nation. In fact, he's a prince."

"Then that's great. I just hope he treats you the best and always cares about you."

I hugged Mother. I didn't feel like leaving at all. But I would have to go.

I didn't even spend five minutes with my mother, and just then, a servant came in, calling for me to leave. I bid goodbye to Mother and left the room.

As I came out of the room and followed the servants, they had already put my belongings into the carriage and told me to sit inside. I wore my veil again, which I had removed to talk with my mother.

I stepped into the carriage and sat down. My legs were getting numb—so much time had already passed, but those three brothers hadn't come to leave yet. Then suddenly, I heard their voices from outside.

I peeked out of the window and saw—indeed—they were outside, sitting on their horses. And just then, the carriage started to move. I started to look around and saw my personal servant walking outside.

"Stop the carriage."

As I said this, the carriage stopped, and I called my servant, Vian, inside. He was a beta and had been serving me since childhood. He was the same age as me.

Hearing me, he stepped inside, and the carriage started to move again.

"Did you see? He's already giving orders like he thinks he's the Luna of our pack."

"Such a bitch. I don't like humans at all."

Hearing these words from outside, Vian and I exchanged a glance.

"Master, don't worry about them, 'cause indeed, humans and beastmen were enemies. So it's natural for each to hate the other," Vian said.
